I got this radiant barrier installed August 2024. My house was never cooler and never saw any savings on my electric bills. After reaching out to Ed about my displeasure he said well you know its the hottest time of the year. Well gee no kidding. That was the purpose of installing this worthless junk. Now that i have gone through the colder months my house is colder than before and i have to turn my thermostat up even higher. I have never seen any benefits from this. When we decided to invest in solar energy, I spoke with a friend that had already done so. He recommended Ed Graves and Energy Improvements. I called him, and he arranged to drive down from Tyler Texas to our home in Pasadena. I found him to be very personable, friendly, and honest. Sure, he sells it, but it's his own company so he didn't need anyone's permission to make a deal. Our situation also required a new roof before we could install the panels, (We were already aware, as the roof was pretty old.) Ed used his connections to set us up with Elite Roofing, who did a fine job. For the panels, Ed used Fusion out of Arizona. The process was straightforward, they handled the permits and inspections, and the upgrade to our breaker box. Tonight I attended a dinner hosted by Energy Improvements by Ed Graves. I felt uneasy the minute I walked into the room at Outback. The invitation had said it was going to be about energy savings for your home and I thought it might have been about solar. Since I am interested in and have been looking at solar, I signed up. Once the video started rolling and Ed started the presentation I looked up the company. To my shock, here were thousands of complaints. Ed Graves stated that he had 30K installs in 32 years so I was truly shocked to see so many complaints and issues for a company that had been in business that many years. Makes me wonder if he has changed he company name numerous times but I am not going to spend the time to research it as I have no desire to waste my time !!! The presentation was very overstated and consistent bragging. It became so much that I do not know how anyone would believe it - my antenna went up for sure! I also noticed that everyone in the room was on the elderly / mature side. One of the complaints I had read on Yelp and BBB was that he preyed on the elderly and retired people who were on fixed incomes. If this is true as it appeared to be, that is despicable to prey on the elderly! Ed Graves came off to me to be like a snake oil salesman. He was creepy, high pressure, bragging and me, me, me! At the end of the presentation he did not ask if anyone had any questions. I raised my hand asking if I could ask a few questions. He did not respond so I proceeded to ask a question. My first question was that since he is in Tyler and I am in the Dallas area how does he handle a service call. I had read in one of the complaints that he had told the customer that he just missed the service truck route and it would be another 8 weeks before they would be in that city and state - that is 2 months!!! These are certainly all valid concerns when doing business with someone in another city or state and one that as a consumer I should certainly be able to get an answer to - instead he blew up at me, asking why would I try to embarrass him and stormed over to my table picking up the paper he had put there for me to sign up for him to come out to my house. Needless to say, I was in shock. If there was not issues on these questions, he certainly would not have reacted as he did. This tells me he is an even bigger snake oil salesman!!! As I was leaving, Ed Graves called me names and degraded me - so very unprofessional!!! I wish I had taken pictures of him and the slimy presentation, but I did not. Well i wish I saw these reviews before I fell into the snare of this nearly bible thumping wolf in sheep's clothing. He acts like he is a man of God by praying before the meal. My energy bill has not dropped one red cent. I have called and left messages 7 times in 10 days and received nothing in response. This is a scam and I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau. I find his methods of salesmanship to be as underhanded as I have ever seen. I can predict with great accuracy his response will be something lame like he has been in business 35 years. There are a lot of sketchy businesses that have existed even longer which is not a testimonial to what type of flawed products they sell. Then he will say he never promised any energy reductions in his presentation. That is also a lie as he had pictures and testimonials of people showing and discussing the cost savings that incurred. Not right no way is this right. I read a couple of others reviews and they said there was nothing they could do. Well there is something I will do. Tyler Texas as not too far away for me to reach and touch his business with a complaint to the Chamber of Commerce and the Mayor. Then I go state wide and include the Interstate Chamber of Commerce complaint. He is a liar to the nth degree and his product is a worthless piece of junk. He must be stopped but I am sure he is not man enough to even discuss this with me on the phone. He deals in lies and alibies and should be out of business the sooner the better. read more

A client of mine unfortunately had a fire in one of their rental properties. The damage was not only substantial in the room it occurred in, but the smoke damage throughout the home affected all the building materials. After finding out the supplier of the radiant barrier, and contacting Energy Improvements, to my complete surprise, the radiant barrier was going to be replaced at no charge to my client. The original barrier was supplied and installed in 2018, and in March of 2023 they are still honoring their warrantee and upholding their word. As a contractor, I can't say how shocked and pleased I have been with Energy Improvements and their values. read more

We went to a dinner hosted by Energy improvements, They are not a local company, but the deal sounded good. Too good to be true I now realized, They sent 2 very young men to lay down a Foil Barrier Insulating sheet on top of the Rafters and fiberglass insulation. I wasn't happy with the job due to the gaps and lack of taping it together. The pictures they show look really nice. My Attic looks awful. They said they would send another crew to look at it but that has now been over 1 month. I'm not happy with the job, but with them not being a local company I have no recourse. Beware of this company when you get the invitation in the mail. I should have checked Yelp first. Oh and the savings from the air conditioner/Furnace running less? Do not waste your money. We had radiant barrier installed April 2018, to date it has not saved us a dime either electricity or gas. We spent over $4,000 on a 1,900 square foot house. Save your money for a nice vacation. After our complaint, someone from the company came out to check to assure it was installed correctly and they stated it was. Never offered to refund our money. When selling the product, mention was never made of a guarantee, and our mistake was not asking. We strongly recommend asking about their guarantee. JUST DON'T DO IT! read more

If I could give this ZERO stars, I would In September 2016, my wife and I were invited to a seminar put on by a company named Energy Improvements in which Mr. Ed Graves stated that with their "energy shield" we could save $150-$200 per month in electricity. This was to be accomplished by a 10° - 12° decrease in attic temperatures by using the "energy shield". On September 7, Mr. Graves came and investigated our attics both in the living area and the garage. Subsequently and based on Mr. Graves reassertion that we would experience energy savings and temperature decreases, we signed up for installation amount of $4,995. Three weeks later the temperatures in the garage area had increased by 10° . I called Mr. Graves and informed him of this fact and he said he would send someone to inspect and report on my complaint. Two of his installers who appeared to be in their late teens or early twenties presented themselves to inspect the "energy shield". They proclaimed the installation to be in accordance with their parameters. I asked them what did they intend to do about the temperature increase and their statement was that they were there to check on the proper installation of the material and that was all they knew how to do. They pronounced the installation to be in accordance with their experience training, and education. I called Mr. Graves and asked him what was the next step to alleviate the temperature problem and he offered to removed the material but not to reduce or remove the original price of $4995. I had the material (a product that appears to be a heavy gauge aluminum foil) removed and the temperature subsequently dropped back to what it was prior to the installation. Mr. Graves has never presented himself or any other company representative to my home to address the temperature problem. Electric bills since the installation in September 2016, are as follows: October $265 November $276 December $276 January 2017 $272 February $268 March $261 April $255 May $250 June $248 July $252 August $263 September $289 The energy bill decrease in the 12 months since the September 2016 installation is non-existent. The total of $2358 for the 9 months of 2017, is a total $262/month average. So, in conclusion, the installation of an "energy shield" by Energy Improvements and Ed Graves in September 2016, did not lower my electric bills or lower the attic temperatures as promised. I, therefore, am refusing to pay for any or all of the product and installation of said product. read more

Attended their dinner last night, which was an arkward, high pressure sales pitch riddled with falsehoods and misrepresentations. The presenter preferenced his remarks by saying that he would not discuss cost, a deal breaker for us and an obvious deferral of a critical issue in order to remove an obstacle to furthering the sales process and getting into our home. From what I have read (on energy.gov and elsewhere), a properly installed barrier by a certified installer can cut your energy bill by 17 to 50%, but this company installs the system entirely wrong for Texas weather (on the ceiling joists and not the rafters) and yet touts many testimonials by satisfied customers and energy savings up to 50%. Simply do not understand how that can be given the erroneous installation methodology, specifically recommended for extreme winter climates. Read the complaints by those who bought their system, only to find they had no energy savings. Would recommend anyone considering doing business with this company do their due diligence before signing on the dotted line. read more
