I remember coming to this location back when it was Pulse a few years ago and usually had a good time; usually crammed with sweaty, drunk people and creepers, but if you can get away from them it can be a pretty fun place. However, a lot has changed as it was taken over by Energy, both good and bad. First of all, the space is A LOT bigger; there are a few different rooms that include a dance floor and lounge area, as well as an outdoor patio. They had a great DJ the night we were there and were playing some great dance music. The crowd seems to be very young, mostly consisting of early to mid 20's. If you're looking for a chill environment, this is DEFINITELY not the place for you. If you like the upbeat, crowded type of scene, you may like it a bit more. The night started out great for us, but I was honestly kind of over being there after the first couple of hours. I had fun on the dance floor, but this place was crammed with sleazy, drunk people...not to mention my friend had probably about 5 drinks spilled on her that night. By the end of the night we were all a little disgruntled from the crowd, but an employee did notice us being upset and gave us all free entry for our next visit, which I thought was really nice. I'd like to give it another shot the next time I'm in Cincy, but it's not the best bar I've been to. read more

They kicked out for no reason and the DJ was playing the same music from a week ago. This is the reason why Cincinnati is a joke for music and artists and why no band or singular artist in their prime ever consider stopping in this city. You don't care about the music you care that people are buying drinks but because this bar caters to 18 year olds they have to extort money from you by having you pay $10 before even going into the club. I've friends DJ here and say it was the worst experience they ever had. It's top 40 remixes from 10 years ago and the "DJ" doesn't even mix he presses play a pre recorded mix and walks away. The messed up thing is, they're playing fergalicious and over half the kids in their were probably 6 when that came out. You wanna make Energy a better night club? Get a new DJ, put some actual talent in their and stop having the same "Red, Yellow and Green" nights every week. read more

I'm gonna start by saying that at nearly 36 years old, this place is NOT my normal cup of tea. But we were in town for a bachelor party, and this is where the night ended up taking us, so "when in Rome," and all of that... First thing's first, there's a $5 cover. Bring cash, you can't use a card for the cover. Next, it's inside an old warehouse, but still doesn't feel huge. Music is a mix of top 40, rap/pop and, "the music your parents used to bump and grind to," as the DJ put it when he played "Pony." There was a massive foam party in one corner to go along with a huge stage in the middle. Even though my age group is definitely not the target demographic, we still had a good time and drinks weren't too pricey. read more

First things first--this is a tiny but booming little nightclub/bar in Downtown Cincinnati. It's 18 and over, so I expected to be full of annoying drunk people AND annoying teenagers. We got there around 10:30 before the dance floor was open, so everyone was kind of hanging around at the bar and chatting. Everyone seemed genuinely friendly and surprisingly not creepy. Like most bars, it has a main bar area, a dance floor with a bar, and an outdoor patio area with a live band. None of the bars were extremely busy, so it didn't take long to get drinks. SPeaking of drinks, the drinks are AMAZING and decently priced. And they have fishbowls. For $20, you and your friends can have a delicious and pretty drink the size of your head! However, just because the bars weren't crowded doesn't mean that the dance floor wasn't. It was empty for the first half hour or so, but then when people started going out, it was packed like sardines. My friend got her drink knocked out of her hand twice--and they landed on me, of course--and both people who bumped into her just looked at her like it was her fault. Besides that, it's a fun place. Now that I know what to expect, I might have more fun if I end up there again. It's a great place to let loose and dance, and then when you're done dancing, there are couches in the main bar you can relax in. read more

If I could give lower than one star I would. I used to have so much fun when the club was Pulse, and while it has gotten bigger, it has not gotten better. They switched the type of music they play from music you could dance to, to EDM music you can only jump and fist bump to. It's not fun anymore. They also are so sketchy and will use "contests and prizes" to get people to come but hold no such contests. The owner will claim the staff picked winners and handed out prizes but he is "to sick to announce winners" and when called out on social media will delete posts and block people. (Will include screenshots below from one individual). This club has such sketchy business practices. I had a lifetime free entry pass and cut it up because it isn't even worth going. The music you can hardly dance to now, the drinks are weaker than my 97 year old grandmother which is crazy for the amount they charge and they just plain have crappy business practice. DO NOT RECCOMMEND. Awful club, awful music, awful ownership, below one star. To add, I cut up my pass instead of giving it away or selling it because that would mean giving them business in the form of another person and they don't deserve it. Since the renovation, of the previous Pulse Nightclub, I have to say that Energy Nightclub is a lot better and more fantastic than it used to be. The interior overall is really classier, especially the VIP section, and creates an atmosphere of how a club should be. I used to go here when it was still called Pulse, but it felt like a bar with a dance floor. Now, since the change of owners and renaming, they have also expanded. It has a separate section if you want just the bar atmosphere and be away from the dance floor, but also a larger section to dance if you'd like. The DJ on the night I went played more mashups of top hits with some EDM renditions. It is geared more towards young adults and older college students/college graduates. The management is also really nice and accommodating. A friend of mine had contact the manager prior the night to work out a deal for the VIP section since a large group of us were attending due to a special event. They ended up given us 3 VIP sections and reducing our cover cost for the event!! The management really cares about the people's experience while there, and even checked up on us to make sure we had a great time. He even had the DJ shout us out on the mic that night! Overall, I would gladly come back again. I am even thinking about throwing my birthday there because my friends and I had such a great time! read more

I like this club but Everytime I go I get guys groping me and when I go with my friends even after telling them I have an boyfriend they say I can't come here even though I'm just you know trying to have a good time with my friends who're all girls it's one of the only clubs around here I can go to under 21 but there's a lot of underage drinking here and I think they should have cameras inside of the club just in case something happens. Because once I had lost my purse and the police guard could barely do anything!!! And not to mention the creeps here! Was convinced to come back after the revamp. Must say, this club has changed. Since the renewal the interior is very attractive and the light show quite impressive. The VIP Section felt close to the music but properly removed from the normal area. The whole place was clean and the dress code was well maintained. Music was solid and the DJ was very energetic. With a couple of friend this is a great place to spend the evening and the 18 up means anyone in college can come along. Will come back again! read more

Here on a Friday night. The parking lot was so hard to find but it's atleast cheap ($2) and if you're 21+ the cover charge is only $5. This place seems to be real popular within 18-20 year old crowd, which is fine. I would've loved a place like this when I was in Cali so let off some steam. The staff are all pleasant and the drinks aren't that bad. I like to stick to my margaritas usually. Although they are a bit on the expensive side. The music is everything from top charts. Even hear some old 90s Britney songs haha. I appreciate danceable music which a lot of clubs tend to lack. This place is definitely not meant for a drinking night, more just for dancing. read more

Huge night club, great for events. I attend Northern Kentucky University & many of the fraternities rent out their party room adjacent to the large dance floor. They have security at the door between rooms checking wrist bands to ensure only those in your party can enter the room (I.E NKU students). There is a personal lounge & bar in the party room. They also have a few bars in the large area with a dance floor. They have some cool themed nights & always are bringing in different DJs. There is also VIP & bottle service if you're interested. Depending on the night you go there will be different crowds. The building itself is an old factory & half of the building is a night club while the other half houses offices. read more

The bar tenders were so kind, and one girl even did a little trick or 2 with our drinks before handing them to us! The music selection was great! A few friends and I even started a dance circle! It is 18+ "club" so the crowd is girls barely getting in with fakes and older creepy looking dudes watching from afar. Trash rap with no dance music. I went with a couple of my friends from school. I tapped one of my friends, that just so happened to be a girl, on the head jokingly while dancing and immediately was escorted out of the building without probable cause; even after I had clearly told him I was friends with her and was joking around. After continuously asking why I was being forcibly taken out the one guy said "I was getting too handsy" with said girl! Lol. I don't know if security wanted something to do or were jealous of my hair (all of them were suspiciously bald...seemed oddly cult-like). Being from NJ I have been to my share of clubs but this place shouldn't call itself a nightclub. Its more like a high school dance with drunk kids old pervs and bouncers that like showing everyone they have power. They should honestly be getting shut down for all the underage drinking that goes on there. Its incredibly easy for any 21+ year old to pass a girl on the dance floor a drink. If you don't know the process and the work that was put into this club, then your should honestly stay out of the review box. I have been coming to what was known as "Pulse Nightclub" for years and have grown a friendship with the staff there. With that, here's my review of what is now Energy Nightclub. Coming into the new doors of Energy, you are greeted by security to make sure that you're wearing the right type of clothing. Sorry, this is not your "Slob of a mess look" nightclub, as Energy Nightclub is one of the largest nightclubs in Cincinnati. After you're checked and cleared, you begin to enter what is Energy nightclub, making it a non-confusing way to enter the club, you're then greeted by two more employees who check your ID's and ether give you a wristband (21+) or let you through to pay (18-20). After you're done checking in and paying you'll make your way into the Lounge-feel bar area, where you can get multiple kinds of Craft beer and other drinking amenities. Making your way through that, you'll enter into the Main club area. With that be it, lets talk about the changes. You'll notice right away, that this space is huge! Brand new staging, lighting, and sound equipment from the top brands of Pro Audio, brand new styles of seating arrangements and no more vacant balcony VIP area. All of the VIP areas are now on the main floor and it brings a better feel in the mix. To the left of entering the nightclub, you'll see the main bar, that features a red glow from the bottom up and a brand new bar top to go with it, also featuring lit-up bottles behind the bar, to endure that they have the most premium booze in the building. The dance floor is still the same, with a few exceptions. They've removed the cluttered dance risers and made the floor all one level. The DJ booth is now a DJ booth, where DJ Sab and other's can host some of the biggest events in the city, all with comfort ability. You've also have to take in the area around the dance floor. Removing the clutter that was the old couches, makes that area bigger. Replacing the old couches with newly lounge area seating makes you feel that you're still apart of the club and not slouching at your house. To the right of the entrance to the main club area, you'll see a round, island style table for you to associate with the crowd around you. All in all, this club will blow your socks off and it has improved immensely, I hope that DJ Sab is going to have a ton of fun with the new style of club. You definitely get the Vegas style atmosphere, with the Cincinnati twist. Energy Nightclub should be your nightclub. read more

This place is great if you're bored and looking for a night out, but if you're not between 18-25, you'll probably feel a little out of place. There's a bar area that you have to hang out in until the dance floor opens at 11, so if you're coming mainly to dance I would recommend coming right before 11. On Friday nights girls can get in free which was really nice! The room that has he dance floor is fairly large, but the dance floor itself is quite small, so if you have personal space issues it is not the place for you. The DJ wasn't that good in my opinion, but he played typical hip-hop/rap stuff that most other people probably like a lot. If you're a girl and not in a large group, you will definitely have guys asking you to dance. There's a nice little outdoor patio area which is great to get away from everything for a quick breather. The strobe lighting going on inside the whole time was slightly disorienting. Overall, fun night out, seems like an awesome place for groups! read more

Went here once NEVER going again. My cousins were begging me to go and I finally said fine. Got there and instantly did not feel safe. Place was over crowded and there was literally no way you weren't getting bumped into ever five seconds. It was a bunch of kids and only played pop music. Nobody could dance and it was a very boring atmosphere. Didn't even stay 30 mins and left.

Unfortunately it's still 18 and up, so it's still your number one spot to try and grind on a teenager. But with the same DJ playing all the time there's little reason to go back. Not sure why you would feel the need to rebrand something that you fundamentally changed nothing about. Seems like you could have just kept it Pulse Cincy with it's 24,000 facebook fans instead of starting over. But hey, the teens gotta go somewhere. read more

The second DJ closest to the bar in the smaller room was great. Got there waited in line 10min before they opened up the other side of the line to take cash and check IDs, so not sure how effective the moving of entrances was. I guess they were understaffed since Sabb was taking cash at the other end lol. Other than that I can't say there was much of a difference than a month ago still not a fan of the elevated dance floor. It's a waste of space since it's so small and slightly dangerous. Still got hit on by a bunch of 19yr old guys. Sabb still playing the same music he started out with years ago. Hopefully they realize people want different Djs rather than the same ish every time. All in all same place different name and red. I just went to say I've done it. Like each time like in the past, I regretted my decision to go immediately. Moral of the story if you're 21 and up go somewhere else. If your 18 to 20 this is the spot for you, and pretty much the only spot for you, sorry. read more
