I imagine they're dealing with hundreds of people every day - it's a post office, after all - but they manage a smile and a greeting again and again - I know I'm not their biggest customer but I feel like a friend when I'm in there, they remember little things like my wife shops Ebay, etc - it's just a pleasure to drop in. They have all the Aussie Post products you'd expect, and a good range of gifts, presents, toys, gift cards, stuffed toys, etc.

I always tried to avoid any government department buildings as they seemed packed all the time and…read moreI just hated the atmosphere in those places. Although recently I have had no choice and I must say it's not as bad as I remember it. This office is quite small but is conveniently located within the shopping centre, but also near an entrance, so easy to get to. They have great opening hours - much better than most government agencies. I usually only go here when I need to make a claim as it is so easy. You just go in with your receipt and medicare card and they give you the cash back straight away. I have never had to wait more than about 5 or 10 minutes, which I thought was pretty good. And to think I used to fill out forms and post them off and then wait weeks to get a cheque back and then go to the bank to deposit it and wait 3 days for it to clear when it was this easy all along to do at their office. I also realised last time I was in there that they have a Family Assistance Office in here as well. Not quite sure the benefits as I always thought you had to go through Centrelink for FAO stuff but they had forms available here as well.

We were shown around the city and given lots of fascinating background information. We saw and heard about Adelaide history and passed by several places of interest. We stopped in to see the newly renovated Adelaide Oval then made our way up into the Adelaide Hills. The peak of Mt Lofty has a glorious view and we enjoyed that with a short stop. We then went on to Hahndorf. We had free time here to explore the main street, where there are shops, cafes and other things of German culture to investigate. Our schedule was managed very carefully and we left Hahndorf in good time to get back to the city as planned. Overall, this tour and our guide was excellent. I would recommend this tour and would definitely choose them for another tour in the future. Well done.

It has been ages since I've actually been into the church, despite actually living in Adelaide…read more Actually, I really do appreciate how some of these churches leave the doors open to allow people to wander in and walk around, and this church is certainly no exception (though there is some volunteer sitting there ready to help people out, and to answer any questions). I wouldn't necessarily say that it is impressive, not compared to some churches that I've visited, but for a cathedral in Australia, it still isn't all that bad.

This one represents the link between Victoria Square and the local Aboriginal people. The location in the center of town was once the place for Aboriginal ceremonies and dances, called Tarndanyangaa. During WW II several tribes came together transforming the square as a place for Aboriginal cultural activities again. 1971, Victoria Square was the unveiling site for the Australian Aboriginal Flag. Which flies in Reconciliation Plaza in the Square. Victoria Square continues to be that gathering spot for social, political, and historical matters. As the time I visited- it was hosting the Christmas Market. The over the top lighted tree, carolers, and market vendors. A beautiful park in the city to take in the history, statues, fountain and green grass lawn on a warm December day. Or any day.

The square was named in 1837 after Princess Victoria, then heir presumptive of the British throne. This busy square has a large 3 rivers fountain and many statues. Located in the center of the square is a statue honouring Queen Victoria from a model by Birch, unveiled in 1894. at the northern end of the square, The State Survey Mark commemorates the first peg for the survey of the City by Colonel Light in 1837. The east-west road connecting Grote & Wakefield Streets was named Reconciliation Plaza in 2013. The plaza hosts two flagpoles flying the Australian National Flag and the Aboriginal Flag, which has flown permanently in the square since 2002.
