I can't say enough about the excellent care i am receiving. They are communicating with my physician in Port Charlotte as to my specific health concerns. They go to great lengths to make sure that my visits are as pleasant as possible and I am comfortable. Exceptional service all the way around. It's like I am flying first class on an airline. I am totally blown away by the waiting room. Those are real orchids. The wall of imported marble. I stated clearly -multiple times- that I only wanted basic X-rays and cleanings covered by my insurance for my family members, as we have good dental health. (We had full mouth X-rays at another office. Insurance only pays for these every 5 years. Harbor Dental had the results from all 3 of our family members, and before making the 1st appointment, I was assured this would not be a problem, this was just the 1st incident that I disputed). Despite that, additional services were added to the bill without prior discussion of cost or informed consent. Patients deserve transparency and respect for their preferences and coverage limits. If you go here, insist on a written treatment plan and itemized estimate before any work is performed, and verify coverage in advance.

Long story short, I found this practice on Yelp. They had fabulous reviews. I called and got an appointment within two days (it was not an emergency). Dr. Christopher Stanosheck thoroughly evaluated my tooth and crown. Luckily, he was able to re-cemented it back in place! It was good I went in, because I had bacteria and debris that had worked its way under the crown and it was irritating my gum, etc. He was able to clean that out and probably saved me from getting an infection and having a much bigger problem. Dr. Stanosheck was very kind as well as knowledgeable, and his office staff was extremely nice and welcoming. I would recommend this practice to anyone without reservation.

I have had an implant, several crown repairs, and regular cleaning as his patient. I switched to Medicare Advantage plan last November, and decided to stay with Dr. Engle even though he is not a preferred provider, I recently had some discomfort along the gum line and called for an exam. I was seen the following day and Dr. Engle examined the area, saw no inflammation or infection and sent me on my way: NO CHARGE! I'm so glad I stayed with him!

That alone meant that there was no more "glady to work with you and address your concerns". Meanwhile, check out the updated pic of my new teeth that were "not correctable". I didn't even have to be subjected to potential "facial paralysis" as my new dentist did a phenomenal job. Still out $7900 that your office owes me. I echo the sentiments of Stephanie G, Abigail K, Kjellaug Y, and Pete M. The first cleaning I had with Hygienist Alyson (a year or two ago) went the same as Stephanie describes - - Alyson was rude, unprofessional, condescending and has a nasty bedside manner. She is not pleased to have to deal with any medical issues a client may have. Due to vertigo and sinus problems, I am unable to be reclined back as far as she would like, yet she has no concern for anything but her own comfort. Likewise, the appointment setter, Claudia, is rude and obnoxious, stating that she told you something last time you were there, when she DID NOT. I was called less than a week before my six month cleaning and told that it would be a deep cleaning as discussed. They "mentioned" wanting to do it; but I NEVER AGREED to it - - and now they say they will no longer treat me if I don't have it done. I asked to speak with the dentist by phone and was told that I would have to make an appointment to see him in person, rather than a telephone call. I really only wanted to speak to him further about the procedure itself and privately question his staff's behavior, but because of Claudia's rudeness and pushiness, I decided to come here to let everyone know about my feelings publicly. Additionally, during the last visit, the dentist mentioned a small light colored area near one of my teeth near the gum (it has been there for years) and the dentist gave me a card to go see his buddy, a dental surgeon, to have a look at it. Two years ago, they stopped taking my insurance (claiming it was a slow payer), but I loyally stayed with them, and submitted repayments to my insurance myself for reimbursement; so now, all of a sudden, Claudia calls me a week before my appointment telling me I have good insurance and it will only be $35 for the deep cleaning. Furthermore, they will no longer treat me if I don't get it done. Could it be that they lost so many long-time clients they decided to again take my insurance? Working the system much? Poor business practices at the very least.
