This is a great hardware store in Englewood! We custom ordered some special seed starter from here because they beat everyone else's prices. It's a seed starter that has proven to us superior in germination and sprout growth. 4 days later it was in and we picked it up. I don't think I was in the store but maybe 4 minutes. Someone always around to help find things. Usually have what I need. I read previous review about customer not being happy that she was 2 min past cut off time to fill propane tanks. they have signs posted that are clear about that and have been up forever. I don't think that was poor customer service. I have have had several keys made there and they work great. It is nice to go to a store and get something quick that you don't have to walk 20 miles to find. Lowes and Home Depot never have anyone available to help readily. they have sent me on more wild goose chases to find things that I could never find where they say they are. I have not had that at this store, the help will go with you and help you find what you need. I like the small town atmosphere in this place. Like the hardware stores in the 50's. read more

Very poor customer service. Wanted a couple propane tanks filled but was told that they shut tanks down 15 minutes before closing. I was only 2 minutes past that time, but they still refused. It wasn't like they were busy; the gentleman I talked with was talking to the cashier (young lady..) the icing on the cake was I told him I'm not coming back and he said fine! Don't shop there! I'm not. If you do say hi to the gentleman that chews gum with his mouth open! read more

After moving last year into a new home, it was incredibly important that I find a local hardware store for all my DIY projects. Luckily, Englewood Hardware has always given me a good experience. The staff is always interested in helping, signage and organization is very clear and well laid out. From what I can tell, prices are fair compared to other hardware stores. The only issue I have had with them was quickly resolved when they cut a key for me that didn't work (hardly their fault, as those machines are a little risky to use wherever you go), but I took it back and they made me a new one free of charge. Less than one star if I could...I purchased mixed paint. I told the fellow in the paint dept. that I wanted something that would cover in one coat and that I had to cover a light green. He said "I can do that" He sold me a Sherwin Williams paint supposedly with primer. I started with the white trim and it's terrible. I am having to give it two good coats of paint...on white! I haven't begun the green. I took it back to them to do something to or give me another kind or return. I was told more than once by a male worker that "It's Sherwin Williams paint we never have trouble with that" Well, I am. The lady, Jean, said that I couldn't return it etc. and that you "ALWAYS HAVE TO GIVE ANYTHING TWO COATS" I reminded her that I was lied to, but she wouldn't do anything to help. She said she couldn't because it was mixed. No...she just wouldn't, I say. She was rude and not at all sympathetic to my cause. Definitely not a charm school graduate! She couldn't have cared less. I say they don't back their products so why shop there. Never again and I won't let anyone else. read more
