ABV was responsive during the pre-booking phase while trying to determine where to stay, during the booking, leading up to the trip when I had questions and during the trip. We have rented at Lae Nani for almost 20 years and the resort is amazing and beautiful but not this unit. It was dirty, black mold in the shower, broken lounge chairs, dirty broken fans, torn lamp shades, lanais which hadn't been swept or washed, various broken items including no working TV for 10 days! Aloha Beach vacations is based in Tennessee not Hawaii even though he uses many alohas. I was told no one from Aloha Beach Vacations had been at our unit in 5 months. They have no support staff on the island except a house keeper and a handy man who only "helps out when not busy". Therefore if anything goes wrong you are kindave on your own. Upon arriving there was a couple of large black sticky spots in front of the door that were tar like. I was worried about tracking it in. I called and the housekeeper came back and cleaned it up. Both lanais were so dirty my feet were disgusting so I immediately swept the porches when we first arrived and wiped off the outdoor lounge chair which you couldn't really use until cleaned. First day the large wooden door shutters in the bedroom sliding door wouldn't shut. A person did come the next morning to fix it but had no key so we needed to return to let them in. Next day we realized the tv in the living room and the bedroom were not working. There was a very tiny TV in the kitchen which was working. The living room tv wouldn't turn on it had no power. The person at Aloha didn't believe us and they had no one to come check it out so we were told to use the tv in the kitchen and he would set an appointment with the cable technician and we needed to be there when he came. At this point I should have just said forget it, but I didnt. We waited 6 days for the cable person to come at 8 am to inform us of what we knew already that the TV was broken. Two days later we were told that were lucky they would get us a new TV and the handyman could come the next morning at 8AM. I said that wouldn't work it would need to be at 9 or later after we had gone. I was then told he couldn't guarantee I would get a TV if that was my request. He called back later and said someone would come in two days. When the Handyman arrived with the TV at 8:45 we were still there an he asked if we could just set up the TV ourselves. We said no but we would help, which we did. It took 10 days to get a working TV after helping set it up. we were thankful it was just a TV and not the dishwasher, water heater,etc. because I can assure you it would be a similar situation. This Vacation rental agency has no NO ONE ON THE ISLAND TO TAKE CARE OF ANYTHING OTHER THAN HOUSE CLEANING! We were expected to participate and help take care of all service issues that arose which were several. When I suggested some kind've compensation for having no large central TV all of our vacation he actually laughed at me and said you have got to be kidding, offering nothing and no real apologies! Please do visit Lae Nani and use the several vacation agencies available on Kauai, but ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE ALOHA BEACH VACATIONS!

I am writing this review because the service both my brother and I received from Therese at Serenity was awesome! My brothers home rental was clean, well stocked, great location and priced right! The property manager was extremely helpful and friendly and went out of her way to make sure that our family had everything they needed for a great stay. My husband and I had rented a much more expensive home through Kauai Vacation Rentals. To contrast, our rental was not cleaned, the yard was overgrown, no beach chairs, umbrellas or beach toys were available. There were not enough towels, electricity was turned off in one of the master bedrooms and it was clear when we arrived that they were not expecting us even though we had booked the place 9 months earlier! I would return to Anini Beach in a minute, but I would only use Serenity Vacation Homes to book our home rental. You will love the location, the setting and the amenities offered! You will also appreciate the service you receive from Serenity.

Our unit was more than spacious for two people and had all basic utilities.The views of Bali Hai and Hanalei Bay were just outside our windows!!! We scored with the location just outside of town with a short drive to the town center where we enjoyed several food options. We decided to act all touristy for a few days and explored some of the other hotels nearby which was nice to see and what the offered. If you want that small town vibe where you fit in with the locals and have a wonderful spacious time share, this is your place.

It is also a short drive to Hanalei Town Center where you will find a lot of dining choices from fast food to sit down restaurants. We travelled with our teenage boys and there are so many fun activites to do like kayaking, paddle boarding and ziplining to name a few. I highly recommend staying at KauaiDreamin. We loved our 2bedroom villa, while we had plenty of space the property itself is small enough that walking anywhere doesn't feel like a chore. Here is where we fall off and don't quite hit the 5 stars. Our villa was super clean. Toilets weren't fully cleaned upon arrival and they definitely didn't do a better job during our stay. The couch and blankets had a few mystery stains that grossed me out. Cocktails and the restaurant are insanely expensive. We are talking 28 dollars for a cocktail. Additionally the staff member Nancy (pool attendant) was rude to me. I wasn't able to locate a dry chair in the sun at 4pm. so I asked an employee for permission to use a chair near the cabana. Permission was granted but she wasn't happy about it. So asked me to move, while I didn't have issue with moving I did find it rather unprofessional of her to yell at me for not reading the sign and while she offered to help me when I asked to a dry chair on the sun she walked away ranting about my lack of awareness. To make matters worse the same employee had a separate issue with my husband in reguarda to pool towels. When I tried to address it with the front they weren't very helpful. All in all we did have a great week there and hope to go back.

When I asked her for photos of her complaints she refused to show them to me. She's not a very good business woman. Her motives are extra charges. Beware of this. She left me a one star review on VRBO which I can't contest because she uses 3rd party booking. I didn't even stay at her house!! This is not the aloha way. Scam. Stay away. It was gorgeous, clean and well-stocked with beach supplies. The communication with Princeville Vacation Rentals was top-notch! I planned this trip for almost a year and I was always impressed by PVR. Whenever I had a question, they were quick to respond. All communication was done via email before our stay and went smoothly. Not long before our trip, I requested to add one more days stay and it was no problem at all. The check in process upon arrival was easy thanks to the directions provided. When we left the home after vacation, my Husband learned that he had left his wedding ring at the home. He was on the flight home when he realized it. PVR went above and beyond to locate his ring and return it to us! I can't tell you how grateful we are to the staff and housekeeping of PVR.
