I've had varied experiences over the years with Enloe, but this very recent one was really bad. I had a biopsy yesterday (3/10/26) on my right kidney for a possible cancerous mass. Leading up to this event I was terrified. I'm more afraid of diagnostic procedures than the diseases they're supposed to uncover. I called the hospital three times in the two and a half weeks before the procedure seeking reassurance that I wouldn't be in any pain or minimal pain at worst. I was told all three times that they'd take care of me and I wouldn't be in any pain. I'd be given conscious sedation. For some reason I wasn't reassured. I was terrified and sick with fear just thinking about it all. My fears were dismissed. I was being silly and hysterical about a simple procedure that was virtually painless. I'll bet you know what's coming next. When I got there yesterday I was prepped and then, an hour late, I was wheeled into the room where the procedure was to be done. I was positioned in the CT scanner face down. Someone gave me a shot of lidocaine and without waiting for numbing agent to kick in the doctor started punching a needle in my back immediately--five times in all. They'd connected a line to the IV in my arm, but I didn't feel anything go through it. I started crying from the intense stinging, burning pain as soon as the doctor began. At the third pass I begged for "more" medication. A technician indicated that she was complying with my request, but I knew she hadn't. I didn't feel any change in my level of pain. At some point a young woman thrust her smiling face into mine and trilled, "Go to your safe place! Think of lying on a sunny beach!" I managed to mumble that I'd never lain upon a sunny beach in my life. I will admit the doctor worked quickly and the procedure didn't seem to take more than 10 minutes even tho' that brief period comprised some of the most excruciating few minutes of my life. One of the young men in the room tried to make a joke after it was over and I snarled that I wasn't exactly in a mood to laugh about things. The only person who showed me some compassion was the nurse who had prepped me. When I came back to recovery, she shot some morphine through my IV and I could finally relax. I was given a number to call if I had any questions during the rest of this week. I called this morning to confirm my suspicion that I hadn't received any pain medication at all and I was told that was correct. It's protocol at Enloe Medical Center to not provide pain medication for biopsies. I wouldn't discourage anyone from having a biopsy when you need one, but don't expect it to be painless. What I'm most angry about is that they lied to me on the phone and during the procedure. read more

Think twice if you go to the emergency room for help- the nurses will call the cops and charge their own disoriented, obviously in crisis patients with battery and try to put them in jail. I have never seen such a group of uncaring, unsympathetic and unskilled nurses as the nightshit crew. I am truly disgusted and will never return there again- no matter what. read more

This is the most unorganized hospital ever! The rooms are dirty. Dr came in and discharged my husband and it took them 2 1/2 hours to come in and get him unhooked from everything so we could leave. No doubt we will be charged an extra day due to thier incompetence. Do yourself a favor and schedule surgery in Sacramento instead. They have a few good hospitals there. read more

Evil I was harassed upon arrival and threatened with a weapon by security they tired to take my first review down this is my second one

I have had 2 Siezures in the last week. I stayed for a day the first seizure and never saw a neurosurgeon. Had my 2nd seizure day later because they decided to not prescribe me any anti seizure medicine. I am currently on my second day after my second seizure and still have no visit from the neurosurgeon. I am going insane from anxiety and nobody has any answers. some of the nurses are rude because I am impatient from anxiety and a tumor on the frontal lobe of my brain. read more

I'm writing this review to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses and support staff at Enloe Hospital for the excellent treatment I received last weekend. I was pleased by the professionalism of the paramedics in transporting me to the hospital and with the expertise, efficiency of the Emergency Room staff, the Telemetry Care Unit and the various other departments that helped with my treatment. The compassion and caring of all involved was so appreciated. We are lucky to have such a top notch hospital in Chico. read more

I was sent by rapid care to go to enloe. I was in very bad pain. The nurse that cared for me wasvery nice. (Kim) i had test done found out i have gullstones. Dr ivan lian was a very short. He told me to come back if my eyes turned yellow or a fever started. WHAT!!? My husband and i were in the room almost five hours. Dr liang came in the room said. I will send you home with pain meds. I never pick up. He said i told him my left side hurt. That is a lie. My whole stomach was hurting. I got up ready to leave. Some nurse or whatever she was came and closed my door. Mind you the door was open the whole time. I ask her to leave the door open In a very nasty tone she said NO! THE PERSON NEXT TO ME WAS on his cell phone the 5 hours we were in the room. There was only a yellow cover between my room and his friend who was being treated.i look out in the hallway all other patients rooms doors are wide open. This whatever she was never smiled never. She must have been having a bad day or. That is how she is NASTY! i was upset the way she treated my husband and myself. I made a comment. Boy she is lucky i feel so bad. I would have put her in her place. My nurse came in took out my IV.I said to my nurse what is wrong with her? Kim said i don't know. We walk out by ourselfs. I read in a report it said.. security walk us out. That is a lie. I called security the next day at 9:58 am. He said, no security walk anyone out that day. I'm now going to see my attorney for. False comments in my record. File a complaint with the medical board. I found out the DR who was or should i say was the worst DR i have come across. Look him up DR IVAN LIANG. he lost his license in mass. For misdiagnosed a 23 year old male who he sent home died the next morning. read more

Staff is polite but doctor's and nurses lie and misrepresent facts consistently in medical records (multiple patients), and generally don't believe you unless there are objective findings, disregard patient rights, don't read advanced directives and refuse to acknowledge powers of attorney. read more

I took a friend to this hospital, because I received great care in the past there. I won't get into the care part of things. But, seriously you cannot mend or replace the curtains with holes in them? This is about enloe urology, I have dubbed it "the little shop of horrors " They nurse acts as if patient care is an inconvenience. Not very compassionate. Had cystoscopy, catheter both were very very painful. Dr was rough with scope so much so I was screaming in pain. I don't think that they are very experienced or just don't care. 3 months after dr johnson did surgery I am still urinating blood and passing clots. All along they said it was normal, now ,after 3 months of worrying they say it's something else and I should go back to er for further tests. A family member was brought to the er earlier today and spent hours upon hours We understand busy and priority. But this staff is very unprofessional, and the male nurse that was in pod1 tonight was horrible. We will find out his name and update later. Dr Brent Butcher was the Dr who did not perform any test related to her back pain, no x ray or like the male nurse said"we did a CT scan and nothing is wrong with her, but wait didn't you just say she had a uti? Yes, but the CT scan showed nothing. Ok, so we asked our family member if they did a ct scan, and she said I haven't been out of bed all day only to urinate. Then the hospital, when asked why they lied, refused to speak with us anymore and discharged her. After discharging, they lied again and said they called a cab to take her home. An hour later, she was told no cabs are available. Mind you, she has cancer and is blind. This is horrible for people in the medical field to lie about ct scans cabs being called, and nothing is wrong when she has a uti we will go get another opinion and seek advice to stop this malpractice. Lucky for us, we also live in the Bay Area, where there are a lot of resources and advice. We wish any future help needed not to be like ours was. read more

I'm not sure where to start but if you're looking for real medical they wanna act like they're caring for you but the reality is they're not they're not really they're just trying to address symptoms and put a Band-Aid on you. I have only lived in this area for one year and have seen 4 Enloe providers. One great PT guy, one average nurse practitioner, and two below average doctors. The amazing thing is the cost of tests ant treatment. Enloe charges far more than other facilities of its type using creative coding. Additionally, since even its general physician practitioners work out of its facilities it charges sneaky hospital facility rates and supplemental fees for regular visits. Do yourself a favor instead of putting up with subpar care for outrageous costs, make the drive to Sacramento. It is a pain, I know. But I am much happier with the care I receive there. read more

Waited 4 hours in pain only to be put in a fast track room for an hour and still no doctor. By the time I get to the bus stop I get an alert on my phone saying I have been unsubscribed from Enloe Text Messages. Unprofessional. Unless you dying no need for them to rush. I watched them put people in front on me that came after me. I was sick and in severe pain only to not be seen and told to have a good day like it was a joke. Just spent another couple of days at Enloe Hospital and, once again, everything went as welll as could be expected. Due to COVID, the weight to be seen was quite long but once it was my turn they took great care of me. Doctors were knowledgeable and explained their decision to my satisfaction. The nurses, as always, were amazing. They were helpful, gentle and took great care of me. The food was healthy and tasty. I came out alive and I thank Enloe Hospital for that. read more

I have waited a looong time to write this review. My daughter was scheduled for induction of labor. she was only laboring for a few hours when they decided she needed to have a C-section. OK, Doctor knows best. 3 days after being released from the hospital, her c-section scar opened up. the whole thing. for the next month it was daily visits to prompt care and wound care to have her open belly cleaned and packed, then Enloe decided that this new mother, with huge open wound, deep down to her uterus could recover at home where her boyfriend could clean and pack her wound. they felt they had spent enough time on her open belly. In the time that Enloe was treating this horrible mess, she grew three different bacteria one of them being MRSA. And they still sent her home to be tended to by her boyfriend. It took 5 and a half mo. for her scar to heal. And it healed ugly. Enloe is concerned only with how much money they can squeeze out of you and your insurance. Since my daughter was on Medi-cal, that was 1 mo. This place is a disaster. read more

I have been in Enloe Hospital for a procedure and the care I got was adequate. I also was in the ER because I was sick and was told I had pneumonia. The care given to me was excellent. My husband had a heart attack and was given good care except for one thing. He contracted C Diff in the hospital which was alarming. read more

Went to emergency room. The staff lacks hospitality. They are cold & aloof. The Dr. was not through with my injuries. He thought the redness was a result of my injury but I just had ice on it and that was why it was red. He would only treat the one injury and ignored the other, even at my prompting. I went into Enloe after sustaining a rock climbing fall that left me with what I thought was a fractured foot. They gave me an x-ray, glanced at it quickly, and told me I only had soft tissue damage and was fine as long as I stayed off it for a little while. I've fractured my foot twice before so I was skeptical, as I know what it feels like and this seemed like way more than just soft tissue damage. I went to a podiatrist the next day to get a second opinion and they confirmed that it was definitely fractured. Enloe billed me over a couple grand for the x-ray and misdiagnosis... My husband has also been there for a gash in his leg from a mountain biking accident. They stapled it back together. Later, he had another doctor look at it, who told him they should have stitched it instead and at least told him to keep it moist. As it was, they had sent him away with no information or care instructions, so the healing wasn't optimal. read more

I appreciated the honesty out in the front during triage. I had two nurses and the second one named Patty was an amazing nurse! A petite Asian woman who was a total pro and took care of me. Security is a joke, they pester patients and visitors acting rude and condescending. Someone was taking a drink of water and even though they saw she was bring the cup to her lips, they were loudly telling her to put her mask back up. Just ridiculous. My mom and partner were both in patients and most nurses (not all) won't do anything if they can pass it to the CNA. Nurse asked if we needed anything and I asked for towels to bathe my mom and I guess that was just too beneath her. So we had to wait over an hour to have a CNA bring them. God forbid the nurse grab a towel and give it to the payient. 2 stars for the only nurse who was kind and helpful on my mom's stay on her first 2 days in Enloe. But the rest sucked. Surgeons were nice, kind, and called me after my mom's surgery. One good thing was at least my mom had her own room. read more

I would not recommend this hospital. they killed my sister after they used her for experimental surgeries. They are supposed to help you and care for you at a hospital. If I could, I would give zero stars. Me and my girlfriend are from Sacramento and we are attending Chico state. She gets bad headaches that have occurred from years ago. Saturday she went to the hospital because ibuprofen wasn't doing anything. We were there for 12 hours only for them to give her a head CT and to prescribe a 18 year old narcotics and basically said hope for the best. Well, that wasn't working , she would sleep all day and wasn't able to stay awake/do anything because of strong they were. We returned today and they took an unprofessional COVID test and just gave her another opioid basically to make sure we didn't return. She has explained multiple times she didn't feel comfortable taking these types of medication and he didn't give her any other options. Just for the the medication she was given today not to help but maker her terrible and her headache to still be there an hour later. I wouldn't go here again, they don't care about anyone but themselves be careful P.S:Is this is a lawsuit? read more
