While on a staycation, we decided to try out Ensemble, but were disappointed. They have a nice variety of clothing, shoes and bags, but the prices are not worth it for used items. Many of the clothes and shoes were priced so close to new retail value that you might as well buy them new. In addition, the employees were not very friendly or helpful. If you are looking for good consignment shopping, I suggest heading over to Mount Pleasant or West Ashley! read more

I have purchased several items here but I mostly just pop in to drop off a few things here and there. The store is super cute and always smells fantastic! Every experience I have had in the store has been great. The owner is super professional, personable and she takes great pride in her business. The store is super cute with lots of different options and really fun high end pieces. If you are in Charleston you have to go check it out. You won't be disappointed. This is one of the most well curated, well priced consignment shops that I've ever been to and that's saying a lot coming from Los Angeles. The girls and I found so much while we were here-it was a highlight of our trip! I only wish that we had one back home in L.A. I am surprised that Yelp gave Ensemble Consignment Boutique an one-$ sign. Most of the tops here are $40-80 and dresses are even more (1 star off). There are some cute outfits, but I would rather buy new if the clothes here are priced that high. In addition, the sales associate was trying to get me to try on some skirts when I didn't want to (1 star off). The sales associate has never met me, so why would she know what type of skirts that I like? I think this store serves a niche population, but unfortunately, it's not the right consignment store for me. read more

Honestly this should be a much higher rating. The owner is very friendly, the selection is fantastic, and the prices are reasonable for the brands, but the SMELL in there is overwhelming. Apparently she pipes in scent through the vents. It's strong enough to cause an instant headache, and it completely permeates all of the clothes. I have items purchased from there that I've washed *multiple* times and can't get the scent out of. Other things had to be dry cleaned. Forget trying to get it out of shoes. Those items have transferred scent into my other clothes as well, it's very frustrating. These are not cheap items; they are higher end designer brands. I don't mind a little scent in a store but not when it actually damages the clothing and shoes. I've never experienced anything like this in any other clothing or shoe store! read more

This consignment store, albeit relatively small, is full of beautifully-curated designer pieces, ranging from Stuart Weitzman to Chanel. Ensemble is located just off of busy King Street, and it was worth the trek in to see what was on sale. I will say that there is not a huge selection because of the size of the store. There were very few items sized Large or higher. The prices also seemed a tad high for secondhand, but many of the pieces were new with tags so that is important to factor in. This is a really great consignment store if you like trendy designer names for less. I came in with 3 of my friends and we all bought something. I wish I had donated my clothes to the goodwill. I never got paid anyway! I was never given a comprehensive list of the clothes they choose to take out of the of items I brought in. The sales girl told me that with the clothes I had- I should consider bringing them elsewhere. I understand they have specific things they are looking for, but her tone was rather rude, and she was unmistakably insinuating other things about my clI thought she might have just had a bad day, or been judging me by my super casual outfit, but she misjudged me completely, and that is incredibly unprofessional regardless! She overlooked several designer items - some that hadn't even been warn and were under a year old. I only saw one of my items on the Instagram, where I was assured I'd be able to see if any my pieces sold. That item did sell. I asked about payment twice via Instagram and was never paid after giving my Venmo information to them. I detest having to write this review because I enjoy supporting local businesses and boutiques, plus it takes energy and time from my day, but this was a bit too ridiculous to go undocumented for people considering consigning items here. -- After writing this review I was immediately attacked on Instagram messenger, and note the comment below. No one has addressed the stack of clothes I left.. I was paid for one item. There is no record or anything else of course, which is MY fault. I should have insisted on a list or proof of some sort. I'm not trying to be ridiculous, just warn future customers to pay attention. I also completely understand stores have regulations on what clothing they take- Some times it also has to do with the season and how modern the clothes are of course. My clothes were majority high-end designer brands, and many newer items as I stated. The sales girl did in fact select multiple items to take regardless. These are really tough times for everyone, but this experience happened prior to covid. It's shameful to use a pandemic as an excuse to have poor business practices. Your city reopened retail by the time I reached out for payment again, so the comment below isn't even valid. I'm sorry if the review timing is inconvenient for your company and I do understand that reopening is a slow and difficult process, but attacking a customer on several social media platforms for posting an honest review speaks to the unprofessionalism I experienced from the start. I have to stand by my decision to leave this review posted. Had your customer service been decent even in reaction to this poor experience (honestly, even the comment below is better than dming someone's personal account to attack them for writing a review) I would have adjusted it! I don't like writing bad reviews- it's NOT a good feeling. This has become one of the only places I shop. Living in Charleston there are a lot of options for cute clothes, but King Street is pretty pricey and has gotten so corporate. Ensemble is a great local option to get one of a kind finds. And even though it is technically Consignment, I usually get awesome designer items, brand new with tags! The owner is so helpful, and makes shopping super easy. I usually purchase off of her Instagram, and can pull right up and she runs my items out to me. Which is very helpful right now during Covid.. I also love the sustainability of consignment shopping. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to shop local, designer, unique and affordable! read more

I found this incredible, unique, upscale consignment shop, 'Ensemble', on James Island after I had my nails done at the shop next door. Wow, is all I can say. There was very little in this great shop that I did not find appealing. I ended up buying four pairs of shoes, a jacket, earrings and two blouses and got everything for next to nothing! Everything is designer label and some things look like they had never been worn. The next time I go back to Folly Beach, I can guarantee I'll go back and do some more shopping! read more

Kristen is so Fun! Ensemble Consignment is well organized and full of color! Amazing pieces, amazing atmosphere, and amazing prices! I am fifty years old and my daughter is eighteen years old, we both purchased several pieces! There is something for all ages at Ensemble! We were in Charleston to see a concert at The Charleston Music Hall, we went in to Ensemble to browse. After five minutes of introduction and an explanation of her shop, Kristen immediately tuned into a Spotify station playing the music of the band we were seeing later! What a special jester, that is just a testament to Kristen's true character. Twice now I've gone to Ensemble for last minute wedding dresses and I have not left disappointed. The clothes are unique, affordable, and in excellent condition. The employees are so helpful, I must've spent an hour trying on different outfits that were brought to me, they really make the time to find what works for you, better service than I've ever received at a retail store. Went with girlfriends while in town for a girls getaway weekend. Almost didn't try it out based on previous Yelp reviews (i.e. geared toward teenagers, etc) and we would have missed out! The store itself was light and bright and well laid out - not like a lot of other consignment shops. The owner was so cute and helpful and the clothes were geared toward all ages - lots of designer items and well priced. We bought a bunch of really cute clothes and shoes (brand new Tory Burch boots - steal of the weekend!) So surprised that Charleston does not have more consignment shops - this one was a winner! read more

I was desperate to find a few dresses to wear to a wedding / wedding activities a few months ago and decided to try Ensemble. I absolutely LOVE this store! The owner offered up so much assistance and I ended up leaving with four dresses! I have since returned for various items of a more casual nature and thoroughly enjoy the reasonable prices for higher-end brands. The store is clean, organized and well appointed.
