Sheet rock repair outside of apartment. hallway Carpet stinks from mold, vomit, feces & urine. Elevator carpet stinks too.

Third world treatment of property & customer service to population of elderly (over 55). - All the negative reviews are true! Been a resident for five months. - no ac in August 2023 for 3 days, - middle of the night false fire alarms screeching and blaring. Residents are woken up at 2 and 3 am. Evacuation of apartment is mandatory. This happened twice in past four months. - Requests for water leak repairs are shoddy. Entire closet by front door had two water leaks on floor, shelves & wall. Closet contents are removed to prevent further damages! Mold is growing everywhere. - Zero hot water in apartment since 11/1/23. Can't bathe or wash dishes. Wound care problems exist for residents wo hot water. I'm in process of reaching out to following to improve living conditions unfit for a sewer rat: code compliance, Fair Housing, Texas Dept of health, local tv station,,,,in fact, I feel like Erin Brochovitz! - Residents band together to get resolution of property problems. Feeling it's a war between management & residents to get any resolution. - If you like being ghosted with legitimate issues, then this is the place to spend the rest of your life. Get used to work orders being cancelled wo repair/resolution, unanswered emails, vm. Mgmt offices are always locked and phone calls go unanswered. Feels like a boot camp.

I can't say enough lovely things about this facility!!…read more My mother was placed at a terrible rehab facility after breaking her leg and I was scrambling to find her a new spot to transfer. After learning the terrible rehab facility had lied to me about submitting my mother's paperwork to be transferred, Linda was beyond kind and attentive in helping me. She even spoke to the terrible facility for me on the phone and quickly got my mother transferred to Coronado. People like Linda who care and help you when you need it are very special. :) When you walk in, it feels like a hotel! The ladies at the front desk always greet you with a smile and acknowledge you with a warm welcome. Which may seem little but means a lot when you're stressed and worried about visiting your loved one. They also have a gorgeous courtyard area, library, lobby, gift shop, Chapel, dining room, activity center, rehab facility, coffee area and hair salon! My mother also had a beautiful little outdoor patio area that was inside the enclosed courtyard. The entire staff has been exceptional in caring for my mother but my mother's day to day nurse, Chantal, was a guardian angel. Every time I saw her come into my mother's room she was smiling and had a kind and positive attitude. Nursing is a tough job but seeing someone who loves their job and goes above and beyond for your loved one is all you ever want. The relief to leave at night, knowing your family member is in good hands is all my family ever wanted and Coronado gave us that with her help and the rest of the truly caring team. Linda, Chantal, Howard, Joe, Stephanie, and I know I'm missing a few others, I want to say thank you. My family and I are truly grateful for this wonderful facility and the team behind it. :)

Michael was the Nurse on duty he was very polite I don't remember the CNA name she was in and out. Friday the 30th I was introduced to several staff ( I was there for Rehab) , My PT was very professional and knowledgeable as well as understanding as well as the Babe Ruth blessing to the rehab team. Now I will speak the fist and second shift Nurses I have no complaint.... the night shift Nurse Lucy I would not let her take care of my worst enemy reason is On August 2nd my sister brought me some dinner due to them bringing my tray 30-40 or more minutes after they bringing my roommates and it was always cold there was a few times I got something different.... Back to why I am writing this review Lucy the night came to give me my nightmares. It was around 7:20pm my sister asked do they always give y'all nightmares this early I said yeah for the most normally I look my pill cup because twice I had to say something about my medication that I was not taking. I took my medication minutes. I had told my to go ahead and go because I was feeling tired which I did take a nighttime sleeping pill after my left. I sat there and I started feeling like my body was up next thing I know it I had had a everywhere. I didn't put because they're not good at and I could not wait for someone to answer it earlier that I put my on at 5:12 PM and The the Mail African Nurse did not come into my room till around seven he did apologize my sister said yes I guess two hours later back to my back to where I'm writing this review I tried to make it to the toilet, but I made it to a trashcan from there. I made it to the bathroom. I remember sitting on the toilet and pulling the car bill, but that's all I remember. I don't know how long I laid in the bathroom floor. Someone came and found me while laying there. I'm not only having bad bowel movement. I'm throwing up and slime or something was coming all out of my nose. The first thing to CNA said to me was how did you get down there? I'm trying to explain to them I did not know, but my body was burning up and I just wanted to take a shower with cold water. With cold water so they tried to get me up off of the floor and they were very rough Lucy and the night CNA that was on that hall no vitals were taken and being a CNA myself for 22+ years I know you don't remove a person on the floor until vinyls are taken so once they get me up, they wipe me with some wipe. Or should I say half with some wipes put it in the bed the me a diaper at first I refuse I said go ahead. I'm asking them to call my sister. They would not call my sister so I asked for my cell phone. Lucy got my cell phone out of the bathroom and just set it on the bedside table. That's when I called my sister told my sister what was going on my sister said did they take your vitals? I said no so my sister on speakerphone she telling The Nurse Lucy you should've never lifted her without taking her vitals so Lucy comes in with the she takes my vitals. My blood pressure is 85/46. I can't remember my pulse. My sister told Lucy call her ambulance and sent her out. Lucy statement was no it's not an emergency. She'll be OK so my sister proceeded with me on the phone to call the front. A male African nurse answer the phone and my sister was trying to explain to him what was going on. He told my sister that it was not an emergency and if they come, not an emergency our family will be by sister was llivid, well then my sister asked me. Did they take my blood sugar? I said no so she asked The Nurse to take the nurse took my blood sugar and myself, and my sister asked what was it she would not show it to her. She comes back in the room with a maybe a 4 to 6 ounce thing of orange juice telling me to drink it so once again, I asked her what was my blood sugar she still would not so I drank the orange juice. She took my blood sugar and it 237 or 247. She gonna turn around to face me now and walk away the EMS came and asked that I still want to be transferred out because they were told that I said I didn't wanna go, which is another one of their lies that they told that I said I fell. I ended up with a knock on my head, but I don't remember falling, but I must have to have that not that big. This is all in the bathroom. I kind of went back so everybody would understand the EMS driver said OK well, we'll transfer you. What do you want to go? Well I picked to go to Northeast Baptist. Was told they could not take me there due to the reading the EKG found out the reading was because my heart was pumping very slow. Lucy is very disrespectful. She's very unkind and presents to be kind. I would not trust her, so I'm not gonna blame. Everyone at Coronado I'm just calling out who should be called out if you put your loved one in there please and I do mean please make sure you go up there and check on them

We have even had several meetings and conversations with the Administration (many times with no response). We would like to know if anyone has experienced issues with any of the following: getting responses from administration ; administering of medications, such as overdosing, not being given on schedule, or/as prescribed ; making changes to Physicians Orders (meds, changing original prescribing doctors, changing number of refills as prescribed by original doctors) without notifying family and original prescribing dr's. ; the Emergency Call Wireless Pendent not working for extended periods of time and on many occasions a lack of adequate response time ; ordering of prescription drugs and over the counter meds without family approval ; lack of adequate staffing to provide the services and care they say are included in the rental charges and level of care fees ; being overcharged and or not responding to billing questions and questions regarding auto withdrawals & checks from Dad's bank ; getting resident, who they knew could not see, to sign document(s) ; experience with Licensed Nurse not being on call 24/7 (as stated in literature provided) to ensure oversight of issues at night and weekends if needed. These are just a few of the concerns we have had. In my opinion, the techs try their best but the understaffing and lack of scheduling, availability and support from the administration is pathetic.

This facility offers all levels of care with the option of buying-in or renting. I lived there for…read more5-1/2 years and moved out recently after buying-in. I really thought this was the place I would live the rest of my life. I learned about Blue Skies in 2015 and compared it to other similar communities. Blue Skies remained on the top of my list over time. There are several things that prospective residents must consider before committing to signing a contract. The organization's business/finance practices are not at all good. Poor business practices include lack of transparency to residents regarding pricing of apartments/homes (it is a secret), and lack of coordination between various departments when moving in or out. In my case, I requested and was allowed an in-house move to a different apartment. I did have access to the "secret" apartment price list and assumed I would be paying the listed price for my new apartment. Imagine my surprise, after spending $2000 for a move, and just over a month AFTER my move, I find out the price of my new apartment is $257/mo MORE than what is listed on the price list. I never received any documentation before or during the move that informed me of the new rent rate - a violation of the contract that states a resident must be informed of any rent increase in writing at least 30 days prior to the new rate taking effect. Unfortunately for me, I did sign a lease addendum that showed the new price. PLEASE - do not do what I did! I almost didn't sign the addendum because the rent amount was much higher than I anticipated. I should have consulted an attorney then. I did do that later and found out that I should not have signed the addendum because I was never informed in writing of the new rent price. Also, there is significant financial mismanagement of resident accounts. I received 2 outrageous debits on a monthly statement. It was impossible to speak to or email an individual in the Finance Department to discuss my concerns. My voicemails went unreturned and emails never received a response necessitating my going to the assistant resident director for help. An issue regarding a $1369 erroneous charge was corrected, but only after the assistant resident director contacted the Finance Department - where he received an immediate pick-up of his phone call. Additionally, I had to confirm it was, in fact, an erroneous charge after the person from Finance asked: "Is she sure this is incorrect?" I was livid! The assumption from this Finance Department is that every entry they make on a resident's statement is correct, and it's up to the resident to prove them wrong. Currently, I am in the midst of attempting to get a refund of MY money for an incorrect rent overcharge for November 2025. Despite disputing the amount of this debit via my bank, Blue Skies Finance states that I approved the amount. I DID NOT! Because of their response to the bank stating this, my bank closed the dispute. I'm currently exploring other options for getting this corrected. And just know that rent money is not all the money they actually owe me. Please, just be VERY CAREFUL if you decide on Blue Skies as your next home. Look at other continuing care communities in the San Antonio area. There are also very nice 55+ communities in the area, with more being built. Blue Skies prices are the most expensive, or close to it.

Driving into the complex there is a gate guard so you have to have a specific purpose or appointment to even enter the premises. As you walk into The Mission, which is the building where my mother is, there are more security measures in place. The doors are always locked and opened by ringing reception. Then you must stop at reception and sign in electronically so you can be issued a pass. You know what there isn't!?! Adult diaper smell! Hospital smell! Old people smell!!! It is set up beautifully with separate halls dedicated to different attend to different issues. The level of care is second to none. EVERYONE is kind and pleasant. I have seen more humanity and patience here than ever before in my life. The level of dignity they treat the patients with is heartwarming. Their attention to detail is such a welcome quality... there are not enough wonderful adjectives to describe my experience with my mother here. I know there is independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and rehab here.. I think they also offer palliative and hospice care. If you have a loved one that you find yourself needing help with, I highly recommend this facility!!!

My grandmother doesn't have much that she can enjoy anymore but one of the few things she can enjoy is great food. The dining room is very inconsistent, and has a very high turnover rate. Not only is their food quality not resort style like they advertise but what they do cook- you better hurry- because they don't make enough of it. Another area that could use some addressing is the planning of Sunday meals (many families) and holidays... often the residents who don't have family come get left with scraps if they're not down there early enough to fight the crowd. There should be a separate eating area or food saved aside to guarantee they get the SAME meal that was advertised on the menu.
