I protested and they rejected it and charged my card. Beware of this office and inspect any rental you get with this office thoroughly. I had a positive experience with other Sixt offices, but this was very deceptive. I feel I was treated very dishonestly.

I have excess insurance so will be reimbursed, however, hire at your peril. Only €1.30 a day hire when rental is quiet means you will have a FRAUDULENT claim on your credit card from this company to make up profits! In past I would recommend these to anyone as I have had 10x rentals this year with no problems but at a regular cost of about€12 a day. BE WARY OF THIS RENTAL COMPANY in Alicante Airport.
