I can see why Enterprise has been called out on Discrimination of Seniors. At the Coon Rapids location the manager said to "look online" that it did state what you need to rent a car. I did and it did not say they do not accept a Master card Debit card...It states on line they do Accept a Master card debit card. In addition they only accept a "payroll check" of which I am a Senior and provided a current statement and proof My monthly Social Security Deposit , offering to show my bank account and how it is consistently deposited. Reserved a luxury car, they tried to give me a Chevy Malibu and charge me more than quoted. Additionally, the manager was extremely rude and unprofessional on the phone. As a platinum tier renter, I'd expect better customer service. This was the worst management I've experienced renting across the country. She has been a godsend in this whole Crap show since my daughter and I were T-bones by somebody running a red light. Emma has made every effort with a smile and an upbeat voice to make everything go smoothly and she succeeded. Avoid this place. I made a reservation weeks ago, called that morning to verify and arrived at 1:30 PM. They gave the car I reserved to another client a half hour before. They tried to pawn off a smaller vehicle on me, but it would not work for our needs. This has never happened to me before at enterprise, in fact I am used to a free upgrade. But this location is totally inept, not to mention incredibly rude. Chris was sarcastic and no help at all. Why reserve a vehicle if they don't hold it for you? I was recently rear ended by a driver and was given a rental while my truck was repaired. The repair took a long time due to many delays on parts and the insurance agency paying for the repairs told Enterprise that they need to start collecting rental fee's from the shop. Michael Vezies who is the manager at this location then instead of charging the body shop then started calling me and harassing me stating I need to pay them now otherwise he is going to confiscate my rental. I am a disabled vet and have never been treated so poorly from a company in my life (Google shows this is not the first time he has done this to costumers). I informed him of what he already knew that he needs to collect from the shop and insurance paying for the costs and not the victim in the situation and he proceeded to treat me like I was a criminal and saying he will send this to collections then and the next day sent me a bill for the rental. I now see why Yelp has them at 1.5 stars because this was the worst customer satisfaction I have ever experienced in my life. I now have to pay out of my own packet for the rental when I was the victim in the situation and further action is being taken. Go do a different rental shop if you have the chance. I would hate for someone else to be treated this way. read more

i cannot even give this company a 1 star rating but i had no option to go lower. someone was suppose to meet me at the collision center at a specified time, 5 minutes prior to arriving they called me to tell me they would be late (not impressed). Proceeded to tell me that i would still need to pay 8.50 plus taxes and fees for the rental that was authorized as an upgrade by progressive (other insurance company of the person who hit me). I told them no and to bring me a different vehicle. Yep, they had NO other vehicles to offer me. They would not waive the excess fee that progressive was suppose to be taking care of. After waiting 20 minutes past the time that was set to get such rental, i had to take my smashed vehicle back home with me as i had no other way to get there. Not impressed again. Makes me think the staff is trying to line their own pockets by scamming customers. If i ever need a rental car in the future for my own choice, i WILL NEVER to through enterprise. i think a call to their corporate office is next on my list of things to do. VERY POOR customer service. again, not impressed. read more

I had to jump through hoops to rent a car. I was told over the phone that I needed my ID and a credit card. When I got there, they said that they needed a copy of my utility bill and a bank statement that shows a current pay stub. AND they would not accept my credit card because it had the word "DEBIT" on the card. It works as a credit card any other place, why wouldn't it work here? So, I had to use their computer to log-in to my utility company and my bank on the internet so that I could prove and print the verifying information. The cost was above the price that I was quoted by $140.00... That's a lot of money when you are not planning for it!!! They accepted the amount of a quote that I found online ($29.99/day with $11.00/day insurance, total $119.96), but when I proceeded with payment, they jumped the insurance to $46.00/day which came to a total of $303.96. I thought it unfair to overcharge me, but what could I do? I already had travel plans and a schedule to keep, so I had to pay it. I will never do business with this company again. There are other rental companies, so I will choose one of them. Even if I have to drive further to get the vehicle. One good point of the experience was that I had a nice car and it was good on gas. read more

Due to car repairs, I was given a rental. Enterprise put me in a car that stunk (think 6 pack a day smell covered by air fresher smell), the tires didn't hold air, and the windshield wipers did not clear the windshield. When I called to ask about switching, I was told I would have to pay an extra fee per day. When I said I just wanted to swap to a vehicle with safer tires, their solution was to drive to a Firestone and have them put air in the tires. I called my insurance company, they called Enterprise and was told someone would call me back with a new vehicle that day. No one called. I called the next morning and was again told I would need to pay an extra fee. My insurance company finally got through to them (now 4th call!) and Enterprise agreed to get me a vehicle that was safer. I'm not holding my breath since I do not have this one in my possession yet, but so far VERY disappointed in how I've been treated. Will never rent from them again! read more

My husband reserved a car on line for May 18th at 10:30. When we got there they said there was no car available. So sorry. They left a voice message on the 17th asking for a call back so they could go over the method of payment, documents needed and other details. Nothing was said about reconfirming the reservation. He did not get the message and would not have called as we have rented many times from their store. Their comment was there were no cars available. Guess if we had called earlier they would have said the reservation was cancelled and given us more time to find another car. As it turned out we went about a mile down the street to Avis and were able to get a car. The Avis man was very nice and helpful. Enterprise had no interest in helping us. read more

I normally go to Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Coon Rapids whenever I need to rent a car and I usually have no problems. Until today, I called to rent a vehicle and I was transferred to someone who could barely speak english, couldn't get the dates right of when I needed the rental and who kept forgetting my name. I ended up hanging up because I became so frustrated with this person! I have never been treated so horrible on the phone by this company. Even the woman who answered the phone at the Coon Rapids branch was rude and I felt like my business was inconveniencing her. I'm a regular renter at the Coon Rapids location. The staff is always friendly and very helpful.

The rental was quick and the service was friendly, it was the final billing which was poor. I checked my credit card statement and they charged me for an extra day's rental. It was dropped off during after hours with the key drop and was assured that was OK. I went to the location and the branch manager said he would reverse the charges. I checked my statement two days after he told me it would be fixed and still no credit. Today I called the branch and have to check back in two days or call again if not reversed. This is not a good way to do business, I may never rent with them again and take my business else where. read more

As a Gold Member, I expect to have a clean car inside and out. Especially if I went there for business/leisure quite frequently. I have been renting on and off for a few months with usually exceptional service with the rate and the familiar Mgrs. / Reps. Lately, I have received a few cars that were missing a hubcap, duck tape residue on the door all 4 doors, to not looking or smelling clean and having to switch out before leaving. Now with me booking in advance I and/or doing a weekend rate being in close proximity, it is very convenient. I had a not so pleasant experience with a new rep who mentioned she knew my name & I was familiar, but still wanted to go back and forth over a rate that was offered to me and pre-confirmed by 3 others ( 2 mgrs/1 mgr. trainee) who I mentioned by name. After her going back and forth, and searching for extra paperwork as if I was exaggerating about my rate, she adjusted my rate ( which is also on previous rentals which I asked her to check) and mention that stains in the vehicle seemed permanent ( some were ketchup like crusted which means they were not cleaned, it would leave a lighter flat stain is it had been) since I use to detail cars I can say this. She mentioned she'll make a note, and that they wanted someone to come get the car. Why then rent it out to a gold member customer ( or anyone) if you know it's not satisfactory? No one wants to experience that! Bad look for Enterprise. On my way, the mgr. trainee ( who is also new but handles my RSVPs with the professionalism I expect) came out a greeted me, and I said, "well there he is , can you go over the previous rate with her?" I had just mentioned you. He says, " Oh, Yes ". "The ____ rate. Sure thing. See you soon!' Not sure what this young ladies issue was, but giving any customer attitude ( new or returning ) and acting skeptical with me, a valued customer who has a good relationship with the location is disgusting! I will be looking into other options for business rentals if they can't be more consistent with professional personalities, and service. read more

I called and rented a Mini-Van on December 7th, 2015 for travel on Dec 24th to Jan 1st 2016. When I arrived and said my name for a pickup for the said Min-van, the associate at the front counter turned and looked at the manager in the back of the store. They began discussing my rental and the associate came back to the counter to tell me that they did not have my rental and they could offer me 2 vehicles that would seat the same number of people. My vacation was to take my kids and mother (75 Yrs old) to Montana skiing. (No my mother was not going to ski). I told the associate that 2 vehicles would not suffice and I would like the Minivan (Do I really want my mother or my 16 yr old kid to drive these vehicles? The 16 year old can't drive as rental companies require you to be 25, duh). I even rec'd a notification on the 23rd stipulating it was a reminder to pick up the mini-van on the 24th. I then told the associate that I made the reservation, I rec'd a confirmation back for the minivan and the dates of the rental. I then said "what good is a reservation if you can't keep it" Why would someone reserve something, then be told it was reserved if it meant nothing? She then said " I am trying to handle this in an adult like manner" I said really? It is the day before Christmas, I have spent thousands on hotels rooms, lift tickets and gear to take my family skiing and you tell me you have broken my reservations without discussing it with me? she again came up with, "You can take these two cars" I again said this is ridiculous. I left and drove my old suburban which broke down outside of Billings ( I knew it had issues and that's why I rented a vehicle) The breakdowns are not Enterprises fault, but I had already made the reservations for the hotels and paid for lift tickets. I have travelled extensively for 25 years, I was at executive level with National, My business rents from Enterprise all the time, I have never had this type of arrogance or poor customer service ever. read more
