The location at 160 East Hillsboro Blvd, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441 is the WORST location for renting a car.... They give you a great rate on a rental and then when you show up NO car is available. They don't give you a phone call, very discourteous. Then you are asked to be put on a waiting list (2-4 hours). Took a Uber there and then had to take one back home. They seemed very disconcerting and disrespectful of your time. They then, did this to the next 3 customers that followed me, that also had reservations. After my car accident, I rented from them, only for my rental car to get towed from my own house after a week because they gave me a car with an EXPIRED LICENSE TAG. I had to chase them for over 48 hours to even get my belongings back and another rental car and they DID NOTHING. I ended up having to go to the towing company myself and retrieve my stuff. Meanwhile, I had to rely on Uber for TWO DAYS, and they promised to reimburse me for the Ubers AND the rental fees. Guess what? They only paid for the Ubers. Their customer service? A complete joke. They had me on hold forever and clearly avoided answering my calls because they knew I was rightfully furious. The people at the Deerfield location on Hillsboro Blvd are LIARS. I spoke to Briar at 1:16pm yesterday, and he said he'd have a car ready for me at 4:30. When I left work early (because he lied and said the branch closes at 5, when the website says they close at 6), he told me they didn't have ANY vehicle available. When asked if another location had one, he said, "No, because of the hurricane, no branch has any cars right now." I rented a convertible to surprise my wife for an anniversary beach trip. Two weeks before the pick up I had my confirmation which specified Ford Mustang or similar. When I got to the counter, I was told all they had was a Toyota Corolla. I spent an hour and a half waiting on some apathetic, completely detached reps who clearly couldn't care less about the situation I was thrown into. "It's very hard to get a convertible and your rate was really low" is what they kept repeating. Which is the point of a RESERVATION I thought. So they were either saying that 1) enterprise flat out lies to get you in the door or 2) they lamented the rate they offered online in retrospect and changed their minds. Next I called the 800 customer service number and spoke to a woman there while I was standing at the counter. This proved an effort in maintaining sanity as this woman was also not interested in what was happening while superficially apologizing multiple times but actually doing nothing. She spoke very little English so that was not helpful. I told her several times that I was standing at the counter at the actual location. At one point she said, please let me know when you get there. I said I have been here, as I have mentioned several times. Then she said she is sending a message to the manager. I said he's right in front of me. Then she asked to talk to him. I gave him the phone, and he became even more confused than I had been, while the woman on the phone still could not figure out what was happening. So the enterprise representative just hung up the phone and gave it back to me. He told me he was still working on it and disappeared. I never heard from him again and walked out after an hour and a half. Pathetic. Unacceptable. I knew customer service was getting bad, but this is communist country bad. It's a shame to see an American company like this behaving like a third world country company. Never enterprise rent a car for me or my family again (and some of my friends with whom I've shared the experience). Added 6/17 in response to enterprise: you have my reservation number. Booked a car on line, as any car. Called for a pick up and asked for a cute small car. Had to call an hour after pick up time, as I was not picked up. Try your luck with a different company. It took them a month to issue me a refund. I returned the car on 6/26 and received refund on 7/24. **Just don't prepay anything!! Horrible customer service as well. I called numerous times. The only way I got service was by going in person! Because they'd put me on hold or transfer me to an incorrect department. On one occasion they had no cars and the other they refused to answer the phone to arrange a pickup and when I got there despite at least one open reservation (mine) they closed early. I had to uber there because they wouldn't pick up the phone so then I had to uber to the airport to get a car. With having to return the car at the airport because they are worthless and uber back home to my car. I spent more than it costs to rent the car, to get the car. Some of the worst customer service I've seen at a rental car facility and they are not taking Covid-19 seriously at all. The solitary attendant left us waiting without explanation, then offered us a just-returned car because the one we reserved wasn't ready. I'll emphasize that the car being offered was *just recently* returned. He said he would give the car a 10-minute clean before handing it over to us. This, when Enterprise is advertising all the deep cleaning protocols they have in place because of Covid-19. Vacuuming a car for 10 minutes while your mask is falling off your face is not a Covid-safe protocol. We canceled our reservation and took our business to another rental car company where we found professionalism and a company taking a pandemic seriously. My experience at this Enterprise Rent A Center was phenomenal!!!! They have new management!!! Eric the newest sales agent was beyond friendly, attentive, and so very helpful!!! I was in and out under 15 minutes and I loved his positive energy. He provided me with an upgrade after I didn't get my first choice car and he remembered me when I called to extend for one more day!!!! When I dropped off, he was there again and asked me about my rental. In customer service or in life, it is the little things that matter the most. Flexible with the drop off, gave me an upgrade for free; however when dropping off the car the gentleman sent me to another location to get dropped off to my vehicle. I drove 30 minutes through traffic to the location provided only to get there and they do not provide rides to where I needed to go. The staff there gave me attitude when I expressed my frustration to have to drive through traffic again to another location. I had the worst experience ever. I left my Iphone 8 plus in the car and after 20 minutes we came back and for our surprise the phone was not there anymore. Surprisingly, the app Life 360 and Find my I phone was showing the phone was offline in that location from 9:35am (time we returned the car)until 2:17 pm (time the person who washed the car left the premises. Very interesting, right?? Even with this fact, anyone in this office believed in us, but decided to protect the one who stole our phone. So, my advice is to FLEE from this location, go to anywhere else. read more

First - surprising the customer at point of pickup with an "upgrade" (with additional charges) because they don't have the vehicle you require; failing to process insurance claims in a timely manner; processing credit card charges without authorization or notice to the card holder; and horrible customer service. The manager Shane said he did not have a car for me and was too busy looking for cars since 2 pm to call and notify me. He made it sound like it was my fault and tough luck. I suggested he call call me a Uber and pay for it. He was insulted and said I was wrong to ask him to pay for a Uber!!! Really? I'm alone without a car in a dicy area. Very scary. He said I could come back tomorrow morning at 8 am and he might have a car and asked me to call and remind him. I am a single lady alone without a car. I called enterprise and was told their app did not recognize how many cars they have when booked the same day. I said their app accepted my reservation and sent me two confirmations!! Awful service! I was supposed to get an early morning pickup, nothing. Tried calling for 90 minutes, no answer. I had to get a ride from a friend before they closed at noon. The car was dirty, gas tank less than half full , garbage in glove box , no windshield washer fluid, front tires almost bald. Made a reservation a month in advance to pick up at this location and return to Fort Lauderdale airport. When I arrived at the reserved time there were no cars available and no estimate of when any would be available. I was somewhere down a long waiting list. Almost 24 hours later, while stranded at a hotel, still no cars and no estimate. Never will consider Enterprise again. No excuse for that. There will be plenty of cars when they have no customers.
