another great experience with these guys I've read some of the reviews and I understand the frustration of not getting a car you want. However, Sometimes people don't deliver cars back on time. Bit of a miss between online promises and actual reality IMO it puts a lot of pressure on the in-person staff I had booked an SUV. I also received a call to suggest that they may not have the Car I'd chosen I appreciate that call. anyway in the end I did get one. Super straightforward. Super quick, super easy. Owen and Connor were really lovely. I really like those two. Nice camaraderie, friendly approach. Good representation. Also, whilst I was there they were doing their best to try and find a vehicle for a woman to get some kids to a dance recital. again, not their own fault as all the similar vehicles been recalled due to a safety problem. I had a rental reservation for an F-150 truck last Friday and when I arrived at my scheduled pick-up time I was informed that the truck had been "deleted" and there was not a vehicle for me. Apparently, Enterprise had sold the truck I reserved earlier that day. I was told that I could pay an additional $20/day for a larger vehicle, or the same price for a smaller vehicle, or I could go to a location about 30 miles away for the same truck I had rented. Owen, the manager, while not overtly rude, was exceedingly unhelpful and non-plussed. I was told that because I had made the reservation the previous night that it was incumbent upon them to fill the longer standing reservations first, but it seems to me that they should have not accepted a reservation if there was a chance they couldn't meet their obligation, regardless of the timeline. I called corporate and got a bunch of voicemail box options, and then called customer service. This was over a week ago and I've STILL not heard back from anyone. I ended up renting a car from Turo and moved on with my life, but not before cancelling my 3 future Enterprise reservations. Would not recommend- pretty awful experience. read more

Called this place yesterday around 3pm because I needed a rental for close to a week, was asking the woman some questions, and throughout the conversation she was rudely cutting me off and trying to talk over me. Towards the end of the conversation I asked if there was a way I could return the vehicle on a Sunday, since I don't need it Monday/would rather not be charged for an extra day I don't need it... she said no, I said that's fine, I understand this must be company policy, but is there anyone else we can talk to, to see about any other possible solutions... she continued to cut me off with a rude tone, so I hung up the phone and went through another company further away from home than this one... I never write bad reviews about anyone, check my other reviews.... But if you are rude to me for no reason you dont deserve my business and you probably shouldn't be working in sales or customer service ever read more

I rented a car here for four days on a one way. When I called to confirm the day off and tell them i was running 20 minutes behind from the airport they had told me they canceled my reservation the day before. I asked why did you do that no one contacted me or sent me a receipt of cancellation. Then they told me that they spoke to somebody yesterday saying that they didn't rent a car, and they didn't need one... no wonder because they contacted the wrong person. When I finally showed up in took 3 hours before I finally settled with a smaller car than what I originally rented. I was furious on a one way from Michigan to Florida and couldn't even fit all my stuff in the small little trunk that I had to end up with. If I didn't settle with a smaller vehicle they had no urgency to fix their screw up. Worst rental experience I've ever dealt with. If you're looking to rent go to a different location don't waste your time with this one. read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Stained seats and cigarette hole. - Car Rental Near Me - Far, Michigan

Do not employ liars. Tried to rent a car and was promised a call back. Never called back.

I rented a van during the Christmas holiday break to take my family up north. Service at pick-up was great, the vehicle was clean, and the price was very reasonable. I returned the car just 30 minutes before they closed, the day before New Year's Eve. The parking lot was packed, and so was the inside counter. When I was waiting in line to return my keys, the agents behind the counter graciously offered to have anyone that was returning a vehicle just hand over the keys and be free to go - no need to wait in the long line. Great! I hopped in a family member's car and we navigated through a sea of parked cars to exit and leave. Two months later, I received a letter claiming that I had caused $1100 worth of damage. Well, $700 of damage to the bumper, then $300 for "lost rental income while being repaired" and $100 administrative fee. But I didn't cause any damage. At first I doubted myself, wondering if I could have missed it. But the pictures in the claim show extensive black marks on the rear bumper of a white minivan, which I'm confident I would have noticed either during the 4 hour road trip home we took that morning, or when I dropped off my family and unloaded the whole vehicle, or during the 2 mile drive from my house to enterprise. The car was never left alone, and I was the only driver. Also, my wife and mother that helped unload did not notice anything. No problem, just a misunderstanding. Someone must have bumped into the car in the Enterprise lot, and with the large crowd when I was there, maybe it took awhile for the Enterprise staff to get out to the car. I called Enterprise and explained - they were understanding and said they'd conduct an investigation (including looking at branch video footage), noting that I disputed the claim, and promised they would get back to me afterwards. A month later, I heard from them again through another letter. However the only "update" was that while they acknowledged my dispute they were continuing with the claim. After multiple calls and being rerouted over and over again - including being told that while authority lies with the area manager, this person is unreachable because they are constantly traveling - I was finally told in simple terms there was nothing to do except pay. Otherwise, Enterprise would send the claim to collections. And I would be banned from renting from Enterprise, National, and Alamo. Hoping that a return to the friendly folks at the Enterprise branch I rented from would inject some common sense into the situation, I showed up and explained my case. What they offered in sympathy, they lacked in authority. Eventually the only advice was to "consider small claims court" (sue us). So that's it, I'm at the end now and forced to pay. I'm not taking them to court. I was excited about having a friendly neighborhood rental since I just moved here and my family is outgrowing our car size. But I obviously won't be returning and hope you all consider this before renting at this location or Enterprise anywhere. read more

I had one of the best rental experiences at this location. Not only was the staff friendly, they were knowledgeable and informative answering any and all questions without hesitation. The entire staff was great. Cap was helping me and she made the experience great. She explained everything thoroughly and even though they were busy she remained patient professional and pleasant. My friend went to pick up her rental from this location and she noticed two tires were low on air. They had her drive ithe car next door to an auto shop which then said there were nails in the tires and had to have two new tires put on the car. She finally got the car 2 1/2 hours later and the car smelled so strongly of pot I had to give her a plug in air freshener. read more

Horrible, horrible service. If you run into issues with the car Jason the manager will become confrontational and will give you a hard time. Jason even went as far to say he knew where I worked. I am a girl and I took this as a threat. All I called for was to upgrade the car as it was uncomfortable and the turning radius was bad and because it smelled of smoke and vomit. The wheel scraped when I turned. He went as far to say I should have upgraded the car and it was my fault for picking a POS.The manager Jason was horrible. I would never rent from this company again. We rented a black jeep liberty from them for over 2 months !!!!!!! 269.00 almost 300.00 a week!!! We had to go back every week to pay wich by the way the payments varied every week??? They claimed that we scratched the roof!? And we didnt. 1st of all how am I saposed to see the top of a jeep and how do they or I know it wasn't there before that. I was so excited that we were able to rent a car when I was having our van in the shop. Until this mess happened. 500.00 they charged for scratches that could of been there before hand! On top of over 2,200 dollars worth of fees just to RENT IT! not fair. Not right and not a way to treat a customer who spent thousands just to barrow a car!!!!! The sales guy Vince went to my husband's work because he was a day late turning it in due to being a holiday weekend. Hmm... you have our gosh darn credit card and we have paid consecutively for the past 6 weeks what do you think I want to keep your vehicle?!? SO VINCE THE (ENTERPRISE POLICE) stalked accused and lied to us. I will never EVER EVER RECOMMEND ANYONE RENTING FROM HERE NOT MY WORST ENEMY! I find out this week my neighbors rented a car from them for a week.....this (VINCE) same guy who screwed us pulled the same scam and accused them of scratches....seems odd. Almost shady. Professional and friendly staff and there's adequate staff available. Both the pick up and return experiences were incredibly efficient. Car was freshly cleaned inside and out. We always have a good experience with the Enterprise location (as did our daughter who came to stay with us from NYC for three weeks and also rented from them). read more

Extremely disappointed after using enterprise for 20 years .... first I was given a dirty car with almost 80k miles on it. Not vacuumed smelled like smoke ..... after 4 days another vehicle was available. I used them for an insurance claim loaner arranged through insurance and I was harassed regularly about fees, returning the vehicle ...... zero communication with my agent and adjuster. The vehicle was reported stolen and I was served via fed ex. I have been harassed daily for weeks. Mind you insurance set up the appt and I gave them my cc when I checked the vehicle out. Corporate policy is used for problem clients not long term extended check out circumstances. I would not recommend enterprise. Local branch blames corporate .....not professional at all. I dealt with the runaround for weeks. Nick is the manager at this location and he was nice but I would never use enterprise again. They are not in touch with ins company and adjusters. Not willing to work with the insurance company that sends them work. If possible I would give them a zero. read more

I have been renting from Enterprise exclusively since I have been able to rent vehicles and not once have I showed up at the designated pick up time and not have to wait to be taken care of. That being said I reserved a vehicle at the 9mile location for the default time of 12:00pm. I get there at 12:10 and there's a line outside. A man comes out to talk to the first person in line at 12:15(he might have already spoken to her, I don't know) Then yelled into the line "We are closed". Of course I'm upset so I wait for him to come out again. A couple minutes later he does and I say but my pick up is for 12. He said "there's nothing I can do for you and points at the paper on the window that says their hours have temporarily changed due to Covid 19. Okay, understandable but why was it not stressed when I made the reservation that if I am 1 minute late that I will not be able to pick up my vehicle which is what I was told when I spoke to him again at 12:20 when I said to him I'm only a couple minutes late and he pointed out that it was now 12:20. I said "yeah but I got here at 12:10" to which he responded "if you reserved a car for a 12:00 pick up, need to be here by 11:00" then shut and locked the door. Walking to my car , obviously pissed off, I see another man come out of the garage. I said "Is really how you treat you customers? Tell them they're a minute late so they can't be serviced?" His response was "if you show up 20 minutes late to a restaurant that you had reservations for they are going to laugh at you. You need to use some common sense." First of all a restaurant is not going to allow you to set a reservation for the time that they close how was a 12:00 pick up even an option if you close at 12:00? I said "my reservation was for 12 I was a couple minutes late it takes a minute to get here." He said "you should have left early. If you would have got here at 11:59 We could have helped you." I told him the other guy said I had to be there by 11 to get served" To which he responded "yeah he said the wrong thing, that guys not bright he gets paid a lot to get yelled at. I can't help you I have a birthday party to get to." They wanted me to be in time to the minute but any other time I am they have me waiting. And I expect this and am always patient with them. This is the worst customer service I have experienced with Enterprise and if I go back to enterprise it will not be the 9 mile location. I will definitely tell all the people back at the office to avoid them at all costs as well. read more

The Grosse Pointe Enterprise franchise has no competition in the area, so the staff and management make absolutely NO effort to be helpful or offer a good service. Enterprise and their people have done it again! After asking for a smoke free car they delivered a car that was not only stinky but also had a cigarette burn in the front seat. This is the third time that this has happened. When I mentioned that the car was smelly, I was told that this is what they had and maybe they would get something else in later. Maybe not! When I brought the car back, the manager stated that he was sorry, but since they rented a lot of cars to Detroiters, and you know how those people smoke, there was nothing that they could do about the discomfort that I experienced for three days. Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Grosse Pointe is great. The team has excellent customer service and they work with you to get you in a vehicle that meets your needs. They make extending a rental if need be very easy and after several extensions on my rental, I only had to go into the office twice.
