    DO NOT RENT FROM ENTERPRISE FOR ANY SPECIAL OCCASIONS!…read more I made my reservation with Enterprise Exotic Car Collection in Troy on 3/7/26 for my little brother's prom on 5/27/26. I reserved the vehicle class "Mercedes GLE, BMW X5, or similar." To make sure everything was set, I even called on Saturday 5/23/26 to confirm the Mercedes GLE was still available and in stock. When I arrived at 12 PM to pick up the vehicle, the location was completely chaotic. There were customers everywhere and an extremely long wait. After finally being assisted, I was told the Mercedes GLE was no longer available because vehicles are given out on a "first come, first served" basis. At that point, I questioned what the purpose of making a reservation months in advance was, especially after calling ahead to confirm availability. The only similar vehicle my little brother liked was a BMW, so we agreed to take that instead. After waiting another 15-20 minutes, the representative came back and told us someone had lost the keys to the BMW, so that vehicle was unavailable as well. We were then told there was a BMW available at the Southfield location. We drove from Troy to Southfield only to arrive and be told they did NOT have a BMW available and had no idea why we were sent there. At no point did anyone from the Troy or Southfield locations offer a manager, meaningful assistance, accountability, or any solution for the inconvenience and poor handling of the situation. I even called the Eastpointe location myself to explain everything. Although they stated they would escalate the issue to a manager, I never received a follow-up phone call. Enterprise completely ruined my little brother's prom day experience. Because of all the waiting, confusion, and driving between locations, the entire day ran behind schedule. I used to rent from Enterprise frequently, but after this experience, I will never rent from Enterprise again.

I made the reservation almost a week ahead of time and the reservation was for a full size car. I went to pick up my car after work at 5:30 and the car they give me is horrendous. The guy tries to pass off a Nissan Sentra as a full size car when I'm expecting a Malibu or similar. Ok whatever, I must have a car because mine is a lease and I can't put these road trip miles on mine. So we take the car, and it is awful!! Smells terrible like a mix of cigarettes and cleaner, the left blinker doesn't work, and the brakes squeak every time they're used. Now I just dont even feel safe taking this car on a 450 mile trip. (By the way, I asked someone who I know that used to work at Hertz who tells me that this Sentra is a mid-size car, NOT full size. So now we've been lied to in addition to not getting what was reserved.) The guy tells us to call in the morning before we leave and he should have some better returns that he can swap for us. At this point it's 6pm and all other local rental companies are closed for the day. So we do what he says. Next morning, NOPE, no new cars. So now we are completely screwed, mad, and late. Instead of leaving at 9am as planned, we have him void the rental and we rushed over to Enterprise. Do yourselves a favor and go to Enterprise. It's literally 5 minutes from this Hertz and a 100% better experience. We were helped quickly, got a brand new Charger, and paid $100 less. I will never go through Hertz again.

I then wait 5-10 minites for her to get back with her co-worker. Neither greet me and each go into their own offices. Then the woman pointed and said, "He can help you." So I walk into the man's office who doesn't even acknowledge me. I told him that she had sent me in there and he responded that the woman will need to help me. So I go back to her and she sighs. Then they argue through the wall over who has to help me. Finally, she agrees to help me. I ask if it will be much longer and she shrugged and walked out of the room for several minutes. When she returned, she was yelling through the wall again talking about my car because they didn't have a fullsize, which I reserved. I finally got so fed up that I walked out.

He was alone on and it was busy, but nonetheless was cheerful and helpful. However he gave me a car with no wiper fluid and on a 600+ mile drive, the windshield looked like a murder scene (insects splattered all over), and I needed that fluid! That's got to be car rental 101: fill all fluids. Then the $12.99 EZpass option I paid for didn't work on the Ohio Turnpike. And the car had a USB charger only. I have a new iPhone so I had to run last minute to the Apple Store to buy an adaptor. Why have outmoded cars? This one had over 40k miles on it. When I returned the car there was another man (no, he was a too cool for school dude) working at the counter with zero interest in giving me any concessions on price for the substandard experience. I delineated all the issues and he said, "You've got to call customer service." I said, "when I rent at Enterprise and something is wrong, they offer a price alteration" to which he said, "then go to Enterprise." WOW! Great customer service. I was determined to report him and asked his name, which was supposedly Tyler (which I still don't believe) because at first he refused to give me his name, instead saying: "it's whatever you want it to be." I now am dealing with corporate and am unsure how I will fare, but there I had bad luck too. My customer service rep wouldn't give me a measly day's rental refund for around $125 (on a $990 rental). I thought a free day was a reasonable request, but she started yelling over me, refusing to connect me with a supervisor. It was so awful that I actually had to hang up on this raging woman in some foreign country and start over. The takeaway: Budget is an utter nightmare. THIS Budget is poorly run, understaffed, the cars are very old and not well-maintained or cleaned. The staff is uneven from sweet to surly. DO NOT GO THERE, or do so at your own risk. And if you see Tyler, run away!!!
