This entire company is a scam. I rented an unlimited mile car and they confirmed it was when I picked it up. When I went to return it yesterday they said I went over the mileage and said they were keeping the $400 deposit plus a little more. Bought a 2023 challenger online, was one of the easiest deals I made, all authorized online. Enjoyed that purchase. Where I live the challenger just wasn't doing that great with the bumps and uneven roads, tried to trade in, had an approval for 2700 down online with capital one, but was told over text by Brandon I'd need a minimal of $13100 down due to trade. Even after "pre approving" my out of state license I was denied a rental because I had a debit card and not credit card. If I was warned about this restriction it was hidden in some fine print. I wasted my afternoon ubering to this place and didn't get the car I needed. Useless, uninformative, and unhelpful. read more

As a rule follower, I can respect company's policies, even if I don't agree with them, but what I will not respect is awful customer service. Extremely unimpressed with the lack of help the woman I dealt with at the Glen Carbon location gave, along with being down right rude. We have clients in this week, and two tried to rent a car with a debit card, on seperate occasions, and were not allowed. Rules are rules, I understand, but when I went in to assist our most recent client, I was met with no help and rudeness. My car was being repaired due to hail damage. I had went through the proper channels with my insurance and even called Enterprise personally to reserve the class of vehicle I wanted. I get there, have to wait 40 minutes and the rep doesn't bother to tell me they are putting me in a compact instead of the intermediate SUV I reserved. I'm told there isn't one available. I reserved it, why isn't there one available?! The Fiat they gave me was filthy and nearly on empty. "Oh just bring it back on empty." What? I had to put gas in it before I could get home. It drives like a tractor which is why I requested an intermediate size. This vehicle was literally returned while I was waiting and then handed over to me. I think they took five minutes to vacuum it. I'm supposed to get this corrected tonight. We'll see how it goes. They really act like they give zero cares about customer satisfaction. Ok update. Maggie called me and they are delivering a new car to me today. She went above and beyond and made sure all my issues were addressed. While I still feel the Glen Carbon location has severe issues, the corporate office takes customer service seriously. read more

This Enterprise rental agency is back on my "nice" list, and here's the contrast: *This visit, a vehicle in the class/size I'd reserved was available. No Seinfeldian jokes this time about knowing how to take a reservation, but not knowing how to HOLD a reservation. In the past, I've arrived to find no vehicle available in the class I've rented, and been given the option to wait for a return or choose something smaller. I imagine that it must be difficult to keep the size of a fleet profitable, and deal with the flukes of breakdowns, people not returning vehicles on time, etc. Still, from the customer's perspective, if I reserve and arrive at 8, I don't want to wait 'til 9:30 to get my car. If I reserve a large SUV, I don't want a standard-sized car or a minivan. Might it be that the phone call I received 3 days in advance confirming my reservation is a new way to manage inventory? Perhaps I was just lucky. *The vehicle was clean and comfortable, with lots of options to play with, including the "miles remaining" feature, which allowed me to strategize and successfully return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel that I started with. The mirrors that fold in to the vehicle with a touch of a button were very cool. I felt like I was driving the Batmobile, even though it was a monster SUV. *No long talk about insurance coverage, though I wanted and accepted the CDW. *When I returned, the rates and amount in the computer matched the ones on my contract. Twice in the past, I've had to point out that I was overcharged. *Michelle, one of the managers, was especially helpful, and didn't charge me for the small amount of miles over my 150/day allotment. One thing that still bugs me about Enterprise is the way that rental agents are expected to take phone calls while waiting on customers. They seem exceedingly patient with questions about reservations, rates, and payment information for the hard-of-hearing or desperate-to-rent. But I still don't like to be standing there speaking live, then lose a face-off to a ringing phone. Aside from a little craziness at the counter, I had a good experience this time. This could be the worst customer service I have ever received. The Size/class of car we reserved was not available. The customer service rep offered us no additional help other than to say there was nothing they could do. I then called headquarters and got much of the same. I will never rent from them again. I am VERY disappointed in Enterprise. I picked up a car in Salina Kansas ( which wasn't the one I requested, but was flexible and took one from another category with no complaints) on Saturday, drove it home and delivered it back on Sunday .. The office was closed on Sunday , so I placed the keys in the drop box and left... Monday I found out I was charged for 2 days rather than one day as I was quoted a one day price when I made the reservation.. I called customer service to correct the billing .. they would not correct it stating that I returned the car at 2pm Rather than noon , so I owed for another days rental ... Not my fault the office was closed on Sunday and not my fault that it wasn't explained to me turning in a car 120 minutes late ( only because I was honest and told them the return time) would result in another entire day of rental charges ... All I asked for was to be billed correctly.... read more

Frustrating and disappointing experience. Slow service, had to return vehicle because of brake issues. Replacement van had a number of service issues. Manager compensated on the rate, which showed an effort to provide good service. I appreciate the effort, but I'm not sure it eradicated the poor experience. read more

I am an Enterprise Plus Platinum member, I rent from Enterprise all over the country. Occasionally I rent from this location as it is near my home. The Glen Carbon location has the rudest, most unfriendly, unorganized staff of any location I have ever rented from. They have forgotten to pick me up, they have not had cars available, they stand on the other side of the counter to check you out but never look at you or acknowledge your presence. It's unreal. If it weren't my home base, I would never use this location again. read more

Make sure they have your reservation correct and keep checking back with them. I made a reservation for a 15 passenger van more then 2 weeks in advance, and had talk to someone at Enterprise 4 times during that time and when we (5 families) got there to pick it up to start our vacation they had it all wrong. We had to cancel our vacation all 5 families! After talking to the manager a few days later he is going to help us the next time we can arrange to make the trip. He was very understanding. read more

I have rented a van to haul some visiting friends and family around, and the van wasn't cleaned at all - smells literally like livestock, or horse poop. I was also told btw Abra that the deposit was 50, but it was 200. Not a big deal, just not was was told to me. I will NEVER use enterprise again. read more

I dropped my car off at body shop enterprise was the place the insurance company call to rent a car they met my husband at the body shop with a dirty car stain in the seats front and back. The ceiling of the car was also stained. My husband mention the stains to the person dropping the car of he just laughed and ignored him. I called to speak with the manager which was Brady he said bring it back and we'll get you another car I want you to be satisfied. He had one ready and waiting for me painless. I was really disappointed and ready to give them back the car and go somewhere else and also let the insurance company know about the bad service but Brady made it all better. I reserved a premium car online. I was given a Lincoln MRZ. The staff was easy to work with and there was no pushy add-on insurance (I did get the damage waiver so maybe that's why). The car looked like a kid just ran it through a lousy hose washing. There was a whitish film all over the side mirrors and glass. The car had a "used" smell inside. The car was very comfortable and was the size car I was expecting. It was a positive experience overall and I would definitely use them again. read more

Only went here for convenience but will find somewhere else next time. I arrived 15 minutes before pick up, only to be told to come back the car wasn't ready. Once I returned, it took another HOUR to be waited on and for the car to be ready. The guy who originally waited on me (younger, bearded) acted as though he couldn't care less. At least the guy who ultimately took care of me (young, no beard) was apologetic and trying his best. For a company that preaches customer service, Enterprise has certainly not lived up to their reputation. Will not return. read more

I would also advise you to have a copy enterprises rental policies with you before arriving to the counter. They will flat out lie in order to get you to purchase extra coverage which is NOT REQUIRED in order to rent from them (GLEN CARBON LOCATION). I was told that even though I have coverage provided with my credit card I am REQUIRED TO PURCHASE THEIR CDW which is simply false. My credit card company along with their corporate headquarters did confirm that this is not true. On top of that my final bill was inflated to include charges for additional coverage that I did decline. If you must rent from enterprise I would strongly encourage you to use the O' Fallon IL location and bypass this one. The incompetence of certain employees at this location is ridiculous. read more

I was out to eat last night with my wife and was sitting next to a group of some enterprise employees. They were talking very loudly and degrading women throughout their entire meal. Among other things, I heard them talking about "that bitch with fake tits" that came into enterprise. They continued to talk about what kind of implants she had and said she was asking a lot of "stupid" questions. Conversations like this should never happen, but they especially should not happen in an environment like a restaurant, especially when you are seated around women and children. I would definitely never recommend this place. I hope management talks to its employees and helps them realize that they need to represent the company in a better way. Women do not deserve to be treated the way this company seems to treat them. read more

Horrible, unprofessional (won't name, but should) and inconsiderate of customers's time and money. Two cars later, I'm still waiting on a request for a mid size, decent car while my brand new car is getting repaired (hit by a Penske Truck). That's another story. The cars are dirty, overly perfumed to mask whatever scent... Customer service , with the exception of one young man, is ridiculous. I don't know how/why they are hired??? Great pricing and new, clean van. The only thing I saw that they could do better at is when someone has scheduled their car/van at 9am, they should have it ready at 9:00. We didn't even get waited on until an hour after we scheduled the pick up. Then when we got it, it only had 1/4 of gas in it. I was shocked that we would now have to take more time out of our trip to fill the tank up. We said that was unacceptable. They went and filled it, but it took them 5x's as long as it should have with a gas station being right up the road. By the time we could finally leave we were 1.5 hours later leaving on our trip then we had scheduled. One other thing to note: if people have to schedule the cargo vans several weeks in advance because they are so popular - as we were told - then you would assume a good business move would be to get a couple more for the demand. Just my thoughts. Overall - the money saved made it worth while and the people we very pleasant after we made it to the front of the line. read more

We recently had car trouble, needed to rent a vehicle for a couple days, yet realized we would need to buy a vehicle in the near future. So we rented an SUV from Enterprise for the week, and then every couple of days would call, find out what comparable models were available, and then come in to swap out vehicles. It was the same cost to have three different vehicles for the week as it would've been to have kept one vehicle the entire week. The staff was friendly, despite it being extra work for them to to check in and check out the various cars. Would definitely recommend Enterprise to anyone needing a vehicle, and it was great they could pick me up and take me to their office when we first rented. read more
