Let's start by saying NO OVERNIGHT PARKING. However, after speaking with the manager certain exceptions can be made in the event of an emergency. I reserved a particular vehicle, but upon arrival I was told that it was not available. They offered the next option down. While disappointed and frustrated, I attempted to make the best of it. When I returned the vehicle the manager (who was not available at pick up) made sure that any quarrels were resolved. I was rear ended while sitting at a red light. The responsible party's insurance put me in a rental car while my car was repaired. I chose this Enterprise location because it's only about a minute from the repair shop that was working on my car. The transaction to get the car was very easy. The at fault's insurance paid for everything. I did have to provide a card for a $50 deposit that would be returned to me. The car, a Ford Escape, was clean and drove well. I dropped the car off three days later, which was easy as well. I have no complaints about the service I received. read more

I normally use the Hoover location (amazing staff and service over there, never any issue whatsoever) but used Pelham in a pinch on my way out of town. Ryan the manager was nice enough the first day, he even accepted my debit card as a form of payment even though I did not bring any of the required documents that Enterprise requires (pay stub, etc.). In fact, he did not even ask for those documents. When I brought the car back the next morning, the female associate who assisted me barely spoke one word to me. She spotted an issue with the bumper as she was surveying the vehicle. She placed her foot on it and begin trying to kick it into place. Then without telling me what was going on, made me stand outside waiting on the manager Ryan to speak to me. After about ten minutes, Ryan said the bumper was misaligned (the cheap, plastic bumper on this KIA) and that they would have to take it to their body shop. During the inital walk through, I wish i'd paid more attention as I did not notice this issue with the bumper initially-Ryan mentioned he was only looking for golfball sized dings and dents and in my haste, I did not notice the state of the bumper. I asked Ryan for the card of a corporate supervisor - he handed me his own card. Both Ryan and his associate were extremely rude and treated me as if i'd damaged this vehicle, which I did not. I rent OFTEN, and i've never had one single issue. I utilize a rental car multiple times a year, both for personal use and for work (I travel monthly) using our corporate account, and since I am the decision maker when making travel arrangements at work, this has made me rethink our choice of vendor for rental cars. 0/10 for this encounter, i do not recommend. I reserved an SUV through this location. The SUV smelled horribly from smoke. It took two days to switch the car to a minivan at the Alabaster location. I returned the minivan in a different city. This was the most well run car rental facility I have ever been to. The employees personally greeted every customer that came into the store with a smile and this was right at 8 AM so most of us were barely awake. A man in front of me in line was being very rude and was even cussing towards one of the salesman. The salesman continued to provide outstanding customer service and remained professional in spite of the rude behavior. We arrive at 8 and was told it could be an hour wait. 2 hours later they brought out a compact car, which doesn't work for a big guy with multi knee surgeries. I travel quite a bit for business the Pelham location is near my home and is perfect for me. The customer service is great they're very personable. No matter how busy it is they always greet with a smile. I will continue to rent from this location ! I wish the hours of operation were more. I have to pick up on a Saturday by 11:00am for a trip on Monday. I leave to early to get a car on Monday morning. They have allowed me to exchange vehicles in several occasions. I rented a car at this location earlier this month, and it was one of the worst rental experiences I've ever had. It began with the employee refusing to accept my debit card until she realized that my insurance company made the reservation and would be paying 80% of the rental. When she saw her mistake, she admitted that she hadn't reviewed the terms of my reservation. The car that I was initially given felt unsafe (really loose steering and suspension), so I brought it back in exchange for another car. Because they had low inventory, I didn't have much to pick from. The car I was given was filthy. It hadn't been washed and the interior was dirty. Oh, and it wreaked of urine. I thought Enterprise had adopted a rigorous cleaning protocol because of COVID. I guess not for this particular car. As disgusting as the car was, I had no other option, so I accepted it and drove straight home to sanitize and disinfect it myself. Then I noticed that the air pressure was low in the front driver side tire. I stopped at a gas station to fill the tire the night before I was to make a 600 mile trip. The next day, the tire pressure was low again. I filled the tire before my trip. Thankfully I arrived and returned safely, because the next day, I took it to Firestone and learned that the slow leak was actually a hole. They also found that the other front tire had a huge gash and had to be replaced as well. Unbelievable! Not only was I given a car that was filthy, it was highly unsafe. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had with Enterprise. What was offered to me by the branch manager, Corey was hardly acceptable. He said that because my insurance company covered the majority of the rental, there wasn't much he could or would do for my troubles. Needless to say I won't be renting from there again. To future customers, I'd recommend thoroughly checking your car YOURSELF before accepting it. read more

Terrible. The employees to the manager were so unprofessional. This is the location I chose and what a bad choice. The first car was having mechanical issues. I had to exchange it and they were forcing me into a Hyundai accent( reminded me of a go cart)! I contacted customer service and they allowed me to swap the car out at bham airport ! Few days go by, i had to pick up another car and was given a dirty Nissan Altima. I mean filthy. I was told by "MeME" "it's a rental car , what do you expect" Maybe she drives dirty cars, but I expect more! Entire staff there is unprofessional. Enterprise needs to clean house! I had a car repaired at Anthony's and State Farm worked seemlessly with the car rental at this enterprise. I went over and talked with Tyler. He was immediately available to help, and he found exactly what I wanted at a good price. Reserved it. Also, was good on the phone. On the day of the reservation, I was several hours early and the car was available. The pickup from Anthony's was fine. The car worked fine. I returned the car early (rented about a week instead of 10 days as planned), and I was charged just of the time I used it. The drop off worked perfectly. The only issues were (1) that the car had a jerky transmission, supposedly an intentional feature of the Ford focus model (he forewarned me and asked if it's okay and I said yes), and (2) the car had only a 1/4 tank of gas. It's hard to get it just right and have a 1/4 tank. I left it with more than 1/2 a tank, and thus "donated" some gas to the company unnecessarily. I had a thoroughly positive experience with this branch and would use them again. read more

Have rented from Enterprise for 25 years now and never had this happen until my previous rental. Never thought to have my confirmation with me because Enterprise has always had it in the system. The charges got switched by one hundred and thirty bucks. I question the branch manager about it and had no answer. So I have filed a complaint with Corporate. I had a great experience at this Enterprise. When I made my reservation with the toll free number, they assured me that I would be picked up at 1:30 pm. By 2:45, no-one had showed up so I called the local number - they had not been informed of the pick up. I don't sweat the small stuff, and did;t get upset. Alayna, one of the staff was there immediately to pick me up and was profuse in her apologies, which was not necessary. We had a wonderful chat and they upgraded me to a Jeep for my inconvenience. Again, I was fine - not upset - things happen. But, Alayna was a joy to talk to and the entire staff made me feel welcome. My experience at this Pelham location was superb. I call frantically in search of a larger vehicle to accommodate my family as we needed to travel out of town due to a death in the family. Alayna was beyond helpful and showed such concern that she took care of me. She had a thorough knowledge of the vehicles and what exactly i would need. On the day of pickup, Alayna was unavailable to complete my transactions but the other young lady was just as helpful. Before I was out the door Alayna did peek over and greet me which i thought spoke volumes. When I returned the vehicle, they were super busy, and the two guys that were assisting customers were getting the lines handled very well. They were personable and created a great environment. I've used Enterprise for many years, both personally and corporately, and have always had good experiences. Unfortunately, my latest experience at this Pelham location verifies why you should take their offer when they say that "we'll pick you up". I rented a car from this location, and parked my car where I was instructed by the staff member. I came back a day and a half later to find my car vandalized. My back window was shattered and the side of my car was hit with a blunt object. There are no cameras in the parking lot, and this location has a sign that they aren't responsible for vehicles parked there. All I received was an "I'm sorry". If you choose to use this location, my advice would be to let them pick you up, or shop elsewhere. read more

Horrible customer Service. We booked online for a certain price. Went an picked up the car but my fiancé only had a debit card and we were told we could only use a credit card (unless we had proof of address which we don't normally carry things like that in the car). We used my credit card because we had to be on the road at a certain time and when we returned the car, they charged us an extra $200 bucks for using my card instead of the card the person was rented under because I am under the age of 25. No one ever mentioned to us that it was going to result in an uncharge at all, let alone that much of an up charge even though I never drove the stupid card (my fiancé has rental car insurance and I don't). The staff was rude and entirely not willing to discuss the issue and basically said, "Well you fell for it, suckers. Get over it". We were contacted by someone in the company a month later, he asked us about what happened and we explained to him the situation. He said he would investigate and we haven't heard back since. After the way we were treated, as customers who used to use enterprise's services every 6 months AT LEAST, we will drive all the way to 280 to rent from AVIS instead. I recommend you do the same, because they will try to squeeze every penny out of you in uncharges despite the total you were given online. read more
