The beds are well two…read moretwin beds with separate blankets for each bed - so yay for no one can complain that you are a blanket thief. If you are English speaking - the language barrier is going to be challenging, but it isn't impossible as the staff does understand English. I would say that the Day staff is definitely better than the evening shift - but I must give them plenty of props for trying and being extremely pleasant and welcoming at the same time. It is very worthwhile to get half-board, when booking this place during the "shoulder" season like we did because next to nothing is open in the village - because you are immediately here during after golf closes and there isn't enough snow on the slopes for skiing - so everyone in the village pretty much takes a vacation. Few annoyances - the schedule & most of the documentation in the room is mostly in German, and there doesn't seem to be much offered in English for those of us, who are linguistically challenged (aka me and the boy) so we had trouble trying to figure out what we could to use in the room and at the resort without extra charges. The schedule they have listed when you check in in german, but since they have free wifi in room and at the resort (ask at Front desk for the codes 1 ticket per device) you should be able to use google translate to cover off the shortfalls. They have parking underground for a fee - when we went it was €9 a night. The drive here was beautiful - even if it is a bit remote. But the view you can not get any better unless you are at another similar resort; since you are at the edge of the Achensee, with your back to the Austrian Alps - absolutely unbelievable view. Standouts were definitely the spa and activity staff - Adrian, Theresa and Sarah really made our stay quite enjoyable. We booked a 1/2 hr couples side by side massage with them, which included a private room with a nice pedestal tub for two, and a sauna and shower, with chocolates, lounge bed and sparkling wine. The price wasn't too bad, and it was super mellow. Than after you finish your massage, you can chill out by the fire, while they bring you tea. The restaurant, breakfast is quite good and they offer quite a selection. However dinner if you didn't get the half-board, it is a bit of a miss - I mean I see what they are trying to do, but somehow the food just falls a bit short of the pretty presentation. I would almost prefer to see something a bit more homey and down to earth, rather than foam topped something. The restaurant servers are mostly nice, with the exception of one guy, who was rude, if not slightly arrogant, to me and the boy on our first night in the restaurant. The view of the restaurant faces the lake, and it's really relaxing in the morning to be staring at the mountains and lake, while sipping a morning cup of caffeine infused drinks. I would say try and get one of the nice booths in the middle tier of the restaurant.

The spa and roof top pool are superb and the surrounding area is tres magnificent with the best hiking and bike riding in the world. The hotel is open since 2016 and has been built out of an old storage house (Kontor). The love and detail that went into the renovation is amazing. Homemade Marmelade, great bread, 10 different teas, wonderful coffees, etc.) The hotel is very close (2 minutes walk) to old town Hall and wonderful restaurants and shops.

The parking lot is small and probably has 6-7 spots. You will have to climb stairs to get to your room. *It is right next door to a church with a bell that goes off every 15 minutes! The last one is 10:45pm and it starts up at approx 7:30 am. In the town, there is one small store and the hotel restaurant that served wings, ribs, burgers, wraps, salads - I did not try it as it didn't look appealing. Plus one other restaurant is within walking distance. So you will either have to eat at one of those spots or drive. Not the views that we were hoping for. I would not return here due to location, lack of amenities.

1. Have rooms ready at check in time when guests with reservations arrive…read more 2. Turn your AC on a little more when it's hot outside. You get to advertise the rooms as having AC, but then you limit the thermostats to where guests are still uncomfortable. 3. You don't have a restaurant. Nothing about the space on the ground floor feels like a restaurant. It's a bar where someone can order bar food to go with their drinks and where you can serve your buffet breakfast. Don't turn away a paying guest because they bring leftover pizza back from their dinner and would like to order some drinks and other bar food from you, simply because you don't want outside food in your 'restaurant' which is really just a bar. This hotel and its staff does not represent the people of Innsbruck or Austria well.

From Google review, I was not expecting much., but came to our surprise this hotel is a hidden gem. Well, not actually hidden as its location was super great, just two minute walk yo the lake!! It's just "hidden" by the gigantic hotel surrounding it. This hotel with 20 rooms are neat and clean. Some of the rooms have balconies with part view to the lake, like our room. The size is decent for two people and facilities are as other basic European hotels. Breakfast are included and they serve fresh bread, eggs done per your choice and coffee. Choices of jams are plenty and oh my... they are delicious! And they set a table nicely dedicated for you every day, with little name tag! A one page news with weather forecast and activities surrounding the area for the day is prepared for you too! The only one small "complain" I have is that the bed sheet is white but pretty rough. But even with that, I will come back and stay here again if we are in Eben am Achensee!

Hiking trails, discounted gondola (cable car) rides are also within a 5-10 minute walk, a short drive will take you to a pasture farm, no car? No problem - bus service EVERYWHERE... overall 10/10.

Our room has the bed facing the huge picture window - and with the huge balcony (big enough to have a party on) having clear barriers the view's unobstructed and simply stunning, you'd never get tired of looking at it. Bed is firm, good shower (also has a view as it's glass encased and at one end of room - only the toilet has a door). The hotel is quite new - opened in 2017, stylish and modern, with bar and restaurant and shady courtyard. Breakfast is an optional add on, not cheap at $20 (maybe less if included at booking) but is a very good one with a huge variety of everything, a sumptuous continental with a hot egg/sausage dishes. This is also the only hotel on this trip where we used the spa repeatedly - the steam room and 2 saunas were fabulous, spacious and not crowded (No attendants). Location is excellent as well, on a pedestrian street packed with shops, restaurants, grocery stores, right on the edge of old town. It's one km distance from the train station so a bit of walk or can take the tram from there (#5 for 2 stops to Rathausgalerien - an indoor shopping plaza next to the hotel). They don't provide coffee or tea (I was told there is a vending machine somewhere in the building for that), but there is an electric kettle in the room.
