It is a small barbershop on Atwell's in a cool old Italian hood. Angelo cut my hair. Pro job. He is from South Florida and I believe Cuban so he knows the old ways of doing things. If you'd like a straight edge razor to edge beard and your neck you're in luck with Angelo. Very hard to find in Providence. But Angelo knows the South Florida ways which I've come to enjoy from living down there in the winters. Full haircut, beard trim, and edge for $45. Sweet deal. Well after reading some great reviews on here and Google, and desperately needing a new barber I decided to try Enzos today. Show up at 1015AM, business hours are open at 10am, door is locked, no one inside, and the open sign is lit up. Call the number on the sign twice, no one picked up. Zero signs of life. Waited 20m because I paid for parking, still nothing. I don't think it's much to ask that your open when you say you'll be open. read more

Worst haircut i have ever gotten, when I called I was not informed it was cash only. My haircut was a total of 15 minutes with no care at all. Then I take 40$ out of the ATM there as my hair cut was 40$. I wanted to give a 5$ tip and all he gave me back in charge was 10$, when it should've been 17. I said i wanted tip him 5$ and have the rest of the change and he said there was no chance left in the register. I ended up paying 35$ for a 23$ hair cut which was awful. I have never been more upset with a haircut and the service was terrible too. Very unprofessional. I came into Enzo's for a trim on the top because my regular hairdresser at a different salon was not available. I told the woman (Anna) that I wanted it very short on the sides (like a 1) and then a light trim on the top, not even an inch taken off. I told her my concerns for getting it cut were: 1. I see someone else, so I don't want much changed. Just a light trim. 2. I want it to look good without having to style it. She kept commenting about how terrible of a job my regular hairdresser did and how appalled she was and that she gets people in all the time and has to fix their hair. I kept telling her that I've been seeing my hairdresser for 1.5 years and I've always come out of it loving the results. So 1. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL OF ANNA. Anna was cutting my hair a very strange way with a comb and clippers to do the trim, so it didn't look like much hair was being taken off - plus she did not have me facing the mirror. Finally about 3/4 of the way through the cut (which took 1 hour) she swiveled my chair to face the mirror and my hair was shorter than it has been in 16 years. There was about 2.5 inches taken off... my hair is now less than an inch long. I am a very easy going person, so I decided to see if it would grow on me (no pun intended). After a week I was still very upset with how my hair came out, so I decided to go in to let her know. This is where it gets frustrating... I spoke with Enzo (the owner) today because Anna doesn't go in til later. I told him why I was upset. He kept saying oh just sit down, I'll fix it! No amount of miracle grow can fix the disaster that came across my hair. This does not make any sense. He gave me my money back, but I told him that I really wanted to speak with Anna because she needed to understand why I was so upset. He said she would be back later. I received a call from Anna and on the voicemail she said that I had come in and caused a scene and got all of the customers riled up. 1. There was only one customer and I had suggested talking to Enzo when he was done cutting his hair. 2. I did not raise my voice or express any level of belligerence while bringing up my concerns. This got me very upset, so I came back to the store so I could speak with her in person. When I got to the store she told me to step outside. She asked me what I was upset with. I began to tell her and with everything I said she cut me off and was calling me a scammer. She yelled at me. She cursed at me. And she continuously said that she fixed my hair and it has never looked so good. Oh she also called me a liar when I showed her pictures of my hair 3 weeks prior- she said that my hair looked nothing like that and it wasn't that long. Um, Timestamp?? To sum it up: 1. My haircut was not what I wanted and the hard part was uneven and thick. 2. Anna was very unprofessional and kept criticizing my hairdressr's work. 3. Enzo thought he could fix my hair by doing a blowdry and combing it. 4. Enzo told Anna that I had caused a scene and riled up customers when I was just expressing why I was upset in a collected manner. 5. Anna swore and yelled at me and called me names when I told her why I was upset. I do not recommend going to this place unless you are looking to get your haircut the way they want to cut it and sit in an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment for an hour for a men's hair cut. Anna, I know you did not intentionally "destroy" my hair, but you did not listen to my request and you were very stubborn and unprofessional. It's not hard to be a good person or empathetic. Mess ups happen. I would still be upset with how my hair was cut, but i would not be irrate as I am now due to how it was handled. read more

I used Yelp to find this place and I am glad I did. I didn't say one word to the barber and for the first time in my life let someone do what he felt was needed. He said he was the professional to the guy before me and to let him do his thing. So I said nothing once I got into the chair. He proceeded to give me the best haircut ever. I tried to find a black dress shirt after I left as I felt I was now underdressed for my new haircut. I felt like a new man and had a big smile. My wife was with me and she loved it. Absolutely horrible, one of the worst haircuts I have ever gotten! DO NOT listen to the review these people are putting on here! I came in after I made an appointment over the phone. Was told I had didn't have an appointment even though I gave my name and came in at the right time. So I got this fucking dude with some fake Versace sunglasses, half asleep, who I would never think was even a barber because he didn't even see me walk in! Reluctantly I sat down in his chair, ask me what I wanted, told him, even showed him pictures. He says okay, then all hell breaks lose because not only is he a horrible barber, he can't even do a proper fade. The whole point of a fade is to FADE the levels of hair. I had more of stairs on my damn head! To make things worse he just kept going higher and higher to catch up to his mistakes which if I didn't stop him and point out he would've let me walk out like that. After multiple errors, like not being able to do a proper line up, not using scissors nor a brush on the higher side of the fade. The owner comes over and tells me to sit down in his chair. I said to myself, thank god, and I do. He did manage to fade some of the side in pretty well although he had to go higher to fix the errors. But he kept saying all this stuff about how he's gonna take care of me and he's the best and he's the owner and he's been doing this for a long time and he's machines are better and they cut a lot better than the other barber's so his will be better. Yada yada yada. Long story short this shit was so fucking bad I went straight to my normal barber the next day. For you guys that know what a REAL haircut looks like, DO NOT go here. This shop has many 5 star ratings so, being new to Providence, I thought I would give it a try. When I entered the shop, there was a female barber working on a client. She was meticulous as she worked on giving her client an amazing haircut. I had a 4:00 appointment and was invited into my chair by Enzo, who was just finishing up with a client. He barely cleared the previous client's hair off the chair and floor before I sat down. I asked for a haircut, beard trim/shave. Since this was my first cut with Enzo, I expected a bit of conversation about what I wanted and what he could do. The conversation was minimal as Enzo was more interested in his music than listening to the client sitting in his chair. As for the music, it was being played from his IPhone and not via an app like spotify or pandora. After each song, Enzo would stop the cut, go to his phone, select another song then come back to me. I received the worst haircut and beard trim/shave. The haircut was uneven, the lines on the beard were not clean and he never shaved my neck. When I complained and pointed out the uneven cut and asked him to correct it, he told me that it will grow out and proceeded to take the cape off, signaling that the haircut/beard trim was complete. Meanwhile, the guy next to me was still getting a meticulous and I must admit, amazing haircut by the female barber. My mistake was going to Enzo. Next time I will go to the female barber. read more

Joao, the barber you are talking about on Google Reviews goes by name AJ not BJ. I had the same experience with this creep. He had a strong odor of weed and cologne and seemed twitchy and nervous as he kept looking at his cell phone. I even asked him if he was alright. I know that he is relatively new to the shop. I'm retired from the US Navy and now own a small business around the corner from Enzo's, I can tell you, Enzo is a stand-up guy and good business owner. Take him up on his offer and go and see him personally. You won't be disappointed. Again, Cheyenne is seriously better than any other barber I've been to. This girl has perfected her craft, and as a woman in a male dominated industry as far as barbers, she is hands down the best. And I'm very particular about my barber. While I don't go to a barber shop often, as I don't have much hair now in my later years and usually cut my own, when I need to have it done right, she's the one. She truly loves her work and takes the time to make sure she is cutting the way the customer wants; and yet if you need a professional opinion how how to have your hair cut or styled, this is the woman you want! Great little barber shop, very clean and streamlined. It's a small spot, but they don't clutter it, and I was very comfortable. I heard great things about Cheyenne, and was able to get an appointment on the same day. She remembered cutting my partner's hair a few weeks ago, and remembered quite a bit about me. It was nothing but easy conversations, and not forced smalltalk. She cut my hair quickly, and did a great job at it. She even helped to even out my beard a bit. I have been coming to Enzo's for a while now, I actually moved from Rhode Island to West Hartford CT, and I drive 2 hours to get here to get my haircut. Enzo and all the people here are that good. Professional service, clean friendly atmosphere. I've seen the police officers get their hair cut here too. Good music, fresh cuts, clean fades. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Cheyenne was great! I don't usually like small-talk during my hair cut because it usually feels forced, but the conversation with Cheyenne was great and the cut was exactly what I wanted.
