My husband and I spent some time on Lakewood Ranch Main Street this afternoon. We had a great late lunch at MST and then walked around to visit the various shops. I noticed this new home decor store and was excited to go in. As we walked in, we noticed that the staff of three people seemed to be consumed with checking a person out who had just made what was apparently a large purchase. We walked through the store which is very pretty and well laid out. When we made our way around to where the staff had just completed the large transaction, a couple of them looked at us and immediately turned their back to focus on something else. A new patron walked in the store and was immediately greeted by all three of the staff. This absolutely rubbed me the wrong way and I put down the item I was going to purchase and walked out of the store. On my way out, I mentioned to one of the staff that they should greet everyone and not a select few. She apologized and said that she was the owner and said she didn't see us. She may not have seen us, but her staff did and chose to ignore us.
Make sure everyone that walks through the door experiences the same level of customer service. You never know what major sale you may miss out on by not paying attention. With a staff of three, one person should be focusing on new patrons that walk through the door. read more
