    Era Team jacket 2023
    Emily J.

Both my children have been at ERA for a couple years now. My son is in the boys Ninja class and my daughter is on Team. The facility is safe and clean. The coaches meet the kids where they are at, and help to develop the student's skills in a fun and practical way. We highly recommend ERA for children of all ages and abilities.

    Wednesday adult class!

As a coach, I can give a behind the scenes perspective and share the environment hear is extremely positive and uplifting of it's employees. This atmosphere directly translates to the coaches striving to provide the children the support and encouragement they need to be not only strong gymnastics but also confident individuals.

    Warmup time

On 5/09/24, I signed up my daughter for 3-4-year-old trial gymnastics class. My wife and I were excited about the possibility of our daughter studying and learning formal gymnastics skills and training. Our daughter had a basic understanding of the fundamental gymnastics' skills from her prior gym. When we were arrived, we greeted mildly at best and were told that our daughter class would be begin shortly and to place our stuff near the preschool room where she would meet her coaches, classmates and receive further instructions. Our daughter was greeted with lack luster enthusiasm and directed to follow the coaches. There were 3 coaches and five children per coach. The assigned coach didn't greet nor welcomed our daughter and didn't provide instructions on how to proceed with warm up and stretches. The coach then proceeded to ask one of the other coaches what their plans were for later tonight. My wife and I both looked at each other and were taken aback of the lack of focus from the coach. Our daughter tried her best mirror the other children. The coach simply divided the children into the 5-bar station and didn't provide instruction or demonstration to the class nor our daughter on what skills will be performed at each station. Our daughter was told to stay at the cheese wedge station and await further instruction. Being an excited and curious 3-year-old left the station to see what the children were doing at the other station, attempting to gather information of what to do. The coach reminded our daughter to wait at her station and then after 2-3 mins the coach returned to test our daughter's forward roll skills on the cheese wedge. The coach was surprised and impressed with how quickly she performed the skills. The other children were not performing their skills at stations and coach didn't attempt to provide more detailed instructions to enhance their learning. At which time, we began to question whether we made a good decision in choosing this gym. The children were then escorted to the main gym. We were directed to the upstairs viewing area. Being a new to and seeing all gym equipment. Our daughter naturally gravitated the new gym equipment. The coach attempted to redirect our daughter by bring her back to the group. Again, no instruction nor demonstration was provided to our daughter. A simple gesture to stay and to wait was given. The coach seemed disinterested in teaching our daughter because of her curiosity and wanting to explore this new gym. After about 30mins, the coach escorted our daughter away from the class into preschool room. Upon observing this, we immediately when down to the preschool room to see what the issue was. The coach simply said that our daughter was being excused because she didn't have "good listen ears" and that she was not ready for this class and suggested their parent and toddler class instead. Our daughter began to cry because she was being kicked out of the class. My wife asked the coach for explanation which fell on deaf ears and asked why the coach didn't demonstrate or provide instructions to our daughter. A supervisor came to provide us an explanation that the coach deemed our daughter's ability to focus was an issue because our daughter was pulling the coach's attention away from the other children and would create a safety issue. My wife provides insight to the supervisor regarding how the coach did not welcome nor took the time to provide appropriate instruction. The supervisor attempted to provide us an explanation of why the parent and toddler class would be more beneficial for our daughter. After 10 minutes of discussion and back-and-forth we were advised that our daughter can be given a secondary chance to return to the class. Our daughter continued the class without any further interruptions and perform all the skills as required for each station. The coach's attitude had changed, and she was very standoffish toward our daughter. At the conclusion of class, I requested to speak to the manager or owner of the gymnasium. The young lady at the front desk advised me that the owners were not available, and that my information would be shared with the owners. The owner has not reached out. We simply received the voicemail a few days later asking if we still interested in signing up for the class. The experience we received that ERA gymnastics, was below 1 star based on the interaction we had with the coach and the supervisor and the situation that happened at our trial. We would not recommend this gym as an introductory gymnasium to gymnastics because of the lackluster attention and detail of instruction provided to the children, it's disheartening especially as we are new to this sport. We have felt disrespected by the lack of effort to understand that a three-year-old child who is excited and full of enthusiasm would be made to cry because their coach did not dialogue appropriately.

From the first time I walked in to get more information from Francis, everything was straightforward, honest, and no-nonsense. It's a solid space to work out without pressure. The recent expansion has added another level of real functionality and appeal, making the space even better. You get high-quality equipment, a clean and well-designed space, and great coaching without paying for hype or trends. It feels like a smart investment if you're serious about training. The atmosphere is calm, welcoming, and non-judgmental--people of all levels are there to work out, and it's easy to feel comfortable whether you're new or experienced. Personal training with Francis has also been great. He's knowledgeable, has a good sense of humor, and makes sessions enjoyable while helping you see real progress. I'd highly recommend Axioms to anyone looking for a clean, functional gym with great equipment, fair pricing, and an inclusive, down-to-earth environment.

If multiple stairmasters are in that condition, it's only a matter of time before someone gets injured. a newly renovated gym shouldn't have equipment that's already this unreliable, especially at a chain that markets itself as a premium fitness experience. we all pay far to much to out up with this stuff guys! complain more! they need to know that if 24 hour is going to close functioning clubs for renovations, the least they can do is ensure the locations they're sending members to are actually safe and properly maintained!!

Since I bounce between LA and Placentia (LA wins custody because... work), I needed an AF fix nearby, and thankfully AFYB is just around the corner. I even dragged my fiancé and our son here to sign up, and honestly? Dan deserves a praise. Dan is the man, the myth, the membership-signing legend. Now, last night was my grand debut. Lovely gym, truly... but. I get it's a neighborhood vibe, but some of the ladies have repurposed the machines into full-service chisme loungers. Besties, I promise your gossip will still be piping hot if you move it to the lobby. Meanwhile, the teens were in a deep spiritual trance with their phones while occupying machines like emotional support furniture. My home gym has a strict "no zombies, no under-18s, no IG reel production studio" policy -- a rule I now deeply appreciate. If you want to scroll yourself into the metaverse, that's between you and the lobby chair, please don't hog the machines and pretend you're working out via telekinesis while watching the latest prank on reels uhhmmkay? I was once like you so believe me when I say you can't BS your way out of it with me. All that said -- AFYB is a genuinely nice gym, perfectly sized, and easy on the eyes. I get wanting to cater to the community, but considering AF's price point (which is giving "premium boutique" rather than "corporate cattle herd"), I expected policies to match. Otherwise, the zombie apocalypse WILL creep in and suddenly we're no better than Planet Fitness or 24 Grossness. Just saying.

The owner Edgar designs the workout programs to run for 4-6. So you will be doing the same exact exercises each week until the program changes. This gives you the ability to track your progress and make improvements throughout the program. This is very different compared to other group fitness class I've done, which change the workouts each week, and there isn't as much structure or emphasis on tracking your lifts. Funktional fitness is great for anyone wanting to improve their physical fitness. It's great for the beginner and for the advanced lifter.
