It's something to have in reserve ready to go. If a situation arises where conflict can't be avoided, his students have no choice but to win. Not only does Sensei Daniel teach how to defend yourself physically but he also shows how to do it in ways that can avoid those kinds of situations altogether. I personally had to use some of the lessons learned in the past after my car was stolen in front of my home. I was able to hear the engine start and noticed my car was missing. I took my other car out to see if I might be able find it. A few minutes later, I was able to spot my car at a red light. Both vehicles were involved in an accident and 3 people who were in the stolen car all ran in different directions. I was able to find one of the suspects walking on the sidewalk. I initially thought about different ways I could hold the person until the police arrived. Fortunately, I chose to keep talking to the person as a way of keeping them at the scene. During the phone call with the police, they asked if I was physically detaining the suspect and informed me that I could be the one committing a crime. In the end, all I had to do was talk until the police arrived. Sensei Daniel teaches his students to try to verbally de-escalate confrontations when possible and it helped me out that night. I recommend Samurai Academy for children and adults of all ages. You'll be able to learn how to defend yourself in different ways.

But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

It's by far the warmest pool we could find, and it's the only place where my son happily stays in the water without shivering. Our regular instructor is Mr. Nori, and he has been wonderful with my son. He's patient, encouraging, and fantastic with all of the kids I've seen in his classes. We recently missed a couple of lessons and had to attend makeup classes. For whatever reason, my son suddenly decided he didn't want to go back for his lesson. Miss Kaylee stepped in and was incredible. She tried everything she could to gently encourage him to go to the back pool, but when it became clear he wasn't going to do it, she didn't give up. Instead, she offered to work with him one-on-one in the front pool where we already were. She even promised she wouldn't put his head under the water. In the end, he became comfortable enough that he chose to put his face in the water on his own with her guidance, but she honored her promise and never forced him. That meant so much to me. I don't know if she was on her lunch break, between classes, or supposed to be doing something else, but I know that impromptu private lesson wasn't part of her day. She took the time simply because she cared, and it completely turned the experience around for my son. The best part is that it worked. Today my son happily got back in the water with Mr. Nori, and I honestly think it was his best lesson yet. Mr. Nori was so sweet, so encouraging, and genuinely proud of him. Seeing his confidence come back was such a great moment as a parent, and I really credit both instructors for making that happen. Every single person we've interacted with has been kind, welcoming, patient, and genuinely wonderful with kids. I honestly have not had a single negative experience here. The first class is free, the warm water makes such a difference, and the little splash pad was a huge part of getting my son's initial buy-in. From the instructors to the front desk staff, the entire team is amazing. If you're looking for swim lessons for your child, I highly recommend Australian Swim School!

We've been going to this school since they were in Fullerton, and they've always been great. My daughter started with Mr Nori and he's one of her favorite instructors. She's gone through a few instructors and we've never had a bad experience. My son now attends the school too. This morning, my daughter had a make up class and had to go into a different swim lane with a new teacher. She's been apprehensive about leaving her current school and starting kinder next year, and the emotions came out today. She started crying and holding onto me when she saw the new lane and instructor and said she doesn't want new things. Within seconds, Mr Scott came over and began comforting her asking if she'd like to see her other instructor Mayumi. Mayumi wasn't even dressed to go in the water, but rolled up her jeans and sat in another lane with her. Mr Nori came by to say hi and comfort her, and Mr Christopher gave her a private lesson for a few minutes while she adjusted. He eventually asked her if she wanted to join him in the new lane with the new instructor, and she said yes and was happy the rest of the time. Mayumi also came back to check on her. This is the level of care any parent looks for in a school and I highly recommend coming here.

One of our e-bikes had low battery charge and even though someone was able to bike out to where we were to delivery another battery, the replacement was also low and wouldn't be enough for the time we rented. We also lost time waiting for the other battery. However, kudos to the staff and owner because they made it right for us when we returned the bikes. Spot has good staff and a great location. Refreshing the bikes with newer models would bump it to 5 stars.

I'm so pleased with the experiences I have had with this school in the last 10 months! It's been a great experience for my 7-yr-old son and me! The feeling is that of "family" and the kids learn about self-defense, respect, discipline, and have fun in the process! I too have a blast there! I have been attending the adult classes at American Martial Arts Academy in Placentia for over two years. The staff and other students are very supportive and friendly. Most of the teaching is in groups but there is plenty of opportunity for one on one instruction. Everyone is challenged to perform to their personal best. The instructors are all very experienced and have exceptional people skills. The new studio is a great place to practice. Plenty of room with plenty of pads to keep people safe. If you are interested in attending Karate classes in a challenging but family friendly atmosphere this is the place. read more

We are so happy with the classes at AMAA! My son has been going there for a little over a year and is making tremendous strides in coordination, confidence, self-control, and discipline. We joined with a special that included a free 15-minute private lesson, and by time that lesson was finished, the instructors at AMAA were describing qualities in my son that had taken his teachers weeks to learn. They don't just know karate, but they know kids and how to personalize instruction and approach depending on each child's strengths, weaknesses, and personalities. My son has been training here for over a year, and we love it! He has built confidence and is more focused in his day-to-day. He was nervous about competitions, but now looks forward to them. Their schedule is super flexible. All of the instructors are great with the kids and show a real passion for what they do. And they have a coffee machine!! He recently celebrated his birthday there with 20 of his friends, and it was so much fun for all! Kudos to AMAA for the Parent Night Out that they hosted last Friday night, my boys had a blast. I've never experienced an After School and Summer Camp program that truly cares about my children! They take the time to get to know each child's likes, dislikes, triggers, and allergies. All the staff clearly LOVES what they do and are so happy to do it! My kids come home exhausted at the end of each day and we just get to have some quality family time together. I have watched the dojo grow into an excellent place to learn not only karate, but life skills and self defense as well. And for the younger students I see it is building coordination and valve, but must of all I see it builds confidence. And for these younger students, it its never too early to teach our children how to say no to all the negative influences, like drugs and alcohol. The children love his classes and activities as he keeps them engaged and having fun, while learning not only the physical aspects of TKD, but the tenants as well. Adult classes are challenging, great workouts, and the instructors focus on the individual - everything I look for. I have been training here for over 6 years, and monthly prices have never increased, no extra testing fees for colored belts, and you get everything you need for the monthly price including uniform and all belts up to recommended black. If you are a parent looking for a safe and encouraging place for your child to learn self confidence, respect, discipline, responsibility and self-control, you will not find better studio. If you are an adult looking to learn self-defense or just stay in shape, this is the school for you!

The instructors at the studio are incredible! My kids adore Master Chloe and Master Roman, along with their other instructors. They are so good with their students and demonstrate a perfect blend of encouraging the kids to push themselves while also making it a lot of fun. My kids have picked up so many life skills and values that go beyond just the moves of tae kwon do. They have learned how to succeed, how to fail, how to not give up, and pride in seeing how far they've come. If you're looking for an activity that allows your child to thrive as an individual, this is the place to be!

Not to mention our kids became bored and not motivated due to the fact, the grand master likes to yell/scold at students even though, he doesn't really teach. Master Kim is the opposite of everything we've experienced. He's passionate, dedicated, professional, funny, down to earth, and caring/sensitive to other people's need. Overall, he's a man of integrity. There's no rigid contract. He focuses on quality, fun, and well-rounded students. We'll be around here at Southern CA tkd academy as long as our kids want to keep going. Update: 7-13-2019 Our kids all accomplished their goal and it's been a long journey, yet we still feel fond of Master Kim. Nothing has changed. I was impressed with the owners/professors Eduardo & Hector for being very friendly, professional & knowledgeable of their craft with decades of experience. Professor Tami & Professor Smurf are great with the kids and teach them with patience, sternness and grace. They are all elite champions. It's extremely well organized, and everyone there truly cares about the kids. The new owners, Sensei Quan and Sensei Butler, have taken the program to another level.
