I booked the Cold Laser Treatment with high hopes based on the benefits described, but was surprised that the laser portion lasted only about five minutes. The device was held several inches from my face and moved continuously, which doesn't align with what I've learned through past experiences and research--effective low-level light therapy is typically applied much closer to the skin, ideally with steady, focused contact over a longer period. While I understand that multiple sessions may be necessary to see results, this treatment felt too brief and inconsistent to be effective. It left me questioning whether the technique was applied correctly and whether the service truly provides value for the cost. Greater transparency about what the treatment entails, along with reassurance that staff are properly trained in both technique and client communication, would go a long way. read more

My husband and I had a couples facial from Catherine and Kirsten. This was our very first facial ever! Both girls were very pleasant and so wonderful! Catherine whispered to me the whole time and explained the whole process. Such a wonderful peaceful experience. i debated writing a review but i decided to bc what happened was not acceptable. so i went to get my hair colored and i requested jasmine. she did great. we talked about what i wanted and about the colors and placement. she was really thorough. we had talked about what i wanted and the instructor basically disregarded what i wanted. i understand that it's a school and they have to get everything okayed but some of the instructors weren't very helpful. i was getting hidden halo into peekaboo with some high lights on top and i did not get what i paid for. they basically kicked me out. they only let the color sit for 10 minutes and i was not happy with the result. it wasn't vibrant. the instructor also blow dried my hair with the heat so hot and was being really rough with my hair. she almost ripped out one of my earrings. she also made my hair look really ugly. think open flame on a cue tip. it was so bad and very unprofessional. when i told jasmine that i didn't like it and she talked to them, they said if i wanted it fixed id have to pay for it. i said heck no. so now i have pink hair. much better than orange. i will not be going back. read more

I've been coming here for years now. Though crowded and loud, the school has a great vibe. Students are motivated and friendly and love their experience as students. Teacher-staff work alongside students and step in to correct any mistakes students may make. I have had color, haircuts, manipedis, eyebrow and lash tints, and the little girl Diva services. They have all been super. The prices are great. Duration for services are longer than normal. Bring dollars for tips. You cannot add tips to your bill. read more

Great place to come if you want to get the job done on your hair inexpensively. The best way to describe this place is you get what you pay for. I got tired of spending lots of money on a basic color and haircut so I was glad to come try this. It will get the job done, however it won't be a phenomenal job. If you have attachment issues to your hair I don't think this is the place for you. If you just want to get the job done, this is a great place to come. I got a basic all over color done and trim. You will have a student doing your hair, however there will always be a teacher looking over the student and touching up with your, which is good to have reassurance that your hair won't be messed up. My hair overall looks great. I got a plain black all over, and a 2 inch trim. Nothing to complain about. The customer service is great! My hair dresser was very friendly. I constantly had managers and employees asking me if I needed water or a snack, and asking if everything is ok. They constantly asked me if I liked my hair which was nice to see they cared. I spent $56 total for an all over color and trim. The trim was $18 and the color was $28 plus another $10 for an extra bowl of color used (I have long hair). read more

I went to this Academy for my junior prom. They have a special package where you can get your hair, nails, and makeup done for only $40, so I didn't go into my appointment with incredibly high expectations. I was completely blown away. Not only was most of my staff incredible, but my hair looked better than when I paid over thirty dollars to have it done for a formal event by a licensed hair stylist. It was fantastic! They made my hair look better than the photo I showed them on my phone and were willing to take as much time as they needed for my hair to look perfect. Whenever I gave a critique they listened and adjusted. My makeup was not as amazing as my hair, but it still was almost perfect. They asked lots of questions about how I liked the services and how my makeup was turning out, and my friend even asked them to start completely over and they did so without complaint. The only thing that I would have done differently was to not have my eyebrows done as big and bold, but that is more of a personal preference. My nails looked good, but as someone used to acrylics, were a little disappointing. My nail tech was the only person I didn't think was incredibly nice, and she seemed like she was in a hurry to get done with me. All in all, my experience was great, and they made me look great for prom! I have and would recommend this to anyone in search of cheap and great hair styling for a formal event! read more

For YEARS, I have gone to EFA because I feel it's important to give students the opportunity to hone their skills. Have always had a great experience - until I started getting my lashes done. One time, about 6 months ago, my lashes fell out and I was told that they couldn't get me in to fix them. Then, I was told that they had changed glues. Then, when I spoke with the manager of the spa, she was a total B. Prior to then, I had never had an issue with anyone at EFA. They've always been amazing and kind. She is a terrible fit. This time, another eyelash appointment goes awry. Within the same day, many lashes had fallen out and some were sticking out sideways. I called and asked if they could replace them. They spoke with the spa manager to get permission to fix my lashes. The spa manager made sure to inform me that they were only going to replace what had fallen out. THAT'S ALL I ASKED FOR. She then wished to inform me that if I had any more problems, they would be happy to recommend a professional to do my lashes at a different salon. Reallly? To me, that's incredibly unprofessional and passive aggressive. Also, I already have a stylist that can do my lashes - and I will now go to her for that, as I don't have the time to waste to go back in and spend an hour to get 14 lashes replaced. If my hair was messed up, they would fix it without any question. But this lady - she has a hard time playing nice. Which is sad, because she's going to lose a lot of business for the school. I will never go to any Eric Fisher Salon again, Academy or otherwise. There is no reason for anyone to put up with poor customer service or nonsense like this. Too many salons in town. read more

The financial aid lady at the school was very rude and not helpful to my daughter when she went to enroll. My daughter is ending up paying for her school out of her pocket thanks to this lady. Dont bother with an appointment with them until covid is completely gone. I booked early for an appointment, I was ten minutes early and called in like they had asked. My appointment was at 915 at 930 I went without a call back because that never came. I was told I was late and they would have to reschedule me, even though I explained that I was not in fact late. I was basically told too bad and the earliest they could get in was in two weeks because I can only come in during certain hours due to my work. I love that Eric opened the academy... as I have only been able to afford his actual salon on one occasion and felt it was ridiculously overpriced... $175 for a haircut and high lights. However, now me and my oldest daugter get our hair done at his academy for less than 20 each. His students are amazing. My personal favorite is Michael. We both have long thick hair and Michael is so great with our hair and shaping eye brows. The facility does not look like a school at all however, it has the feel of a salon that would be on the west coast. And you will probably even see Eric while you're there. He once came over and couldn't say enough about how great my hair was... and that was before my stylist even cut it... he then ask if I was one of his hair models. ; ) read more

The instructors supervise the students through all the steps so it's like getting two stylists! It took a little longer than a regular salon, but who cares? Went there today for the Luxe Package, special until the end of May 2013. Full foils, conditioning treatment, shampoo, cut and style for $50 (normally $66). I could not be happier with the results. Nikki was the student taking care of me from start to finish.She was extremely helpful and gave me a great consultation. She took great care when placing the foils and I was just amazed how great they came out, didn't even need a toner. During the shampooing she gave me such a great scalp massage that I almost fell asleep. She then gave me a great haircut, exactly what I wanted, and styled it beautifully. Throughout the process several of their top-notch instructors where always on hand to give tips and help when needed. If you want an appointment with Nikki you will have to hurry, because she will be graduating in August. However, this is a great school with super instructors, so you will surely be as thrilled as I am no matter which student stylist you get. Be mindful that this is a school and the instructors are always checking on the students and their progress, so bring some time. Also be reasonable with your demands; they are student stylists not magicians. As far as I am concerned, the reason I go to a stylist is for their expertise, so bringing in a picture of the style you want is a great starting point, but I trust the stylist to evaluate my hair texture, take the way it grows into consideration and adapt the style I want to the shape of my head. To sum it up; this is a great school with great instructors and students eager to learn. Will recommend this school to everybody. Same services as you would get in a salon, but for half price. read more

This place is great! It is easy to get an appointment (and sometimes just walk in.) You can get any service that you would normally get in a salon or spa...at a fraction of the cost. The students who have done my hair, nails and facials have been professional and well-trained. (I don't think the nail treatments are as quality as a nail salon, simply because these students are also studying hair styling, rather than focusing on nails all day.) That might not be a fair assessment, since I only had one pedicure there. This place provides a great way to pamper yourself and save some money at the same time. I heard about the Eric Fisher Academy when I was younger and absolutely loved the sound of it. I just recently graduated high school, and went for a tour of the academy a week afterwards. Absolutely beautiful. Everyone there is friendly and extremely nice. This is one place the you will be greeted with a smile and friendliness every single time you come in. I plan on attending the November 25th, 2013 class, and I couldn't be more excited. Eric Fisher Academy and salons are top-rated and (I believe) The best there is. I am in town for business and needed a color correction and root touch. I checked among three hair schools in the area for reviews and found Eric Fisher had above average marks over the others. I made my appointment three days ahead. I received a friendly reminder call the day before. Upon walking in, there is a large bright entry where there were already ten customers waiting. When checking in, I was asked if I would like coffee or something to drink. There is a small boutique with jewelry, vogue tops, candles, etc. Brindalya greeted me and took me back to the work station. She pulled out her iPad and showed me various pictures of hair color. I picked the color I wanted and the Instructor, Andra found two swatches of color to combine. I observed my surrounding and could see how every student was concentrating on their customer's hair. There are several instructors constantly walking around and observing their student's progress. Andra is wonderful in that she came up with the idea of saving some of my current deep red color and wrapping in foil of conditioner while the dark brown color was added to the rest of my hair. She explained that this would add dimension to my hair instead of having a solid color. They really care about hair and maximizing on the potential of awesomeness. While it did take almost five hours ( I have long thick hair), I feel I am giving students a chance to gain confidence in becoming future wonderful hair stylists. And you pay a fraction of what you will pay in a Salon. I was offered complimentary drinks and snack bar a few. I walked out with a better hair color than I expected! Do bring cash for tips! Worth the 30 minute drive! Only one thing that was negative: I did have to wash my hair afterwards because the color was not completely washed out around the back of my neck where my head rested on the wash basin. I went to the Eric Fisher Academy for the first time today, and I will definitely be back! It was less than $40 (before tip) for two haircuts and a deep conditioning treatment for both my mother and myself, and I have to say, this is the best quality hair cut I think I've ever received. There is an instructor checking in every step of the way to insure that you're getting quality work done, and the students do a really amazing job. The appointment did take a little longer than normal, but the quality is definitely worth it. They students and the instructors pay great attention to detail, so you won't walk out with an uneven or sloppy cut (as I've had happen at other salons). They also ask check in with you throughout the appointment to make sure they're giving you exactly what you want. For the first time ever, I walked out with my hair looking exactly how I wanted it to. I really could not be happier! read more

The services at EFA are great, however I would never recommend that anyone go to school there. It is honestly such a joke. Nothing is done professionally nor handled in a professional manor. They definitely play favorites at the school. When giving tours they make the school seem like something it's really not! As a previous student in the Esthetics program I believe that their program is heading straight down hill. I would have much rather attended a different school now looking back on it. If you are looking into going there, I'd advise you to ask random students at the school what they think about it, and I'm certain most would agree! read more

I had a shellac manicure done the other day. The girl was very nice. But there were multiple things I noticed when I came home. my nails were not completely polished. Thankfully there weren't any bubbles. The process did take a little longer also than I expected. I would say this time the service was just ok. I have always enjoyed getting my nails done at EFA. I've been going to EFA for about three years now. I love, love, love it!!! My mom and I both go there and I take my daughter there, as well. Two things: First, I recently got my hair foiled and there was a blob of color right in the middle of my hair that I didn't notice for a week because it was right on the top of my head. I was just told by the receptionist that, because it wasn't reported in 72 hours, they probably won't fix it. So just be forewarned on that. Second, the only really bad experience I've had was when the instructor was Christina. She told my student to cut my hair a different way and I had to ask the student to get another instructor. I had to end up raising my voice to get her to back off when she wanted to cut my bangs completely different from what I wanted. She also did this with my mother and ended up yelling at my mother and refusing to cut her hair the way my mother asked for. Mind you, this was after they had started and cut off most of her hair. My mother left in tears, went to my aunt (who hasn't been in beauty school in 40 years) and got it cut exactly the way she had asked for in the first place. I don't think my mother will be back, but I probably will. I just ask at the front desk not to be set in her section and that seems to be working out. The only thing I could say to the academy is to please instruct your students to acknowledge when they make a mistake. After discovering my hair color mess up, it is glaringly obvious that, because she straightened my hair in 1 inch sections, she knew it was there and ignored it. read more
