Having heard stories from friends about the discomfort and pain associated with a root canal procedure, I was apprehensive. But, my experience was completely pain-free and surprisingly pleasant. Every staff member I encountered was professional yet friendly, and put my at complete ease. I was treated initially by Dr. Woods, then by Dr. Ballentine on a subsequent visit. Dentistry of North Port told me I needed two crowns replaced because the teeth under them had large cavities because of dark areas on the gums. I had no issues with either of them, no pain, they felt strong. They kept me there for over 3 hours and gave me an estimate of over $20,000. They made an appt immediately to get started on the process, an hour before my appt even ended. They even had me on The Lending Tree website to finance, wanted me to complete the process right then. Since then, I have had those crowns replaced. There was nothing wrong with the teeth under the crowns. "Nice and strong" according to the dentist who replaced them. Pretty unbelievable. Also, I'd like to add that the hygienist at this office kept putting down my hygiene, saying I needed to do better. I have never had a hygienist say that to me. Every one I've ever been to has had nothing but good things to say about the way I care for my teeth. Most are surprised at how clean they are. Beware.

There is nothing good about this practice, neither the work done or their predatory billing…read morepractices. I had major work done with veneers and crowns. The veneer in my front tooth is moving and not straight anymore after only one year. Bernitt must have put it in wrong. I would have gone back in but I feared they would make it worse. To compound this they overcharged me. my last visit they said I had a credit balance of $418, but months later they started sending me bills for $838 balance due, which were not true, I paid everything plus insurance paid more. I disputed it and analyzed my ledger sending them proof that they actually owed me money. Then their auditor did his own sneaky audit and said now I owe $1,379! It did not include previous credits shown on the ledger they sent me. Nevertheless I offered to settle with them for $300 but never heard back. Now they have sicked a collection agency on me that has been harassing me with phone calls and wanting to charge an additional $345 in fees on top of the $1,379! Bernitt and his crew are criminals acting like the mafia. They are not honest or trustworthy and do not live up to their promises or agreements and the $12,000 work I received is subpar at best. Do not under any circumstances use them or trust them for your dental work. I have heard from 6 others in the community that their billing practice was unfair to them as well.
