Erich remove my existing storm door and retain, putting it back after installing my New main entrance door . Erich perfectly installed main entrance door including frames that was replaced included on new door package we bought. He is concern of what he does , after removal of frames no insulation on my old door , he added insulation on new door top to bottom our door that he installed close nicely you can even hear the door closes perfectly . I was happy that i hired Erich among other Contractors recommended by Menards . Poor workmanship, unprofessional and lacks integrity. Was hired for a condo remodel. Described his skills as being a "perfectionist". During cabinet install he hung an upper cabinet in wrong location, as a result the 3 large screw holes were then on the side of cabinet next to the sink. He Did not tell us, he tried to hide the holes by filling them with a bad match putty stick. The laminate trim he installed around the cabinets was all chipped and mitered corners were terrible and filled with the same non matching putty. We saw the blade on his power miter saw contained numerous missing and bent teeth. When asked about the poor workmanship he just stared at us. He said he would pay for replacing the cabinet and trim and re install same. He started laying the laminate flooring in an "H" pattern. We reminded him we wanted a random pattern. He asked us to show him what we wanted. When we told him we expect him to know what a random pattern would be and he began sending pictures off the internet. The next day he arrived early to the job site and packed up is equipment. He left the job unfinished and in need of repair. He never paid for nor reinstalled the cabinet and trim. read more

Company was hired through Lowes. Abandoned the job halfway through. Installers were unprofessional. Also spoke with Erich himself and he never returned to ensure the job was completed. Worst experience I've ever had with a company. Now I have to deal with Lowe's to find another company to come and fix/complete the job that this company did not. Do not use this company. read more

We bought a new patio door from Lowe's and they contracted Erich's Carpentry to do our install. The install has been a nightmare. They were quick to schedule our install, but they didn't come at the time they said they would. They said they would be here around noon, but showed up early in the morning. Luckily we were able to make it work. The install went really fast. The guys seemed to be rushing honestly. They were in such a rush, they did a horrible job finishing the job. The caulking was horrendous. They cut into the drywall to take out the old trim and there were gaps and cuts still showing outside their horrible caulking job. IF that wasn't bad enough, a couple weeks later we had water coming into our house at the bottom. We called Lowe's and they sent them out to assess for about 5 minutes. They kept saying they were going to come back but never did. You cannot call Erich because his voicemail is always full and he doesn't answer the phone. I communicated with him via text and he was rude and had no interest in communication after they first came out here. I called Lowe's and he was giving them false information about appointments he claimed he scheduled with me. I told them we had nothing scheduled and I haven't heard from him. I waited about a month and then I called to request a different company to fix their mistakes. They did not want to fix them at all. I would not recommend this company for any work. You cannot trust them to do a good job or to guarantee that their work was done correctly. We are now about 2 months since install and things still haven't been fixed. Erich's Carpentry did our siding and our windows. It was years ago and we have never had any issues. In fact, my husband accidentally broke one of our windows and we called him to replace it. He came himself to patch it up until a replacement came in and installed it. He was nice enough to not even charge us for the replacement. His prices were average, but his service and craftsmanship was worth every penny. I would use him again and recommend him to anyone who needs something done to their home. read more

As Erich is an independent installer for Lowe's all over the Chicago area, he was assigned to my install of a storm door. After 2 weeks and 4 calls to Lowe's installation department he finally contacted me (and lied about having called me previously). He criticized Lowe's for telling me a door ordered on 11/8 should be able to be installed by Thanksgiving. Then said he'd hire more workers but "no one has any skills and they don't speak English or want to work"! Installers finally arrived today and the door was the wrong size, which they should have known as soon as they took it out of the box. Instead, they installed the separately purchased handle, thereby making the door nonreturnable. The installer said jambs could be extended and the door would fit, but I wouldn't like the way it looked so he wouldn't do that, despite me telling him I'd be okay with that. They removed my old door and took it with them, refused to return the door they damaged to Lowe's, essentially telling me I was stuck with a $400 purchase that they damaged. I contacted Erich who promised to get back to me to reschedule finishing the job. Several hours later I called him again (And had to repeat the whole situation as he seemed to have no idea who I was). Again, he promised to get right back to me. As I assumed this would not happen, I spoke to a manager at Lowe's who intervened on my behalf. Erich called me after that and blamed me for his employee's screw up and implied I was lying about the measurements. Then wanted to charge me an additional amount and have to wait another week! Fortunately Lowe's took care of this and the job is being finished tomorrow. I made sure to tell them all of this,.in hopes they find other contractors who don't argue with customers and blame them for their own mistakes. read more

Spoke with the guy on the phone for 15 minutes Thursday about a quote and he seemed nice so I won't click a 1-star rating. He agreed he was interested in the job, but needed to his check calendar for availability to come out. I offered to send photos of the two rooms that need work, and we could set something up then. I offered to text and he said ok. Later that night I sent photos and no response. I followed up without photos on Saturday. No response. I don't know about you, but a flaky contractor is the last thing I need. How this guy is BBB Accredited, I have no idea. Good luck to those who actually get him to respond. read more

I had a run in with his driver and left an email with the owner and if he hires people like his driver NO thanks! His driver cut me and another person off and I had a baby in the car and had to slam on my brakes because he was leaving a gas station and cut thru 3 lanes of traffic and I called and the driver was so smug and said tough shit lady. then I get a text message from his "supposed boss saying sorry that the driver lost all of his family members in a car accident and I am calling BS on that lie, if it were true no one would drive like this idiot!! almost caused us to be seriously injured. read more

We have had siding, roofing, windows, patio doors, painting, stairs, garage doors, and other minor things that have needed expert attention and that's exactly what we get from Erich.
