The tech told me they couldn't order the part from their supplier but if I could find it on my own they'd be happy to do the repair. I was given a part number which I misplaced, so had to call back to reconfirm. They didn't have the records so spoke to a different tech who had to pull the unit apart again so he called me back a day or so later with a part number. So part number confirmed and validated you'd think. WRONG! I called around and found it from a Toronto based supplier. Item was back ordered but was delivered to my home some 6 weeks later. I dropped it off at Northgate Appliances who said nothing for 2 months until I called to follow up. I was told I ordered the wrong part and should come in and pickup up my microwave asap. What?? But ya'll gave me the part number?? It became a circular argument, I attempted to escalated to the owner Mak, he wouldn't return my calls. I made the typical bad review threat any disgruntled customer would make, didn't get me anywhere. Went in today to collect my appliance and was slapped with a $400 invoice for storage fees! Wow, just wow! Finally Mak shows up and tells me to pay up or leave. Out a microwave, out of pocket $130 for parts, out a lot of time, fuel & here's the cherry on top, police called to throw out 'unruly' customer! Shoulda just tossed out the damn thing and bought another! Thanks for coming to my TED talk, deal with Northgate Appliances at your own peril!

The best example was when they ordered the replacement parts for a built in Sharp microwave drawer. I was able to repair it myself rather than having a different company remove the unit, take it to their shop to assess and then potentially charge me almost $400 and possibly damage my expensive cabinetry. He also cleaned underneath my stove (40 dollars- a discount of 30, he said). He refused to give me a receipt because he gave me a discount. I am reporting him to the cra and consumer ripoffs. Obviously, he is not claiming the money on his taxes. What a jerk. It is illegal to not provide a receipt when a customer requests one.

He promptly identified the pump that failed in my washer and had a replacement in his vehicle. Took him a few minutes and the deed was done! He left me the parts to verify the work (thank you!) I appreciated his care and cleaning up making the work look effortless (and I know it wasn't!). He had to make some electrical connections for the replacement pump and it was working on no time! I will happily pay for his expertise any day!

Because of moving and upgrading or installing them in my shop or garage i have bought 4 built inn models and found Mainstreet Vacuum to supply me with all i need whether it be new upgraded motors, tools, hoses, or even plastic connectors. I refer them to all i know because they know their stuff and treat me like a friend. Even their dog Joey is friendly.
