I was not pleased with my experience. I had a dress altered and the seamstress made alterations…read morethat were not discussed when I dropped it off. She tried to justify why she altered the dress the way she did rather than taking blame or calling me to explain why she thought she needed to make these alterations before doing so. This resulted in the dress being ruined and left me having to get a new one altered. She still charged me for the alterations and then proceeded to say I was being overly dramatic and was by far the worst customer service I have had. I like to be able to give back to small businesses like this in the community but this experience has ruined it for me.

My soon to be daughter in law went there to pick out a wedding dress. She spent money on one dress, asked if she could exchange or at the very least get a discount on the next one, and was told no. The workers were very rude to her, and even after trying to call and email the owner, she never got a response. Their only resolution was for her to buy another dress. She was going to spend way more money there buying a veil and hairpiece! But they didn't care. They were of no help. This is supposed to be a place where a bride to be can go and feel pampered and comfortable about such an important and expensive purchase. DO NOT USE THEM! Go anywhere but there!!! So of course I sent in my measurements, making sure they were very accurate, so there would be no mistake in size when I received my dress. Upon calling to make my final payment, I was charged $60 over the quote I was given, because my dress was over size 18. Apparently that is their policy. However, I am smaller than a size 18. I told the clerk this, and she argued with me telling me that my measurements would equate to a size 18 dress. So I gave in, paid the extra money, and waited a week to receive my dress. I was sent a size 26 dress. The dress was FAR too big for me, and I had to pay $60 in my town to get it altered to fit my body by someone who knew what they were doing. I honestly believe that this dress shop overcharged me for a size they knew I did Not need just to squeeze an extra $60 out of me. Unfair and unprofessional business!

I took my 2 machines in, both having slight problems and both probably needing a little cleaning…read more First off she started out saying that she was backed up with machines and it might take a good long while to get them fixed. "so please don't start calling me every week asking me when they'll be done". I had a bad feeling but left them anyway. 2 months went by and no call - I finally called and she said she'd just had personal stuff going on and that she's trying to get caught up. (which is why she said she was backed up when I dropped them off) All total of 3 months to get them back. Paid a couple hundred to get my Bernina 1230 "fixed" - still doesn't work right. Paid the same for my Janome (that I think the timing was off on). She said she fixed the Bernina but could not figure out the fix on the Janome (but I still had to pay for fixing it, even tho it still didn't work right - but she cleaned it lol). Called someone else actually nearer to me and described the issue with the Bernina - was told easy fix and should take about a week. He said he's literally never had a Bernina 1230 that he couldn't easily fix. Also said he's heard others complain of the Dakota Sew & So. My advice, don't take your machine there, drive out of your way if you have to to find a better repair shop.

They sent the wrong boot width and size, the time taken to get the replacement in and the utter lack of any compensation, discount, anything customer satisfaction related turned me off completely to returning to this business for my future boot needs. This reflects on local management as well as the distributor as they were the ones to push me towards online ordering and repeatedly claimed that they'd make it right without actually accomplishing anything. I'll shop elsewhere in the future and would advise you to as well.
