Jacquie answered all our questions, assisted us in drawing a stage after the one we had originally requested was too big for the room. She managed to set up the hall using diagrams and worked closely with the lightning and stage crew to make sure that everything was working from the sound system to the lights. Jacquie went out of her way to ensure that everything we asked was there and because it was christmas, we even had fairy lights around the room and a christmas tree at the front.

It's close to home, offers a great rate per game plus sells some delicious wedges with bacon, cheese and sour cream and chives. The wedges are a perfect pre game treat that gives you energh to beat your opponent. I went there with a church group and we had a great time, the competitive spirit was welcomed. We did not get any funny looks for cheering each other on and the staff even laughed and clapped when we sung to encourage each other.

I liked how they incorporated pinball, planko, pool, and ball maze into the games, instead of just got traditional putt putt course. And the directions before each hole was cool. Holes are short, so you'll knock out 18 in about 40 minutes.

Firstly, it's the perfect size - big enough that you feel like you're at the "tennis" but small enough that even if you are sitting in the nosebleeds (as we were) you still have a great view. I even forgot my glasses and still didn't have any troubles seeing the ball, which is really saying something. Secondly, the hospitality/food area set up out the back is great. This year they got Masu on board to provide a fancy food alternative, which I loved. Food at sporting events is normally so average - hot chips, hot dogs and the like - that it's an absolute treat to see a decent alternative for those willing to spend a little more coin. I have no idea what they use this stadium for year round - junior competitions I suppose - but I hope that it's maintained and continues to operate just as it did at this year's Festival of Tennis! Silo park is the epitome of this with it's markets, free concerts, free dance lessons on a Sunday, basketball hoops, water features and much more! They also have a great range of events in the Silos themselves such as art exhibitions with my favourite two thus far being the time lapse of NZ landscapes with accompanying music through headphones while lounging on beanbags and if course Tom Gould and Anna Delanys Two of a Kind exhibition. Definitely a community park with a unique history, Silo Park in Auckland NZ is located right off of…read morethe harbor in Wynyard Quarter. When we visited on a Sunday afternoon, it was very much alive with children, many of whom were practicing to ride their bikes (some with training wheels, many were not) at the adjacent parking lot. It is so named because of the 7 silos that dominate the scenery around the park. They were built and used to store cement, but have now been converted into an art and exhibition center and movie screen for outdoor cinema. How cool is that!

A shuttle bus takes walkers from the ferry carpark to the start of the Sculpture trail - this is $5 for the day and can be bought ahead of time when you purchase your ferry ticket in Auckland which was very handy. All the staff on site from the shuttle drivers to on-site Art experts are very knowledgable and friendly. The art on display changes with each exhibition - this year's collection were all different and wonderful to view (and in some cases) explore. Despite the number of visitors on the sunny day I visited (the second to last day of the exhibit), it did not feel over-crowded and there were plenty of opportunities for quiet contemplation amongst the stunning Waiheke island scenery, and with stunning views across the gulf back to the city. A marquee hosted smaller sculptures, an event-specific restaurant, Waiheke island wines and beer and live music - a great place to catch up with friends either pre-or post-walk or before your ferry home. An excellent day out and a great way to explore our city!

A couple of highlights this year were the dog agility course and the runway - where you could select dress-up clothes and then walk the catwalk with the backdrop of the gorgeous Gulf behind you. There are also more traditional sculptures, and everything inbetween. I also recommend taking advantage of the guides, who can give you background information about the pieces, but it's equally nice to explore by yourself too. Bring your camera!

You can pick from two courses; the Captain's Course or Blackbeard's Course. If you're not with a big group or you're just very patient, its cheaper to play 36 holes and makes for healthy competition between friends! I really like the way they've set up the course, its very animated, interactive and a real sight to see, even if you're just driving past. It can be especially tough to play when its windy out, so I'd suggest checking the weather just in case. All in all though, its a great spot to incorporate into a family day and I'd highly recommend it for anyone keen to have little fun and competition.

I came here for a Polo event with the 'Mallets and Pony Club'. It was a brilliant event and I'd…read morerecommend it to anyone who wants to try something new. We started off the day in town with drinks and then bused out to the Auckland Polo Club to watch the Polo. It was a really nice day, the weather was good and it was a brilliant way to hang out with friends and do something different. Throughout the day we had lunch, a few drinks, had a dance party and fitted in a little Polo watching in there somewhere. It was also great to see everyone dressed up and looking good. A highlight of the day was watching one of the horses race a car. It was amazing to see how powerful these horses are and also to watch the skills of the riders. I had such fun and even though I didn't know much about Polo to begin with, I left with a better understanding and appreciation for this awesome sport.
