We were greeted by the owners and they are amazing, very personal and easy to talk to. We were brought into the room and the one owner tells the story getting you into the vibe and she is what sold me. Her excitement was everything and got me invested getting out. The room was thematically fun and smart, and though not the most high tech room, everything was purposeful and smartly placed. You can feel the love they have for a good escape room and I want to happily pass that on. The room was a high challenge rating, and I will say it definitely got my brain thinking. All 3 of the rooms are well thought out and are not easy to escape from...you can ask for a clue to help you on your way. I had to ask for quite a few. Overall I felt that UNLOCK THE ADVENTURE was very entertaining and I would say a definite visit for all the family. We wouldn't have gotten nearly as far as we did without the wonderful Janet. She definitely made the already awesome experience even better. Previously, I did most of my axe throwing in my enchanted forest. After one too many yeets, several maple trees ganged up and tortured me in my sleep -- leaving me behind as they ran away to find new ground. All of us had a blast solving puzzles and competing to see which group would solve their room first. The puzzles are challenging and really engage everyone's unique abilities. We also had some time to test our axe throwing skills. Our group loved this too. I think that this is a great place for all types of groups. Hopefully we get to return for some more fun.

You are greeted by the charismatic host, Dick, who explains to you the rules of the game and the gore you are about to expect. I hate scary things so I was terrified. But as we move into the 3 escape rooms, it gets less and less scary. There are live actors mixed with a bunch of animatronics. The actors do get rather close to you, but it is nothing extreme. Our group did not make it through, but we definitely had a lot of laughs on the way. Escape rooms are great for groups, with the level of creepiness, I would say this is more so for 13+.

She watched us through video, and we could speak with her through intercom. She helped us when we requested, and did not make us feel as if we were total morons for not figuring something out. With no hopes of getting out due to NO KEYS!!

This was a first time experience in an Escape Room for all of us. (Ages ranging from 28 - 72) Finding all the gems was challenging, but since there were hints available if a majority of the group agreed to request one, I think this room would be great to include a younger family member too. I'm anxious to find an escape room in North Carolina to take my younger (11 & 13) grandkids to. I just hope that I can find one that is as well run as this one. Please don't be too intimidated to try this. You are not ever actually locked in. It's a puzzle that needs a group working together to solve. Give it a try!! PS: Everyone should be aware, that this business is on the second story of an old building, which gives it quite a bit of character, but the staircase is long and there are no elevators.
