Updating my review…read more Tyler and Sam reached out to me upon reading my review and graciously offered to make up an instructor no-showing by comping their $30/30 days special. This alone speaks volumes of how much they care about their business and the community. After taking 2-4 classes a week for the past 4 weeks, I can say they absolutely deserve 5 stars. There is a separate restroom down the hall which has a code for extra security/privacy. Their studio is clean, smells great, and offers beautiful views and vibes both during the day and night. I love the view of the mountains during the day and the natural light. At night, depending on which class you take, you could partake in a candle lit class, a cool color-changing class, sound bath classes, and more. I have taken classes with Sam, Alyssa, Keshia, and Jen. They all offer a unique experience and I enjoyed each of them in a different way. So much variety AND time slots, you are sure to find what you need. From slow flows, to sculpt classes (fun!), to sound bath/meditative classes, and even mat pilates. So many options. I really enjoy hot classes and I believe they only offer hot classes on Saturdays (they do offer warm classes throughout the week though!) They are close enough to the Trolley Station where you can easily get a smoothie or quick bite before or after class, but far enough so parking is never a problem. Perfect location. I came across their studio through ClassPass and so glad I did. I am the type that enjoys both "personal" studios and "commercial" studios for separate reasons. If you like personal studios, I'd highly recommend The Balanced Yogi. Be a part of the family and enjoy the opportunity of growing with their teachers on their journeys.

Practicing out of doors, in such a beautiful spot, lifted my spirits each time I went, making it a pleasure instead of a chore. It is the only workout that has ever left me feeling energized instead of drained. Recently, my husband agreed to having a private session once a week in our home. In addition to easing his chronic back pain, it has become a way to bring us closer, the physical practice of breathing together, balancing together and cooperating in our workout translating into a more natural cooperation in everything else. I've always been nervous starting something new -- that feeling of being the only one who doesn't know what they're doing -- but our instructor, Sahar, completely put that to rest from the moment I walked in. The 50-minute reformer class was challenging but totally manageable for a beginner and for somehow who isn't done any exercise in over 5 years. She was friendly, patient, and genuinely funny, keeping the whole class talking and laughing -- which of course made the time fly by. She made sure everyone felt included, and I never felt out of place or behind. I injured my shoulder earlier this year and when she saw me struggling she came and helped me modify what we were doing so that I could do it safely. The studio itself is clean, easy to find, and parking is a breeze. They have grippy socks you can buy there if you don't have any, that's what I did my first class. I was a sore for a few days but in the best way possible, and I liked it so much I've already gone back a couple times. My only wish is that she had more morning class options throughout the week. If you've been on the fence about trying Pilates, go for it. You're in great hands, especially if you schedule a class with Sahar.

From day one, he's made me feel supported, seen, and capable of so much more than I thought possible. He's a gifted teacher, a natural coach, and one of the most uplifting humans you'll ever meet. If you're even thinking about starting Pilates, this is your sign: go with Andrew. And yes, this goes for both women and men (hello, even pro athletes are doing Pilates now ~ and Andrew's that guy). He doesn't just lead a class ~ he tunes into the room, gives the most intuitive hands-on adjustments, and makes these tiny, perfect tweaks that completely transform your practice. It's wild how much of a difference it makes. And the vibe? So good. You feel like the only person in the room when he's working with you. I asked if they had a water station, which I was given attitude as well for asking this question. It's as if a water station is not a normal thing at a work out studio so I don't understand the attitude in the response. They probably wanted me to buy their water which I can understand, however it was the attitude given to me that bothered me. I took a break outside of the class and there were other girls outside taking a break as well, indicating that they had empty water bottles and the heat was too much for them but they didn't have any water. I gave more stars than I wanted because of the instructor, Sam. She was so nice and accommodating and I loved her energy. She checked in on the people taking breaks, I appreciated her teaching the class!

I'm deeply disgusted, disappointed and saddened by my recent experience at this studio with Amber…read more As someone who is currently pregnant and has never been to a Pilates class, I was shocked when the instructor responded with "OH FUCK" and rolled her eyes and walked back telling the other employees LOUDLY "she's pregnant!" She acted as if I had a contagious disease. I completely understand the need for caution and specialized training when it comes to prenatal fitness, but I was never told that I needed any kind of prerequisites prior to my class. To yell "oh fuck" roll her eyes and walked away from me without explanation or sensitivity, felt discriminatory and insensitive. It was a moment that made me feel excluded and unwelcome, at a time when feeling strong and supported is more important than ever. I sincerely hope the studio reconsiders or at least trains its staff to handle such situations with more empathy and professionalism. Expecting mothers deserve to be treated with respect, not as liabilities.

I attended their monday evening oneness blessing many years ago, and my boyfriend and his mom suggested we go (i mean it had been so long..and why!?) yesterday, but we were not sure they still had it on monday nights. We arrived at 7 pm to find Katherine (the gentle soul who does the blessings) leaving, with the parking lot empty. We were so sad until she let us know that she was heading over to the golden hills community center where they hold the blessing every other week. We raced over there just in time. The blessing consists of a short centering meditation followed by approximately 1.5 hours of the people conducting the blessings laying their hands over your head. After this you lie down and take in the blessing. It was a wonderful experience, and everyone there was so welcoming and inviting. I am not sure why I haven't been in many years. It is amazing that this is free, and that people donate their time to essentially give all their energy and healing to you for 2 straight hours. I am so happy that this place exsists. I hear they have a lovely gift shop with many amazing crystal specimens and yoga also. I have been looking for a place to do yoga, and this may be the place!

It's mind boggling how she knows that your foot, arm, head, etc. needs to move just one to two inches to get the most out of each pose. Her precision to breathing benefits us all, long after we've left her studio. Her meditative voice is intoxicating. It's as if any worries of the day are not allowed into this sacred place. Catherine's hypnotic tone gently engulfs your mind and you willingly surrender to a welcoming calm. I have searched for several years for the "perfect" yoga class, one that is peaceful, serene, loving and still offers deep poses and gentle stretches.
