My hair was beyond fried from a previous salon in OC, coconut oil couldn't even save me. I honestly was not expecting much cause my hair was so damaged, I stayed up all night wondering if I really should go on and do my hair or not. I always end up with either an uneven mess, a shorter style than asked for, or I leave before even sitting in a chair because I have someone asking me to straighten my hair before they cut it (absolutely not, ma'am). My hair was in DESPERATE need of some TLC because I had taken an exceptionally long time in between cuts (like 2 and a half years kind of long). After getting another hair tie lost in my mangled hair, I Yelped "hair cuts" and Got Color showed up, great reviews and super close to my house, so I said to myself, "self, now is the time!" I called Shasta, the owner, and she was able to get me in the same afternoon. Annette is like an artist with hair, but not one of those "step back, close one eye, arm out, turn thumb left and right, chop some off, charge $150" types of artists. She actually told me what she was gonna do before she did it, explained it while she was doing it, checked in with me on a number of my preferences, and LISTENED!!! Plus she is SO sweet and a joy to talk with. Before she cut my hair, she double washed it and used a peppermint shampoo and conditioner that made my scalp feel aaahhhmazing, then put me under a dryer for a few to give my hair some extra moisture. Once she cut it, she somehow managed to keep much of my length but make a drastic difference in my hair quality (enough so that no one really noticed I cut my hair, but keep asking me why my hair looks extra curly and healthy).
