I booked it trough an on-line booking site, and got the "free breakfast and mini bar" at the same price as the room without it normally goes for. As I was travelling with my female best friend of over 30 years, we chose a room with separate beds, which is harder to find than one would expect. The staff was also incredibly friendly and helpful at any time of day. When we checked in, the desk staff advised us that breakfast and the mini bar were free, and to feel free "to empty it every night and it won't cost a thing". We indulged in the sparkling and still water as well as the lovely variety of local chocolates and other snacks in the mini bar. The hotel's location is VERY convenient, just a few minutes walk from the train station. The breakfast was definitely on the better side of what's expected, with a huge variety and lots of authentic local German food (such as the chunky liverwurst in natural casing). Our room was BIG, luxurious and modern, had excellently effective air conditioning, and was QUIET!!!! We also chose this because the booking site listed hot tubs, swimming pools, saunas, and steam rooms as available amenities. These are actually part of the Meridian Spa Am Michel, which shares the same building as the hotel. It is only free to use for hotel patrons during certain hours, and costs a discounted 20 euros for use at other times. We were surprised to find that the hot tub, saunas, and steam room are all mandatory nude. The swimming pool is the only area in which you can wear a swimsuit if you so choose. Germans do not view the naked human body as something to be ashamed of or hidden ("we're free here" per one of our tour guides). All in all, the Madison hotel was the best hotel say I've ever had, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

It is still a top notch hotel, love the size of the rooms which includes your typical amenities which include a mini fridge, single serve European coffee maker. It also has an electric stove top to cook or heat up your food. Some rooms have balcony for smokers but they all have huge windows letting in a lot of light. Check in and out is a breeze. The hotel has a small bar just behind the front desk. It of course offers your usual drinks, wines and beer of your liking. It always has a nice restaurant on property which offers fresh prepared meals. The rolls are crusty and fresh. Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also have large and small conference rooms offering catered snacks and meals. I really love the fact that there are coffee, cappuccino mains outside of the meeting rooms which helps you stay awake for those less than exciting meetings. I also love the fact that throughout the hotel there are apples that you can grab as a healthy snack. On top of this at the front desk you can get gummy candy by the spoonful. The staff is very professiona and frieny throughout the property. The rooms are kept clean and fresh. Hotel offer on site underground parking. No more than 20 minutes from the airport so this location offers tons of advantages. Don't just take my words for it, come and visit them, you will not be disappointed.
