Personable, knowledgeable, reasonable, cannot say enough good things about Rick. He knows pianos!!

I recently moved to Myrtle Beach from New York and needed to get my piano tuned. I called Rick Eschtruth and he offered to place a damp chaser inside my piano before tuning it. After some research I decided to try it and he came to my house and spent a few hours expertly placing it inside my Yamaha. I could see he has plenty of experience handling and understanding the mechanics inside pianos. He then tuned it and I've never been happier playing music on this piano. I can feel and hear my piano getting the right amount of humidity inside. Every two weeks I fill the damp chaser with water through a tube and It's a lot like when I fill my car with gasoline and all of a sudden it feels like a smooth ride again. I had the very opposite experience of B.K.'s when obtaining services from Eschtruth and Son. I found Mr. Eschtruth to be extremely honest, knowledgeable, reliable and, most importantly, he had a true desire to ensure I was completely satisfied with the completed refurbishment of my 1962 Aerosonic piano. As an added touch, Mr. Eschtruth took every precaution to ensure there would be NO damage to my home....floors, walls and belongings......as he had to remove my piano and work on it at his shop and then return it. While I respect B.K.s opinion, I had a terrific experience with Mr. Eschtruth and would HIGHLY recommend him/his services to anyone, friends and family. Rick is always true to his word, stands behind his work, stands by his quotes, and thoroughly enjoys his career. It is an obvious passion of his. When we've hired him to MOVE pianos, he takes CARE to the extreme, padding everything down, and delivers thee piano in excellent shape. Rip off!! He overcharged me 500.00 on my piano repair at the most that other piano technicians had quoted me, after the work was completed. He even has the nerve to complain about how difficult the regulation work was in hopes I would pay him even more. Go anywhere but Rick Eschtruth. Not even a return call from a message I left him. He says he is a Christian. His integrity and ethic is anything but Christian. read more
