My third daughter just completed her final day at Escuelita and is heading off to kinder. What a bittersweet moment for our family, as we have loved Escuelita since my oldest started as a baby 12 years ago. The teachers have been so caring and capable, the admins so approachable and amazing, and the classrooms so organized and welcoming. Some of the families we've met over the years have become our lifelong friends. A few of my favorite Escuelita memories are: -Dropping off my daughters with messy hair I didn't have time to fix, and picking them up with the most intricate and beautiful braids you've ever seen. - Visiting a Valentine's Day party one year and witnessing the absolute organization and calm during the sharing of Valentines, while one 3-year-old at a time walked around the circle and handed a Valentine to each child's open bag, and the kids sat patiently waiting for their bags to be filled. - Picking my eldest up from her 2-year-old room and her teacher announcing to me that she was now potty trained. (I took no part in this potty training!) - Driving past Escuelita with my older daughters and hearing them reminisce about the tomato soup and grilled cheeses. - Halloween carnivals and Easter egg hunts. - Walking in at pickup to find my daughters singing and dancing along to Mr. Jaime's guitar. We have been so fortunate to spend my daughters' early years at this wonderful school. I have always had peace of mind knowing they were cared for and loved at Escuelita. And now that they have purchased a new location due to the expansion of i35, they will certainly be around for many years to come, and my girls and I can dream about their future children going there :) read more

We're on our third daughter enrolled at Esculita Del Alma. The management is top notch and it trickles down to the staff. Lots of great parents as well for lasting friendships between kids and parents alike. Exceptional education preparing kids for pre-k or kindergarten with dual language offerings. I can't say enough amazing things about this little gem of a Spanish immersion daycare. My son has been there for 3.5 years, and my daughter, who is now school-aged, spent her formative baby years under their care. It feels like a home away from home, with the most loving teachers and a fabulous community. The office staff and teachers are student-centered and grounded. Both of my kids picked up Spanish quickly. It's a no-tech space with no frills, which is something I truly value in a world where everyone is glued to their screens. In contrast to the constant beeping and notifications about photo uploads or overwhelming mundane communication, we receive end-of-the-day paper reports and monthly newsletters, which I appreciate. Communication is handled as needed, and I know my kids are in the best of hands. It feels like more of a home and less of a business. Love it! The absolute best experience for our 2 kids. Escuelita is a true gem. The staff & teachers create a warm community of love and attention. There are no cell phone pics of your kids throughout the day and you sign them in with on a piece of paper vs a phone; personally, I loved this bc it showed that they were more focused on the kids than technology. My children flourished here and we felt at ease with them there. They have safety protocols in place and have solid communication. Both of our children came out with such a strong foundation in Spanish, both linguistically and culturally (exposure to Mexican, Cuban and other Latino countries). read more

Have had three kids go through Escuelita over 9 years. Can't say enough positive things. Kindest, most professional, warm staff. They prepare the most amazing lunch and snacks for our kids. They have prepared all of our kids so well for preK/kinder. The most important thing for me is my level of trust in their care and how much my kids enjoy going everyday. All three of our children have attended Escuelita since they were infants and we truly feel like the staff is a part of our family. Ms. Dina and her directors (Ms. Alma, Mr. Jaime, and Ms. Laura) have created a special environment where kids are loved, have fun, and learn everyday. I don't have the energy to deal with money hungry people. My son got lice they said not from them but that's the only place he was. Then he got a cold that caused allergy complications I told them I was pulling him and they charger for days he wasn't there. Have fun with this Nasty ass place your kids will get sick oh and they had Covid cases and decided kids don't need to wear mask I'm not recommending this place to anyone. read more

We absolutely love Escuelita del Alma - we were recommended here by multiple families who have sent their kids. There has been very low turnover - which we experienced at the first day care we sent our daughter to - and she loves going to school every day. She happily goes straight to her lead teacher Ms. Rachel and understands Spanish beautifully. Yes the facility is old, but it is clean and well kept. Our first day care facility was much newer but had terrible issues with turnover - I would much rather have an older facility with quality staff. Would definitely recommend sending your child to Escuelita. read more

Our family absolutely loves Escuelita del Alma. When my husband and I started to look for preschools a few years ago, it became so clear to us that Escuelita is a family. Both of our boys (now 3 and 20 months) practically beg to leave the house in the morning to get to school. The teachers have all been incredibly professional and communicative. Dina Flores, the school's director, is an incredible leader and I trust her completely. Our 3 year old is practically fluent (and we don't speak Spanish at home.) What can I say? I absolutely love this place. When my husband and I were pregnant we toured Escuelita and I knew then and there this was the right daycare/school for my babies. Fast forward 3 years and add another kid to the mix and we couldn't be happier with that decision. We've had 1-2 kids at Escuelita for over 2 years now. There's quite a wait list (1-2 years) but it's so worth it! Dina and her staff really love what they do and they do it brilliantly. You really get an extended family when your child starts at Escuelita. Dina, the Director, taught for years in AISD and is still very much involved with the politics that effect public education in Austin. She is a big advocate for dual language programs which is why Escuelita is a Spanish emersion school. She's very approachable and has a wealth of knowledge about AISD and children's education in general. The teachers are warm and full of passion for what they do. I'm amazed by them every time I go in there. I can't say enough really. I'm proud to be part of the Escuelita family and jealous that my kids get to go there! With a son headed to third grade and a daughter on her way to kinder, we are just weeks from saying goodbye to our Escuelita family. And this amazing pre-school has indeed been our family. I can't imagine a better second home for my children, a more loving environment, and a more caring group of teachers. As the most incredible bonus, we (the parents) have made lifelong friends. There are much better facilities for dual language daycare. This is an overcrowded, over priced, overrated facility. I currently have my two younger sons in a different program that is far better and the facility FAR surpasses Esquilita. The teachers here are hit or miss. My suggestion look elsewhere. read more

My son has has attended Escuelita for 3 years. I cannot say enough positive things about this wonderful little school. My older sons are 12 and 15. So i have many years of childcare experience under my belt at this point. Turnover rate is a good way to judge the quality of a childcare/preschool facility. I see the same faces at Escuelita day after day, many have been teachers there over 12 years. The meals are home cooked and nutritious, the staff is loving, kind and approachable. I absolutely love this school. The Spanish immersion is just a bonus! read more
