Dr. Lisa and Shane are great. They really care for animals and their business isn't about making money off their clients. I have one very aggressive dog and Dr. Lisa is the only person who can handle him. I have another dog that I take to a different vet and just took him to see her because I wanted a second opinion. After doing some blood work, the staff took the time to explain what all his levels were doing and what I need to be concerned and not concerned about. They made me feel a lot more at ease and I don't feel like they were price gouging me. read more

From my most current visit today and a prior experience, there is no way I can give them more than 1.5 stars at most. Unlike most posts, I'm going to start with the cons as it outweighs the pros. Cons: Even if you make an appointment plan on waiting at least 1.5 to 2 hours to be seen, even if they aren't busy. Also, if you make an appointment, call the day of if you can to remind them. I made an appointment last week for today, and oh my goodness they have no record of me calling, even when I showed them my phone history that I did call them. So I was put on a walk in status, and after about 20 minutes I walked out, knowing full well I'd be there until they closed and then turned away. Front desk staff is hit or miss. Sometimes they're ok, and other times they look at you like you walked in off the street asking to use their staff bathroom. They definitely have their "favorites" who come in and looks like they get the preferred treatment over someone who hasn't been going there for their lifetime. Pros: Umm, do I have to list one? Because off the top of my head I can't find any. Oh wait, there is one....their located in Canon City. That is all. Recommended? Only if you know people who know people, and if you've been living in Canon for all your life. Otherwise I'd skip them and try to find another place instead. read more

I have been once and had a pretty unpleasant experience. I took my cat in (on my lunch break) to get her shots so I could get a voucher to spay her in a couple weeks. This was a planned visit after a phone conversation with staff explaining what I had to do to get a voucher. I was 5 minutes early to my appointment and wasn't acknowledged by staff for 10 minutes. Then I waited in the lobby for 30 more minutes before they took us back to a room. After the 1 minute appointment for the shots, I went back to the front desk to buy the voucher and schedule her spay appointment and the vet tech was SO annoyed and completely put out because I guess it was a total surprise that that was my intention even though I had made the appointment for that purpose 2 days earlier. I was clearly the lowest level of trash for trying to utilize THEIR advertised discount. She said this with a giant wad of chew in her mouth and sticking all over her teeth, btw. It was unprofessional and disgusting. I was encouraged by friends to call and speak with the owner, which I did. She said that she should never have agreed to the voucher program and her staff was stressed and must be having a bad day. And apparently giant gobs of chew in the mouths of staff who interact with customers is totally okay. I chose not to utilize the voucher plan and will NEVER go back to this establishment. read more

Living in this town my whole life, I have used many different vets and have found Dr. Lisa to be one of the most genuine vets in town. She is definitely not in it for the money. She does so much for the community "pro Bono". They are the only clinic I know who will pull their 5th wheel up and stay at the clinic when they have critical animals. Their hard work is so often over looked and their prices are by far the lowest around. I currently have two dogs with them and two dogs with another vet. I've had emergency calls with both recently for foxtails in our dogs throat, and Dr. Lisa was by far the most reasonable. I can't say enough about her and her clinic! read more

I called about a month ago to get some dental work done on my small dog. They made me two appointments, one around the 15th of Jan to do a pre-check and one on the 23rd to get the teeth cleaned, pulled, etc. A day before the first appointment, a lady called to say that the vet had the flu and asked if they could change that first appt. to the 22nd. I showed up for the first appointment on the 22nd and was told they couldn't find anything regarding me having any appointment. The vet was not at work but they claimed they could talk to her that afternoon and would call me but that it was sure my dog would get its dental work the next A.M. I went home and waited for the phone call. I left a msg on their phone but never received any call from them. Didn't see any need to take my dog in the next A.M. I'll look for an "organized" vet in town. read more

I have used this veterinary clinic for a number of years, and although sometimes it's a long time in between appointments for various members of my 4 legged family, I have never had a poor experience yet. As far as I am concerned this clinic does an excellent job, and I have never, ever been passed over for so called "favorites. I give them 5 stars and think they do a great job! read more

I took my pet here for after care when he got out of the emergency clinic. the emergency clinic called and let them know we were coming and so we did. we went to the clinic waited 30+ mins to even be greeted by the front desk (even though we were standing in front of it). they finally greeted us took my pet and told us to have a good day. didnt even let us know what a approx. cost would be or what they would be doing for treatment. after 3 days of my pet staying in their clinic, he was still not even seen by the vet. considering this place was given records of everything the emerency clinic had and the video xrays and print outs they still called us and asked where they should be looking on the xrays for his gall stones (which we had no idea where they would be). another issue we had is the clinic is so small that it sounds like a pound (even the emerency clinic was not this loud). we were recommended this place and i would never go back. read more

We have been taking out animals there almost as long as they have been in our area and have NO plans on changing. We have always been treated well and so have our critters. As for the lady that had to wait, well that can be irritating but they just may have had a emergency, just asying. read more

My cat had been vomiting frequently for an entire day, so I called Eskridge to see if I could get him in. I was told on the phone that they were booked solid, but that I could drop him off, and they would get to him between appointments. I dropped him off at 9:00 that morning, and was told they would call me that afternoon, to let me know if I could pick him up. Six hours later, after not hearing from them, I called to get a status report. Whoever answered the phone told me that they were "looking at him now", and put me on hold. After a few minutes, she came back on the line, and said I could pick him up in 45 minutes. When I arrived, a tech brought him out in his carrier, told me how much I owed for the visit, and handed me a sheet stating what injections he had been given. After I paid, she and another female behind the desk completely ignored me. I asked if they had been concerned that the cat had contracted Giardia, or Distemper. They both looked at me as though I was speaking in a foreign language. The tech who brought him out said that they were not concerned with either of those conditions, and gave no further information. I took my cat home, and observed him to be in a zombie-like state. He went under my bed, and only comes out to drink a little water. He hasn't eaten anything all day. When he does come out, he staggers at first until he seems to get his footing. I will probably have to take him to a vet, but it sure as heck won't be Eskridge. read more

There has been several occasions where I have brought my friends pet to this clinic. I would never bring my own animals there, I have too much respect for my animals! I have called the emergency number late at night when something very bad things have happened to my friends animals. They never answer their emergency number and by time they do get back to you it's 3pm the next day. Her staff always says she doesn't always get her messages but I have also called shane's number and left messages and multiple messages through out the night with no response! If she doesn't get her messages then how do they know to call me back at 3pm? The most recent visit to Eskridge vet was to get a dog nuetered. Well they also cleaned the dogs teeth free of charge (no complaint there) a few days later we had to take the dog back because we thought he was sick. He wasnt eating and acting like he was in a lot of pain. Well come to find out they had pulled a bunch of his teeth and never told us or the owner of the animal. (us being the ones who dropped him off and picked him up) Another time a few months earlier, my friends dog had gotten really sick. Also at night, so the emergency number was pointless yet again, Finally in the morning when the vet opened they came and picked the dog up from my friends (kudos to them) well later in the day it came out that the dogs kidneys failed and the dog would have to be put to sleep. So we take my friend down to say goodbye to her dog. we had to go through the back door because she is in a wheelchair. When we went in the door Lisa was there doing an operation on a cat while eating Taco Bell! please correct me if I am wrong but isn't any operation supposed to be sterile to avoid infection?!?!?! I think they need to evaluate how they are doing business and need to make some choices. read more
