When we moved from MS to FL 18 months ago, finding a new dance home for our 3 daughters was a priority. We spent 8 years at our previous studio and were nervous about starting over. We truly loved our first dance home, but didn't realize how much better it could actually be until we joined Esprit in June 2022. Even after 8 years, our former studio owner did not know my daughters' names, and they were not "allowed" to take classes with her. At Esprit, Sonya takes the time to get to know her dancers, their strengths and weaknesses, meets them where they are, and then provides the instruction they need to improve. The amount of growth I have seen in my daughters' skills in the last 18 months is truly amazing. A few things I love about this studio and Sonya, the studio owner--she celebrates diversity and inclusion of all sizes, shapes, and colors. It is beautiful. She teaches from a growth mindset and teaches her dancers how to have a growth mindset. She teaches the girls how to take care of their bodies with her words and actions with the focus on strength and conditioning and fueling their bodies with good food. As the studio owner, she actually teaches the classes and does not limit which students can have access to her. Communication is top tier--there are weekly newsletters, an app, parent chats, etc. The studio encourages a family and team atmosphere--there are no "dance moms" here and all the girls are so supportive of each other. In an area where there are so many options, we are beyond pleased with our choice! Choosing Esprit actually made the transition to a new state so much easier for my children--they immediately had a place where they could belong. read more

Where do I even begin? My daughter has been a student at this studio for nearly a decade and I cannot imagine our lives without it. What started as a curious little girl walking through the doors has turned into a passionate, disciplined, and confident young dancer -- and so much of that credit goes to the incredible staff here. The teachers genuinely care about every single student. They push them to be their best while making sure dance remains something they love. The competition program is top notch and the level of preparation and dedication from the staff is unmatched. My daughter has grown not just as a dancer but as a person because of this studio. Something that truly sets this studio apart is their commitment to maintaining a positive and healthy environment. They work hard to keep the atmosphere uplifting and are not afraid to address and remove toxicity when it arises -- which makes a world of difference for both the students and the dance families. We have been a part of Esprit Performing Arts for the past three years, starting with my 8-year-old daughter who joined the studio at the age of 5, and my youngest daughter, who started last year at the age of 3. Poor communication. Deceitful behavior to "protect their studio". Vindictive, toxic studio. Non existent conflict resolution. Ownership/leadership needs a refresher in compassion and conflict resolution as they Juno straight to end game rather than communicating and understanding. read more
