The stylist gave me good hair advice and suggested different styles and variations I could do with my hair. My hair wash was very thorough and my hair definitely felt a lot cleaner and in better condition when I left. All the staff were very friendly. I didn't have to wait for my stylist to be ready which I have done in the past at previous hairdressers. Definitely recommend.

A group of top-notch stylists do fabby things with hair (even if I do like mine to remain quite boring - shows they listen to you too, I suppose). Mark is a character and a half, also check out Jay (great on curls according to friends), and Geo for his precision cuts. Prices are at the high-end for a cut, at least £60-80 (Jan 2008). Colouring similar to any other decent salon. You can also get your nails done as they cut your hair, if you are so inclined! And finally, they did my wedding hair. It was beautiful and it was very cheap, especially as they travelled to me in order to do it.

I found Headmasters through yelp and they looked to have good reviews. I didn't need anything fancy, so I was OK with having anyone at a decent salon cut my hair. I arrived right when they opened on a Sunday in hopes that no one booked an appointment first thing in the morning. When I arrived, I asked the young man working there if they accepted walk-ins - yes; is anyone available now? - no; Ok, is there any availability later today? - maybe; Do you know around what time maybe? - 3pm, but I'm not sure; Alright, should I just come back after 3 or can I book something now? - I don't know, they'll probably be all booked by then. At this point I just walked away, they obviously didn't want my business. I understand I'm a walk-in so can't get preferential treatment over their customers with an appointment, and I get that I have no idea of how busy they are. But he already told me there might be an opening after a certain time and didn't bother to check who was free, thus not allowing my any services. This is at 9am, he literally just opened the doors to the shop, and no other customers were there. If you're fully booked, just say you're fully booked. I can understand that. Again, I can't attest to how they do hair as I wasn't even given the opportunity to even get my foot through the door. One star for the bad service by the front desk. I know this doesn't change much for their regular customers, but hopefully new customers can bring their business some where they are wanted.

So laid back, he was sitting across the street in a doorway having a fag while I was getting my hair washed. I was a little bemused and terrified through the whole experience. I was never entirely sure that he hadn't spent his career to this date in a poodle parlour. He ruffled my hair a lot, excessively so, it was quite funny actually. He spent an awful long time gazing at me, sniping away and staring at me. No-one this good looking has ever looked at me this intensely. He cut and cut and cut, then got out a razor. No one has ever used a razor on my hair in my entire life! This haircut is precise! F#@k it's short! I'm not sure how he ever thinks I will style it. Seriously he might be the worst hairdresser in the world or the best, am too dazzled to decide. Headmasters lose a star because he ghd'd my hair instead of blow drying it straight, which is the laziest thing to do. A good hairdresses can dry it poker straight. I was a regular here for a while and was always happy with the service I received. My hairdresser at the time couldn't understand me completely well (speaking in a fast Glaswegian accent doesn't help) but she was always friendly and bright. It's probably best to bring pictures with you but B:ZAR also have a selection of great Japanese and Western fashion magazines to look through for your next hair inspiration. I am definitely going to go back at some point. The price is really reasonable and you even get a Shiatsu head and shoulder massage which is a really nice bonus. If you're looking for something a little different, B:ZAR is worth a visit.

Like short-angled bob or something like that. She seemed to have a bunch of hair cuts memorised in her head but had trouble letting her creative side take over. But once again, I probably should go to a more experienced salon and hair stylist if I'm expecting a true hair style. I was booked in with a Russian gent called Edward. I have extremely dry, curly hair. Most stylists want to chop inches off and layers in to my hair in a bid to make it more manageable. Not Edward. He recognised that my hair is extremely thick and that layers would make it more unmanageable. He knew that cutting 5 inches off wouldn't make it less dry than it already is. He simply did what was best, which was just cut an inch off. After I get my hair washed at salons, it normally takes 2/3 stylists no joke to brush the knots out. No jokes. Not with Edward. He had it brushed out and trimmed in the space of 30 mins, and even though I didn't request a blow dry, he gave me one anyway and didn't charge. Can't recommend this place enough, I've been to a lot of the top salons in London and this place definitely did the best job of cutting my hair.

What they offer is simple: haircuts at very affordable prices. I wanted a trim (to get rid of my split ends) and a side fringe. Simple. I did get what I wanted, however, I felt my hairdresser could have put more effort in to washing my hair and technique into layering it. I cannot tell if that is how they were trained or weather my girl was new or just tired. I felt I was in and out in 15 mins. The Salon chain is that it does not, and will not take appointments. Everything is done via walk-in only.
