Refreshing watermelon water was offered immediately. A relaxing sail brought us to a spot for a guided snorkel where we saw huge starfish. Finally we anchored near a beautiful sandbar for lunch of fruit, delicious chicken tacos and endless margaritas and rum punch and plenty of time for swimming with stingrays in waist deep water. All in all such a memorable experience for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

3hr night club with 15mins of sword battle sold as a Pirate Battle cruise. AVOID…read more This is NOT Medieval Times on a boat. It is literally a loud 3hr night club with a forced humor comedy show. Only at the last third of the trip do we have a pirate battle. First, i want to say the performers did their best to entertain. I want to commend them for putting in the effort (hence the 2nd star), but this cruise fails miserably to give you an entertaining pirate show with action and story while you eat. You depart at 6:30pm and from departure to 8pm, you listen to the captain (Jack Sparrow in our case) try to run a comedy show involving audience participation, games, karaoke, and music and dancing... A LOT of music and dancing. With extremely loud club music and strobe lights. At 8pm, you finally eat. The food is so-so. The surf & turf is a lobster tail with a large cut of carne asada, not fillet mignon, not ribeye or NY steak. Carne asada. All this for $120 USD/person. Then comes the ship battle which is the main event sword fight among various characters. It lasts for about 15-20mins. It's good, but then more loud night club music as you make your way back to the dock and arrive at 10pm. CONCLUSION: This is a cruise for young people and/or for those who LOVE clubs. I am 45 and have always hated the loud cacophony of clubs. I tried my best to get to quieter areas of the ship, which is hard because the ship is so small and there are a lot of people all over. Many dancing, some hunched over drunk with vomit on the floor (they serve unlimited alcohol up until a certain hour). This is NOT the place i wanted to take my kids at all. IMPROVEMENTS: I would have liked this cruise more if it was more like Medieval Times where there is an actual story told from start to end, and you get scenes with action/battles acted out during the cruise. I feel bad for the performers. They are doing their best, but there just isn't any cohesion presented in the show that interests anyone who doesn't like dance clubs.

Then, on the day of our reservation, the guys decided they wanted to join us too - suddenly we were a group of 21! La Sirena graciously accommodated all of us without missing a beat. I had pre-ordered appetizers- delicious roasted Cheese Saganaki, Fried Calamari, Tirokafteri, Tzatziki + 4 or 5 more, including mac and cheese. Every one of them was a hit! I was covering for the group, and from there the staff took everyone's individual drink and additional food orders and even helped us manage separate checks. With a group that large, that alone is impressive! The service was fabulous, the food was excellent, the sunset atmosphere was beautiful, and the live band was fantastic. We had such a fun night. But it didn't stop there. A few days later, we chartered a fishing boat and came back with mahi-mahi, amberjack, and porgy. We brought our catch to La Sirena, and they prepared it for us - grilled and fried - and served it with fries and an absolutely fantastic salad for only $15 per person! It was delicious and an incredible value. My picture does not do it justice - it was excellent! They even helped package all of our leftover fish into separate containers so we could take it back to our hotel and share it with members of our group who hadn't gone fishing. And THEN there was the margarita glass! We loved La Sirena so much that we bought one of their beautiful handmade margarita glasses to bring home. Sadly, despite our best efforts, it was completely crushed during our trip home. I reached out to Anthony, and he was wonderful. He worked with me to arrange for a replacement glass to be shipped safely to us with insurance. That level of customer service -especially after we'd already returned home -says so much about this restaurant and the people who work there. From accommodating our last-minute group of 21, to the wonderful service and live music, to preparing our freshly caught fish, to helping replace our treasured margarita glass, La Sirena truly went above and beyond for us again and again. We can't say enough good things about this place. If you're visiting Puerto Morelos, do yourself a favor and go to La Sirena. Great food, wonderful people, fantastic atmosphere, and some of the best service we experienced during our entire trip. Thank you, La Sirena and Anthony, for helping make our trip so memorable.
