There are no public restrooms here, and I believe you have to ask for a key or bribe the librarian. Just kidding!! I enjoyed seeing the quilts hanging from the wall, and also made some small talk with some of the locals here. This library is much nicer than my neighborhood library in DIA, but reading is reading, right? Don't matter where you go as long as you can get the same access to literature.

There's a cozy gas fireplace in the public seating area for the cold winters. There's tables to enjoy the free WiFi. The two times we were there the staff was having a story time for little ones and an after school program for older children. While we were in Grand Lakes Verizon's data network was down for two days. This was a wonderful spot to catch up on emails and the news. I noticed a coffeemaker with pods for patrons. I'm a teacher, so I'm very familiar with these exact printers and know how to clear a paper jam. However, I also understand that many businesses prefer employees to handle jams themselves to avoid damage, so I went to the front desk and politely said, "Hey, I just jammed the printer. Could someone help me?" The employee's response was simply, "So?" I honestly just stared at her because I couldn't believe it. I said, "I can unjam it, I guess," and she replied, "No, no." I then asked what would happen to my print job since it stopped in the middle of printing. I had already loaded $20 onto my printing card because I was printing a large number of documents. I wasn't worried about a few cents--I just wanted to know if the print job would resume or if I would have to send everything through again and be charged twice. Instead of answering my question, she laughed and said, "We'll refund your pennies." The issue was never about the money. It was about getting a simple question answered and being treated with basic respect. Her comment was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. To make matters even more frustrating, it took nearly 40 minutes before I was able to finish printing my documents. As someone who has worked with these same printers for years in a school setting, I know a typical paper jam can usually be cleared and the printer back up and running in just a few minutes. Waiting that long wouldn't have bothered me nearly as much if someone had communicated what was going on or treated me with courtesy. I understand that machines malfunction. What I don't understand is treating patrons with sarcasm and dismissiveness when they're simply asking for help. Customer service costs nothing, and unfortunately this experience was one of the rudest I've had at a library.

The library was so inviting and I could hear the sound of happy children on a Tuesday morning event while browsing the books on sale. I did not have cash or credit card so did not leave with any books, but know I can come back before 7 pm on a weekday! The bathrooms were super clean and the whole place looked modern. It was built in 2008 but looks much newer and well-kept. The librarian suggested I go upstairs and this was the real treat. I must have looked like I wanted something, so the upstairs librarian helped me find a biography on Oppenheimer as their book of Prometheus Unbound was checked out, which was the book the recent movie was based which I watched on my plane ride yesterday. I saw some comfy seats by the window with amazing views of the river, so I read in peace and quiet. I plan to come back each day to read another chapter! It was such an inviting space and a hub of community activities. If I lived here, I would come daily. Amazing hours-they open at 8 am on weekdays! In the time I was there I saw so many ways that this library is breathing life into their community: librarians on a first name basis with the guests, free pads in the women's restroom, snacks for kids getting out of school, used books for sale, etc! My favorite part? The young man in glasses with curly hair who got me signed up for my library card. He introduced me to ALL the amazing benefits of being a library cardholder and ended it with a fist bump! Just precious and is going to be a highlight of my week for sure. The building itself is huge, thoughtfully organized, and full of natural light, which makes it a great place to spend a few hours exploring. There are so many different ways to enjoy the space. You can grab a book and settle into one of the cozy reading areas, reserve a study room, or stop by the coffee shop. There's also a fantastic kid-friendly area and even fish tanks that add to the calm, relaxing atmosphere. One of my favorite parts is the location right along Boulder Creek. You can step outside and walk the path, enjoy the scenery, and then come back inside to read or work. It feels like the perfect mix of nature, community, and learning. The library also hosts events throughout the year, so there's always something going on. Whether you're visiting Boulder or you live nearby, it's absolutely worth a stop. Great vibes all around.

The small one is like a small jungle gym one but the big one, in the junior room, is a proper curved one that even i took a ride on. The toddler got to run around and flip through books while the baby crawled around and (tried to) build with blocks.
