I didn't get to hang glide the first time I went to Brazil so had to be sure to fit it in this go…read morearound. I reached out to Paulo on Whatsapp for more information ahead of the trip and he was very responsive and detailed with his answers - one of the main reasons why I chose to go with Just Fly Rio. We booked for the morning the day after we arrived in Rio and he requested that we check with him the morning of to make sure that the weather conditions were good for flying. He also offered to have a car transport us to the flight location (at an extra cost, of course), which was convenient. We got the green light the next morning and completely lucked out because the rest of the time I was there, the weather was pretty crappy. We ended up having to take an Uber though because his driver called out sick last minute and Paulo ended up apologizing profusely for the inconvenience. Once we got to the office and met up with Paulo, we also met Marcos, who was the second flight instructor and the one I flew with. We had to fill out our info online and then pay the registration fee - I thought they rushed us a bit through this part but understood why a little later. Upon arriving at the launch site, we realized we were the first ones there and the reason for the rush was so that we can fly as soon as possible and not have to wait behind others and weather conditions can be fickle. They got us suited and set to go and we went through a couple of trial runs - "don't look down and keep running." The flight was amazing! I think I spent about 8 minutes in the air and got a bird's eye view of the favelas and the beach. Definitely did not regret flying back to Rio for a weekend! After the flight, you have the option to purchase your GoPro footage at an extra cost, which I did for the memories. All in all, great experience!
