I really wanted a new look in our home but was not sure where to start. Tried and tried and then hired a designer who really made a huge difference for our family. She listened which told me she cared. After about 3 weeks of collaborations Catherine Oxenham Kennedy rocked my world like never before. I LOVE everything she picked out - like literally right down to the last stitch. My order is in and I cannot wait util it arrives. Ethan Allen seems like it was a great choice. They have a beautiful showroom and even though I used a designer from outside of their store they also have some inside. Probably not a lot like my designer but very nice and very welcoming. 5/10/2021 UPDATE: Lackluster Store "management" and blame game continues. My wife who is much more diplomatic than me spoke with the store "manager", and she intimated that "if we hadn't purchased the cheaper line of Ethan Allen furniture, we wouldn't have these cushion problems"....blaming the customer is an effective management style they must teach at Ethan Allen, I guess. Furniture Issue never resolved..... I implore anyone considering Ethan Allen to reconsider. I have purchased from Ethan Allen stores around the country. The service has always been stellar. This is a high end product and great customer service is expected. At the Mount Pleasant location, I was given Melinda as a Designer. She was great, came out to my home and then I purchased a sofa and an area rug. That is where the "great" ended. The rug was to be delivered 3 months from the purchase date in mid-January and the sofa in March 2022. I should not have had to wait another month for delivery and continuing emailing and calling to get my rug delivered, but that is exactly what happened. Melinda dropped the ball. So not having heard back by Jan 21st, I called. Melinda said the rug was in and she would contact delivery. She should have called me the day it was in. Since then Feb 2nd I have not heard a word even after emailing her 3 times and calling the store 3 times when she was on the floor and never got a call back. Today I called and demanded someone take my payment and set up delivery or I would be talking to the manager tomorrow. So the Operations manager who answered the phone, and who had not followed through days before either, had to do that instead of the Designer who dropped me after she made the sale. I had to actually demand the person take my payment and follow through...seriously? If you buy from this store, ask for the top Designer so you get the customer service you deserve! read more

I do not recommend working with Ethan Allen and specifically their Mount Pleasant, SC store location and management team. We have worked with this location for 1 year, purchasing 5 pieces of furniture and have spent $12,000+ to date. The fabric on my sofas is pilling after just 6 months, each piece of furniture was delivered later than specified (all delivered at 12-14 week lead time instead of the quoted 6-8 week lead time) and the dining bench was delivered about 4" shorter than specified on the website and all of our paperwork. Therefore, the dining bench doesn't fit with our existing dining table and needs to be returned. After several phone calls to corporate and store management, I was offered to return the bench with a 40% restocking fee (paying Ethan Allen $400) now 15 weeks/4 months after purchasing. See attached images, and I hope this post helps others to shop elsewhere. We have had great experiences with product and deliveries from local companies like Celadon and Steven Shell and national brands like Crate & Barrel, Serena & Lily, Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware. read more

The folks at Ethan Allen in Mount Pleasant were awesome to work with. Our designer, Melinda Dobrosky, was absolutely great too. The delivery folks were also fantastic. We are thrilled and totally satisfied with our new furniture. We worked first with Pottery Barn. What a train wreck those clowns are. I will never work with or purchase anything from Pottery Barn again. I highly recommend buying your furniture and accessories from Ethan Allen in Mount Pleasant. read more

The one star reviews I read here couldn't be farther from our experience at Ethan Allen in Mt. Pleasant or with Melinda. My husband and I met Melinda several months ago on our initial visit to the store. Melinda was very helpful although we ended up not purchasing anything. We returned today to look for furniture for a different room in our home and Melinda helped us again. What a great experience. She really helped us get creative and find a look that is different than we had in mind, and we love it. Her creativity and knowledge of their products and fabrics enabled us to choose the perfect solution for us. We also got to observe her working with another set of clients and she was equally attentive and thoughtful. I highly recommend her. read more

We ordered a leather chair an ottoman from Ethan Allen in Mount Pleasant, SC in July 2014. The Estimated Ship Date on my invoice is September 7, but our associate suggested that delivery is usually much sooner than the 6-8 weeks they state. September 7 has come and gone. The store gave us a date in late September, which has come and gone. I just talked to the store again, and they say the chair will not be ready now until mid October. And she ended the call with "Is that OK?". NO IT"S NOT. You charge over $3,000 for a chair, you ought to live up to your word and deliver the thing when you say you will. We also bought some office furniture off the floor. The delivery men were professional and very careful and did a fantastic job. Our only complaint is that there were dead cockroaches inside one of the drawers. At least they were dead... Our associate was very helpful and pleasant pre purchase, and has been very professional since, she is the reason this is not a one star review. read more

Not happy with this store. Purchased a dining table in September with expected delivery in November. Was not happy with two-month wait but, even worse, now told delivery won't be until mid-January. 4 months to deliver is unacceptable. Will not purchase from this store ever again. read more

Beware of this company. I wanted a new sofa, a sale was offered. I saw a sofa I liked. The Salesman said it was a custom order not picked up. I bought it on Dec. 27, 2016. It wasn't delivered until Jan 11, 2017. In the meantime, I decided to order a matching chair online. I ordered the color the salesman gave me. It was delivered in February 14, 2017. It did not match. I called the store. The manager said there was nothing she could do. The material for the sofa I bought was discontinued. I tried to give back the chair. Ethan Allen suggested I recover the sofa to match the chair and I could order it from Ethan Allen. I thought they were at fault so I called corporate and asked for a VP. I was contacted by the Regional Manager who said Ethan Allen would pay for half of the material to recover. I agreed. I ordered the fabric and contacted a design company. The upholsterer picked up the sofa. She began to tear down the sofa to prepare for recovering. It was GLUED together with laminated wood. She could not even take the buttons off. they were not tied but glued! She tried for weeks but could not tear the sofa down to recover but while trying trashed the sofa. I called corporate again and demanded a VP. Shaun called me and said Ethan Allen furniture is not made to recover but to use and buy another when needed. I said Ethan Allen told me to recover and even paid for half of the fabric! He said they shouldn't have told me that. After much discussion, he offered to pay for all the material I ordered from Ethan Allen. He then said he wold give me 40%. Off ordering a new sofa to match the chair. I think I should be given my money back and get a new sofa for the reason they told me to do what I did. And the salesman lied to me about the color of the fabric for the chair. they said they don't know when a fabric will be discontinued until the day it is. Shaun the VP refused to do anything else. Total cost of the SALE PRICE sofa at Ethan Allen,, $3,200.00 for original purchase of sofa on Dec 2, 2016. Fabric $350.00. $1,000.00 to design shop to reupholster. New sofa $2,700.00. So my sale sofa cost me, minus the $350.00 for other half of fabric Ethan Allen refunded, "drumroll" $6,900.00 plus tax. Now, June 20, 2017 I still have no sofa. EA is taking sweet time!! read more

The end product furniture is very nice but it is not worth the trouble of dealing with the store personnel. Terrie Webster was the "designer" who took our order. After the order was placed we received a very nice card from her promising to provide us regular weekly updates on our furniture. She never initiated a single call to us over the next 14+ weeks until our chairs arrived. In the interim we had to call and were given recycled information and vague excuses. Her store manager made nothing but excuses for Terrie's poor customer service. When you order, they explain their convoluted delivery policy only partially. They fail to tell you that their delivery truck comes to the Charleston area only once per week, and if you are not available on the exact day they offer, you are pushed back to the following week. Further, with respect to the order, we were told that furniture typically arrives 6-12 weeks after the order was placed. We balked at ordering because of the long lead time, only to have Terrie assure us that it would most likely take only 6 to 8. Again, the chairs took 14+ weeks with no coherent explanation for the delay. Work with this store at your peril. read more

Nice store with a friendly staff. Ordered several items and the quality has been great. We really "use " our home and the upholstered pieces have held up well. Delivery time frame was what I was told and earlier than the 12 weeks I expected. Guys delivering my pieces were on time and very careful moving things into my home. Good experience and I will shop there again in the future. read more
