I had never heard of Homesense when I recently relocated here. HomeGoods yes, Homesense no. Then I read an article how they focused more on furniture, carpets and outdoor furniture. Since I needed two chairs for an area of one of my porches I decided to check it out. The article said that you more or less needed to stalk them because when the shipment of outdoor furniture arrives, they usually sell out quickly. So that's what I did. I got exactly what I was looking for in the space and honestly wish I had waited to buy some other items that were significantly pricier.Live and learn. I will say that I was not the only one stalking them. I actually had to sit in one of the chairs to keep someone else from buying them. They also had a small matching table in the set to complete it. The brand was Brooks Brothers who I am fairly positive never sold outdoor furniture. lol. They also had other brand names. Picked up some kitchen and bathroom items as well. I will note that some days it is fully stocked with a million options and others it is practically empty. I can be patient when it comes to getting a good deal so I just wait for a new shipment. I found the employees to be quite helpful and if you see a damaged item you think you can repair, they will find a manager that you can dicker with. Gotta love that! read more

Homesense - Fantastic addition to Charleston home furnishings market. - Furniture Stores Near Me - Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

We were heading into a nearby store and decided to check out Homesense just for fun. It's very similar to HomeGoods & Marshalls. Some of the same exact products, also. It's ok overall. Nice variety of random things you don't need, but end up buying anyway. The staff was ok, the store was busy & a little cluttered, but that is to be expected. Nothing amazing, but nothing bad. You certainly have plenty to look at! read more

I visited Homesense for the first time and found my shopping experience and the customer service to be just meh. The store is large, but it was cluttered and somewhat messy during my visit, which made it harder to browse. I was disappointed to see several pieces of furniture with visible stains or wear, which did not match my expectations going in. While the selection was broad and there were some interesting items, the presentation and condition of items made the experience just ok. I didn't purchase anything and am unsure if I will be back. read more

I went to the store the very first week they were open. They were extremely rude snobby . I will not be going back !

I would not recommend this store bc they PROFILED / SOCIALLY SHAMED me in front of my 2 small children. We went in for their grand opening and I ended up spending about $500 on several large wall art pictures and other pieces for my home. It was very busy that day and they had a "system" of putting large pictures/wall art outside when you checked out at the register so you could pick it up with a matching ticket they gave you, on the way out- even though I told him I preferred not to do it that way. after checking out, I walked outside and verified all of my purchases with my receipt and my ticket and they were supposedly put in an area of "verified purchases."I turn around to go back in to get a cart to take everything to my car and I start putting things in my cart and all of a sudden a large intimidating "bouncer type man" with NO STORE UNIFORM walks up to me insinuating that I am stealing these items- and won't let me finish putting them in my cart- you can only imagine how uncomfortable my children were. When I tell him I had already shown my receipt and my tickets and that these are my items he proceeded to call the store manager and several other employees came to over to circle me / box myself and my children in and start insinuating I was stealing. You could only imagine the level of anxiety we all felt . The employee I had originally shown my receipt and tickets to only moments prior was nowhere to be found. After about 5minutes of hounding me and questioning me for "theft management" this employee came out and verified my purchases and the proof I had given him. He was appalled at the way they had treated me and so was I. after fighting back anxiety attack, calming down my children and walking out to my car with my items, an employee from the store came out to apologize. She was not a manager, she was not anyone I had spoken to. She was just a woman helping people return their carts at the front door who saw wha happened. She said she saw how I was treated and she felt terrible- and it wasn't the first time . She said as a black woman she felt the way I was treated was similar to how she has felt at times in her life - profiled and targeted. I am not a black woman but I was not dressed "fancy" like the rest of the shoppers in the store. Truth be told I had just left the gym and was popping over to Trader Joe's with my children and this place was right next door. The employee said it was a clear case of PROFILING/ CLASSISM/ SOCIAL SHAMING. I thanked her very much for her honesty and validation. These people at the store are DISGUSTING and I will never go to the store or any of its sister stores ever ever again. This includes HOMEGOODS , TJ MAX and MARSHALLS . read more
