Ben & Erin photographed my engagement session in Scottsdale, AZ. Then they photographed our wedding weekend in Lake Como, Italy. Every photo they took from our trip in Italy is my most prized possession! It was like having friends photograph the first most important day of my life. My pictures are emotional, sentimental, and vibrant. While I was living in the moment at my wedding, they were documenting moments I didn't even see happening. Today, I cherish the variety of pictures they captured of my Mom and me at my wedding, her happiest of times and now, all I have left to remember her. She loved Ben & Erin because they are not just friendly people, they are intelligent, fun to be around, adventurous and kind hearted people. My fiance specified that we would be in Charleston for an entire week so if something happened weather or business wise, we could push the engagement out to another day. Todd texted him all the way up until the time we got to the park and said everything was ready to go but NOOO... It was not. My fiance proposed, everything was great until we turned around to see Todd rolling around in the grass using his PHONE to capture our engagement... When we went up to talk to him, he said (laughing of course), "Hey man, I don't know what happened, my camera malfunctioned but I got these really sick pics on my phone"... Which were blurry and terrible. He then asked to use our camera that my fiance brought to "re-enact" our engagement which happened about 7 different times because he couldn't get the right lighting... Later he confessed that he actually just forgot his camera battery but didn't want to turn around and drive home or reschedule to another day... He took what was supposed to be such a wonderful moment and ruined it with his lack of professionalism.

We were visiting Charleston for the weekend, so Lindsey helped me plan every detail down to a location in the heart of the city at the perfect time of day. She is personable and so easy to work with. We emailed, texted and jumped on the phone to discuss logistics over the two months leading up to the proposal. During the session, she suggested different poses and locations and never once made us feel rushed. She even made a couple restaurant suggestions for us as we parted ways. Lindsey has a great eye, and we are blown away with everything. My fiancee is so excited - not only that I had the wherewithal to plan this without her knowing a single detail, but also that I selected an awesome photographer. Lindsey has given us a very special way to remember this moment, and we can't thank her enough!

I wanted to provide an update so there is no confusion to consumers. I take all of my Yelp reviews…read morevery seriously, whether they are positive or negative. Dates are very important when reading this review. The photos were taken on March 15th and were not delivered until March 29th. The following are 3 extracts copied from Ms. Becker's contract and explanations as to how Ms. Becker violated each of them. The contract with Sam Shot the Bride states in the Copyright Law & Model Release paragraph, "The Photographer grants the Client's permission to make copies of the images under the following conditions. The images taken by the Photographer are for personal use by the Client and their friends and relatives." This statement is very clear. It refers to the images TAKEN. We were never allowed to even view any of the other photos beyond the 27 Ms. Becker selected. My wife and I emailed with Ms. Becker repeatedly in an attempt to get her to honor her contract, but she refused. On April 4th, my wife attempted to schedule a call with Ms. Becker at her convenience, but she refused. Today is only June 4th, still not even 3 months after the session, as she claims, and barely over 2 months after the photos were delivered. The contract states in the Re-shoots/Refunds paragraph, "The $250.00 session fee is not refundable a week from when the images have been delivered." We expressed concerns with the photos on April 3rd (and many days thereafter), which is only 5 days later and actually only 3 business days later. We did not reach out almost 2 weeks later, as she claims. The contract states in the Archive of Session Images paragraph, "After six (6) months, all images will be purged from the Photographer's hard-drive, except as needed for promotional purposes, to be determined by photographer at photographer's sole discretion." Ms. Becker's response above clearly indicates she has already deleted all of our photos, well before the contractual obligation of six (6) months. The only person that needs to reread her contract is Ms. Becker herself. As Ms. Becker stated, she did attempt to seek support from the local police after my original Yelp post. She tried to claim harassment, slander and defamation. The police department have a complete copy of our email dialogue as well as this post and have informed Ms. Becker there is nothing slanderous, hostile, threatening, or harassing in anything I have stated. This is a completely honest post about my experience with her service. The police delivered her Trespass Notice to me and shared with me that anyone can issue a Trespass Notice to anyone, without any reasoning. I reciprocated simply because Ms. Becker has not demonstrated clear understanding of the law and anyone who does not understand the law may have lawless tendencies. Despite this education from the local police, and without any sound professional response, Ms. Becker continues to make public statements both here and in other forums that my family and I have harassed her, threatened her, and made slanderous comments about her. I have not made one false statement about my experience and have never made any comments about Ms. Becker personally. Regardless, she continues to attempt to distract readers from the real issues by attempting to tarnish my personal reputation. I have stated the facts, and only the facts. In summary, there are far too many professional photographers in the world to choose from. I am sure most of them provide a very high quality service, but this is clearly not the case with Sam Shot the Bride. If you're anything like me, family is of the utmost importance making family photos something you cherish. Do your research and hopefully you will not have to experience what my family and I have endured.

I should have written this forever ago, but I mean... wedding planning... Anyhow, I was taking my…read morefiancé on a trip to Charleston Sept 2017, where I used to live. I knew my fiancé would love it as much as me, so it was important for me to get engagement photos there to document all of Charleston's beauty and charm. I researched A LOT of photographers, and many of them were just way too far out of my budget. I was skeptical of Leigh's prices, but figured even if I had an amateur taking pictures of me in Charleston's cobblestoned streets of love, they still couldn't be that bad. She does not have an instagram, but does have a Facebook, but only showed little bits of her work. I took a chance and I emailed back and forth with her and she was always very responsive. We arrived in Charleston a couple of days before Hurricane Irma. We discussed options if the hurricane were to hit directly, obviously plans would have to change. Luckily for us and the rest of the east coast, it turned inward, however did cause major flooding in downtown Charleston, which was where we were set to have our photos done. Leigh was able to do us a day later, to give an extra day of cleanup to downtown area. We met Leigh and she had a friendly face and smile. It was a little awkward for Chris and I as we had never had professional photos done (other than by my sister) so we felt a bit silly but trusted Leigh in her posing. Leigh walked us around the battery and Rainbow Row and asked for our input on what photos we wanted as well as just taking some of her own. We booked her for two hours and she was able to get so many shots! Even with a wardrobe change (which she knew of a great spot that was clean to change in) we had leftover time and she asked if there was anything else I wanted. I told her I love love love the US Customs House, so we got in our car and drove a couple miles up the road. I am SOOO happy we went there. She walked us around the block to take some pictures in front of the Charleston Market. I can't believe I'm giving up all these secrets. Throughout the photo taking time she was pleasant and helpful. She thought of things I never would have. I figured I would have to wait WEEKS to see the final result. Well I did not at all. It was like 72 hours, she had sent me a z drive (is that what it is??) in the mail to my home address (we had come home at that point - not sure how delivery is to local people) with all my photos on them, plus each photo in black and white. The pictures are JUST BEAUTIFUL!! I have uploaded quite a few of them, our absolute favorites but you can see for yourself if you like her style. We absolutely did. We are so so happy with how they turned out, look at them all the time! Already had a shutterfly book made with the images. There were really only a handful that I did not like, and that is because how my face looked, not how the picture looked!! And also my fiancé was sweating like a pig (no pun intended) cause he had never been in that wonderful southern humidity, and I wish it came through better through the lens because it was noticeable in the pictures where he had taken his jacket off. None of these things had to do with her, just the only "bad" thing I can think of, cause there has to be something right. OHHH I know. I really wish she would blog your photos, or have a link to them so you can add them to your own website, instead of having to upload each one individually to your Facebook page or such. I would love to have a link to brag about them and say go check out my photos by Leigh! I have to instead upload each individually, and who really looks at the +86 photos on Facebook..... I can't say how much I love my Charleston engagement photos. She Captured some really sweet moments with my fiancé and I and did a fantastic job capturing Charleston's beauty. I hope to travel again to Charleston and will very much hire Leigh in a heartbeat for some more stunning and fun photos :)

This was the first time we had professional photos taken of the baby and were of course a tad apprehensive about how it all would go, especially due to the fact that he had a terrible nap day the day of the shoot (of course!). Things could not have gone smoother - Kate has 3 children herself so was just wonderful at getting him to smile and holding his attention. She was so creative with finding good spots for pictures (our shoot took place at White Point gardens and the streets surrounding them), and we found her to be warm, pleasant, and very fun to work with. We felt relaxed and comfortable the whole time - it was really an enjoyable evening! The pictures themselves are breathtaking - I teared up when I opened them, and there are a few that still make me misty whenever I look at them! I'm still having a hard time deciding between several for our Christmas card because they're all so gorgeous! She got a great balance of staged, portrait-like shots along with more relaxed, candid moments of our family. These will be treasured by us for a long, long time. We can't recommend Kate enough!! Looking at the photos she captured throughout the weekend takes us right back to the joy and happiness because she was able to capture such real and genuine moments. Some of my absolute favorite moments were of our first look, which she captured absolutely beautifully. Kate also has the most calming personality (yet is able to wrangle large groups of family and friends!) and was a joy to have as a part of the weekend.
