Abe is a super nice guy and the owner of Fandango's. He told us to stop in and see him in the afternoon and we were delighted to do so. We stopped in for Happy Hour (daily from 2-6). It was honestly one of the best Chabela's I've ever drank. If you don't know what a Chabela is, it's beer, lime, salt, spices and Clamato juice. Otherwise known as a Michelada in the states, it's correct name is Chabela. A Michelada is only beer, lime and salt. Anyway, Abe's family owns the hotels adjacent to the bar if you have a little too much to drink and need a nice place to stay. They have a delicious food menu with ceviches and other yummy local fresh fish. Next time you find yourself in San Filipe, stop by. You'll love it!!!

The meals I've had here are consistently the best I've had in Baja and most places in the states. I know the food is fresh because not everything is always available and there are always new specials with local in-season veggies and meats/fish. From the bluefin sashimi (seasonal) to the bananas foster, the meal never disappoints. My current obsession is the lobster stuffed portobello mushroom and the halibut when it's available. If you order the pasta on the cheese wheel you can get it with chicken, shrimp, or lobster. I've had them all and each is fantastic in it's own way. It's also dinner and a show as it's prepared tableside! Try it! People come from near and far for Javier's cooking and once you try t, you'll see why. It is a full bar with no taps, but plenty of beers and spirits that are common at any bar here in the US. They pride themselves on giving the heavy pours, so drinks will get you there faster. English is spoken very well if you need that. There was one time when I came and some girl and her friends were celebrating an 18th birthday and the entire bar was full of lovely young ladies knowing no better it seemed. Shots, Jaeger bombs, hitting' it hard. It was fun to watch for a short time at least.. I believe they have food during some of the football games, but tasty snacks are available behind the bar too. A guy next to me bought this dried mango with chili on a stick that was in a sealed bag he claimed was awesome. Sure looked good to me. It has now become a must visit for me, especially since the Miramar bar is shut down. This place to me is better anyways, just lacking the ocean view. I've been to Buzzards a number of times and each time I am absolutely amazed at the quality of the food and service. Whether it's marriage (past, present or future) or neighbors (close, closer or OMG!), everyone seems to know everyone at Parrot's Cracker. Being an outsider was a problem. We had a tough time getting drinks, a few people were downright rude to us, and we felt less than welcome. What a shame for two travelers that love San Filipe like a second home. We were really hoping to find more places to add to our growing list of regular haunts in San Filipe, but Parrot's Cracker isn't one of them.
