We're staying here now as I write this review. We've been here for about one week. The staff is so very friendly. The friendliest we've had of anywhere we've stayed. It almost feels like we belong here; like it's the home of our own family. They are very accommodating to our needs. They have San Miguel Light (35 PHP each) chilling in the refrigerator for us and oh man, it is sooo cold and refreshing. Well worth the 35 pesos. I'm surprised it's not frozen with ice.
Rooms range from 1,000 to 1,500 pesos per night, depending on the room and length of stay. The room we're in is a fairly good size. Much larger than anywhere else we've stayed. The rooms are clean and smell great. They have several rooms which vary in size. I think ours is the largest. We have a wonderful, large balcony where we sit and enjoy the great Tagaytay breeze. The air conditioner works great. Sometimes too good and we have to turn it off. The shower has hot water and the toilet is not within the shower!! I hate when the toilet and shower are confined in the same space. After all, nobody wants to sit on a wet toilet or waste tissue drying it off...
I love the location! Eufel sits just a block away from Ayala mall where you can easily walk for groceries and restaurants. A very large fruit stand also sits across the street from Ayala. The area is quite convenient for food, shopping, and transportation.
I would easily give this place 5-stars if the internet wasn't so problematic and the rooms had their own refrigerator. The internet was an easy fix for us as we just purchased a month of Globe internet for our cell phone for 1000 pesos ($20 USD for 5 GB). A Globe store can also be found at Ayala. And even after paying for our own internet the price of the room+internet is still better than anywhere else we've found with rooms even close to comparison.
The only downside we've experienced so far is the internet (no surprise in Philippines though). The connection is down more than it works. Other places we've stayed didn't have near the problems Eufel does with their internet service. The staff is aware of the problems and say they are trying to get it fixed. We gave them some suggestions and they said they would continue trying to get it fixed and understand the importance of internet to travelers.
**UPDATE: Today the internet company came out and fixed the internet. So far everything seems to be working great. YAY! Now they just need to get refrigerators!
**NOTE: Yelp has the location of this place WAY off. I've tried to fix it several times but for some reason they won't submit the fix. Check the Google Maps link below. Google shows a small neighborhood with three streets and has Eufel located on the middle street. Hope this helps.
