The Ems are a hometown institution. They've been part of the fabric of Eugene of over 70 years! They originally played at (now defunct) Bethel Park in, as you may have guessed, the Bethel neighborhood. They spent most of their years at Civic Stadium in Eugene before moving to their current location, PK Park, which is actually a University of Oregon facility for their baseball team. I remember going to games with my mom when I was young, when her workplace was doing a whiffle ball promotion with the team. And they have some fun promos nowadays too; we went to "Take Meow't to the Ballgame", where Pete the Cat was there and attendees were invited to bring their cats as well. We saw two cats... I'm not sure they were excited to be there, but I appreciate the out of the box thinking! Their official mascot is a Sasquatch, which is a fun nod to the legend in the Pacific Northwest. They also debuted an identity which they use occasionally called Monarcas de Eugene. Their Monarcas uniforms are gorgeous! I know that there was some talk about the Ems needing a stadium of their own (not as guests of the UO), which didn't pan out, and they've said they're going to move elsewhere. I'm not sure if that was the final word on relocation or if maybe they've backed off it a bit. I'd like the Ems to stay because it's good for Eugene. They do need to work on their merch, though. We went recently to the game and they one toddler shirt and a onesie, and everything else was a kid's small or larger. I wish they had more of their Monarcas identity in merch (I don't want a jersey; I want an everyday t-shirt) or the Exploding Whales (especially for kids!). read more

We really liked the stadium, and the admission price was okay. Of course, to sit through a game you need something to eat and drink. Beers and margaritas were at least ten bucks. I guess they figure they can charge whatever they want, but I won't be going back for that reason. The only thing we bought that seemed priced right was a bag of peanuts. Also, we might have bought an Ems seat cushion since the seats are hard, but there were none to be found. read more

Let me say upfront that my problem is not with the Team or the facility at PK Park but with the management of the Eugene Ems. I was a fan of the Emeralds for most of my life and was one of the main reasons I follow MLB today. It is therefore extremely unfortunate that the management, including the San Diego Padres, would ignore fan's wishes and move the Eugene Emeralds form the historic Civic Stadium in downtown Eugene. When the Ems would play at the historic Civic stadium, built in 1938, it was an experience only available at a handful of baseball parks across the country. The stadium is all wood with a scoreboard still operated completely by hand (one of only a couple across the country). Games played at the stadium felt like stepping back in time to the glory days of baseball. In 2008, through a grassroots effort, the stadium was added to the National Register of Historic Places in an attempt to save the stadium from what not seems like imminent demolition (as the school district who owns the property is unable to find new tenants). The management of the Emeralds claims that renovating the stadium would cost in excess of $15 million dollars. While this may be true, I feel, in my personal unsourced opinion, that a majority of this work could have been avoided through proper maintenance of the structure over the last decade and that due to management negligence this maintenance was never performed. I, like many who attended the last Emeralds game played at Civic Stadium, feel that the this team is not the Eugene Emeralds unless they play at Civic Stadium. I will be attending any of their games at PK Park, I will not support a team that blatantly ignores the outspoken cries of its fans. read more

I've been to about a dozen Ems and Monarcas games through the summer, as I am new to the area and have been looking for fun things to do. I come from a town with a AAA team, and we attend a lot of games, so I have something to compare the Ems to. The ticket prices are reasonable, and parking is close by and while a little pricey, I feel that my car is safe. There are never long lines getting into the stadium (but bring your clear bag or you'll be sent back to your car). The atmosphere is very famiy friendly, the seating is comfortable, and the crowd is positive and supportive of the team. There are lots of food choices, as well as craft beers, ciders, and other beverages. The food isn't any more expensive than any other venue I've been to, but the quality and quantity of the food is better in every case. Their 4th of July fireworks display was outstanding, and their in-game games are fun to watch. The music and sound effects are a little much for me - they could tone that back. But overall I love attending the Ems games - they do a great job, and I would encourage you to take yourself out to the ball game! read more

Great time for family fun! Bleacher seats were comfortable, with a great view but too sunny for our toddler. Also the peanut shells on and around our seats made us a bit nervous with his nut allergy. Easy parking and beautiful facility. read more

Love spending a Summer evening at an Em's game. Nice atmosphere and a great friendly staff. The new logos are really great as well. The old one was fine but the new one is definitely a logo for a "minor" league team. They have some pretty good promos. If the video board showed some replays that would be sweet. read more

Great stadium and Emeralds staff go out of their way to create a friendly environment. On the field promotions are fun and prices are good. Off the field the Emeralds staff is fantastic, whether during the season or the offseason. I'm a Hillsboro Hops fan, but I have to give absolute credit to the Emeralds. read more

Stopped by for a baseball game on our family vacation. Beautiful field and friendly staff. One thing that impressed me was the general manager, Allen Benavides was handing out flyers after the game and happened to start up a conversation with him. What a nice guy and a pleasure to talk to. He took the time to make us feel at home. Son also got to take a pic with Steve Lerud and talk baseball. Can't wait to come back for another game. read more

Just putting a 5 star review up to negate the pissy one star reviews. I can't blame the team for moving to a better facility. Civic stadium, while full of memberberries, was falling apart and there was no sense on spending the money on fixing it when the U of O built a perfectly good stadium that is relatively easy to get to. The stadium is nice, parking isn't really a problem.(Even at full price. It's $5, cheapskates) I love the promotions and cheap ticket days. It makes games affordable for me and allows me to see some good local baseball. I grew up going to MLB games and the Ems being in Eugene help me revisit some of those awesome memories. The atmosphere is light hearted and fun and I feel like I'm getting a much bigger experience than just a baseball game although that part is super awesome as well. I love the Ems, love the fact that they are now affiliated with the Cubs and will be attending a lot more games in the future! read more

I attended my first "Eugene Emeralds" baseball game in Eugene, OR on 8/15/2012. I had a great time. The game was played at PK Park (where the Oregon Ducks play). They charged $3.00 to park and my ticket for the game cost $13.00 (I was in row 1). The Emeralds won the game 5 to 3 over the Tri-City Dust Devils from WA. A great way to spend an evening in Eugene. read more
