Eugster's was seriously so much fun! We had a blast visiting the animals and picking apples on Thursday. My 4 year old loved the tractors and watering the veggies with the tiny watering cans. We never made it to see the llamas, which we later learned are pretty cool and not to be missed. I was a bit disappointed that we couldn't buy the amazing looking doughnuts in the shop, but my son's cache of good behavior was about exhausted and it was time to go. Alas, next time!

We loved the farm, there were 6+ types of apple trees, many animals and many plants. Definitely worth a visit with your friends and family

The most amazing place in the fall. I promise you've never had apples this good. We meandered through an apple orchard, got lost in a corn maze, strolled through the vineyard, pet various animals, cut our own bouquets of flowers, and grabbed some pumpkins and treats on the way out. Huge selection of pumpkins, squashes, and gourds. Their apple cider donuts are so good we walked out with two dozen. Cannot wait for next fall to come back!!

Visited during the summer to see the sunflowers in full bloom. Eugster's sunflower field is massive! There are acres of sunflowers just bathing in the sunlight. The day we visited was very pretty and was a beautiful experience. Would highly recommend for anyone who likes flowers, nature, and likes being outside.

We have been here several times for different events. This time we came for pick your own apples. Our family of 15 had a great day in the petting zoo, feeding the animals, picking our own apples, playing on the Swingset, and escaping the corn maze. You can spend hours here with your family. They have so much to do. After the Apple picking we went home and had an Apple pie baking contest, we bobbed for Apples, we made carmel Apples, played the game Apples to Apples and then ate pulled pork smoked with Applewood. It was an Apple kind of day. We will be back. Thanks Eugester's! You have a great family farm!

Eugsters has many time openings you can go at, for various prices. It's slightly cheaper to go in the afternoon, but the morning (10 am) is the best time to go, especially if it's going to be a nice day. It's cool, and the animals are all up and moving around! I'd say the largest attractions of eugsters is the petting zoo, apple picking, and the corn maze. They also have a tractor ride to pumpkins they've set out in a field that you can choose from, and a bakery with various treats. There are many different kinds of animals you can pet, and you can feed some of them as well! Our favorite part was getting a small bottle of milk ($1 each) and feeding the baby goats. The more cost effective, and still quite fun (although nothing beats the baby goats) is getting some large pellet foods (available in a bag for $1, or around the farm from despensers for 25¢ per batch) to feed the larger animals. You can feed the larger pellets to the adult and adolescent goats, sheep, a llama, and a cow! All the critters look very well taken care of, and are quite friendly, especially when they see that you have food! We saw many families with little kids who were trying to feed them grass, and the animals just weren't interested. If you go there with your kids, be the cool parent that gets the food for your kids to give out. Maybe ration it out to your child, because the critters will munch it all up quickly if you give them a chance! Giving it to them one or two pellets at a time holds their attention and lets you pet them really well! Eugsters has a decent variety of apples, with honey crisp dominating the area from what we saw. They were delicious. Past the orchard section is a large corn maze that is well done and a fun walk through. Not as large a Schuster's, but still a solid maze. We were kind of disappointed by the pumpkin "patch", because we were hoping to be able to go among the vines and pick one, and these were all pre-clipped, and set in a field. All very nice specimens however, I'd doubt anyone who bought one would be disappointed. There is also a pick your own flower section! All in all, Eugsters is my favorite farm I've been to in the area, and it was definitely because of the great petting zoo, and the variety of activities around the grounds! We'll be taking family here when they visit us!

The farm was well cared for with some amazing farm animals. We had a great time with our little one. We enjoyed the cut your own flowers and sunflower fields.

The family and I wanted to go apple picking and after seeing some friends had been here and had great experiences, we decided to check it out! Of course, we picked the hottest day of "fall" to go, but really, there was so much shade available, it wasn't that bad (except the mosquitos, but we're outdoors and it's been a buggy season, what did we expect?). Admission is $8/person to get in (I think there might be a kid rate, too, but we didn't have any children with us; so I am unsure on that), which includes just about everything except apple picking (unless you purchase a large bag for apple picking, which then includes one admission). For apple picking, the options are $12 for the small bag (which does not include admission) or $25 for the large bag (which includes one admission). Our family opted for the $25 bag because it made more sense and, honestly, the bag was HUGE; so, we all were able to take some apples home and still had some left over to share with friends and co-workers. Upon entering, to the right is the Big Barn, where they have their homemade caramel apples, apple cider, apple cider donuts, and more. The apple cider donuts were so moist and tickled my tastebuds. I chased the donuts with their cider and WOW. What a pairing. The cider was nice and tart and not sugared down like others I have tasted in the past, which blended perfectly with the sugary coating of the donuts. The spooky silo was next, which was a mini maze for kids. It was adorable. I love that they used glow paint to paint "spooky" yet childlike creatures on the walls to give a little haunting feel but still made it fun and not too scary for the kids. As we made our way down toward the petting zoo, we came across a slew of red wagons, which could be used by parents to tote their kids around. I thought this was a nice touch! Though we did not have any small children, we knew our apple bag would get quite heavy; so, we snagged a wagon for apple hauling, which we did not regret. The petting zoo was great! They was a miniature pony, a donkey, sheep, pigs, and goats along the first pass. The best part? For $1, you can bottle feed the baby goats!!!! This was probably the best part of my day because baby goats are my thing. They are just SO stinking cute. You could also feed the adult animals using the feeding machines, which take quarters. I have to say that I was a bit disappointed in the kitten palace. There was one cat who was sleeping in the big tire, which was pretty adorable, but there were only 2 kittens, which were locked away in a caged area sleeping. Thankfully, I was not here for the cats or this could have put a damper on my day. Beyond the petting zoo, we finally made it to the apple orchard. We were a bit confused about how it all worked at first, but finally happened upon a staff member who provided us with a map of the different apples available. I really cannot say enough about the apples. There were many varieties available and they were juicy, delicious, and CRISPY. There is nothing worse than a mealy apple. This was not an issue here. It's been a couple weeks since we went and our apples are still just as crisp and delicious as the day we picked them (we bought the big bag and even with our share of the apples, they are lasting a long time, if that is any indication of how large and worth it the bag is). My only qualm is that when you put the apples in the bag, it's hard to tell what is what when you get home. I don't know if it is ever possible to better organize apples in a bag while apple picking, but maybe it might worth considering finding a way to offer labels or dividers in the future for this purpose. There are 2 corn mazes: an adult one and one for children, as well as a tractor ride. Unfortunately, it was too hot and buggy for us to enjoy them; so, we will have to go back another time and check those out. I definitely want to go back on a day when the temperature is more appropriate to further explore those that I did not get the chance to enjoy this time around. This is a great place for kids, adults, and adults who want to feel like a kid at heart!

This place is great stop on a Fall afternoon. We paid $8 for the petting zoo and spent about 45 minutes petting/feeding the animals (you can bottle feed baby goats!!) There was also the option of taking a hayride and going through the corn mazes, but it was super hot so we skipped those activities. All of the employees were super friendly, and the grounds were nicely maintained. Overall a really nice stop.

KITTEN PALACE. I think I've found my happy place. Eugster's is a working farm, but they also have a slew of family-friendly activities. One of those activities is the kitten palace. From the outside, the kitten palace just looks like a little shack. It also looks like a little shack on the inside, but there is also the bonus of a dozen tiny, perfect, cuddly kittens that you can snuggle to your heart's content. THERE ARE LITERALLY BASKETS OF KITTENS. I don't know if I can stress the amazingness of this little room enough. The cats are rescues that are being socialized for adoption, and they are tiny, tiny balls of fur. Children aren't allowed to pick them up, but as a full-grown adult who is as excited as a child, I get the best of both worlds (and get to make kiddos happy while I hold out kittens for them to pet like I work there while giving the teens who actually do a break). Win-win. In addition the kitten palace (as if you need to know any more), there are goats, fish, myriad birds, horses, apple picking, a pumpkin patch, tractor rides, a 3-D "haunted" house and silo, magic and puppet shows, delicious cider and cider donuts, two corn mazes, and more for an entire afternoon of fun during their fall festival weekends. At night, Eugster's turns into Screamin' Acres, a decent haunted house. Not the scariest, but not a cake walk, either. At other times of year Eugster's offers up some of the tastiest sweet corn I've ever had along with other goods at their farm market. They have special events throughout the year and also offer school and corporate trips to the farm. The kitten palace, though. I don't know if anything will ever top that for me.

    That's a good looking rooster.

This is a new family favorite. A nice spot with plenty of animals to see and pet and feed. Eugster's farm is impeccably maintained. The staff is warm and informative. The animals are well cared for. Compared to other places that cater to families, the price of the visit is quite reasonable. During the summer, 5 dollars for anyone over 24 months. They encourage you to bring your own picnic and there are plenty of places to eat with shade. The only other costs would be buying a bottle for $1 if you want to feed to goats and a 25 cents if you want to give feed to the chickens or sheep. You can also buy ice cream, seriously delicious cookies and produce that is in season. We saw goats, turkeys, peacocks, chickens, horses, donkeys, a cow, a pony, pigs, sheep, bunnies and more. We all loved the Kitten Palace, which allows you to spend time with some sweet kitties from the Darlington Rescue. There's also a big sand box, a garden to help water and a nice play set. All of this, and only a 20 minutes drive from Madison!

Weekend Fall Festival... Lots of activities. Can do a U-pick for $25 per person and lots of activities such as a petting zoo, corn maze, magic show, milking, and so many other educational activities. You can also just do a Festival only for $10 a person which is everything but the apples. You can also get pumpkins for about $0.32/lb. they have a storefront with apple butter prepicked apples etc. lots of extras. Halloween scare tunnel for older kids and a dark hallway in a silo for littles.

The owners (2 Gals) were super friendly and interactive with us on any questions we asked. We loved hearing their story and how close the community around them is. On this street alone, you can hit a pumpkin patch and an apple picking farm all 5 minute drive from one another. They currently had a 'Yarn Hop' going on which we thought was so fun. With that, they really put standards in place for COVID safety precautions. At the front entrance, there was someone waiting to understand how many people were in your car (and if there were any children) so that they could contain crowds. Masks were worn and there is specific areas for parking marked. When we arrived, we were given a couple of carrot bags to feed the alpacas. They were all roaming, minding their own business eating the grass, but once you shake your plastic baggy of carrot goodness, they'll start walking to you instantly. They eat with their bottom teeth and are just the cutest things. I'm also extremely jealous of their eyelashes, extensions can't get you that amount of volume! Right next door, they have a another barn with their shop of goods, including honey/bee products. My friend got the alpaca gloves, another got the body butter, and I snagged a GalPaca shirt. There's lot to choose from and they're all labeled nicely. The cutest thing is, if you purchase yarn, there are the names of the specific alpaca it came from. So cute! Even though it's getting a little chillier, I would make my way out here to explore! A short 30-40 minutes from Madison and lots of other farms to see. You can also then go to more of the city area of Mt. Horeb afterwards.

GalPaca Farm Alpacas was very conscious of the pandemic and made sure to ask about the number of people we had in the car and to limit the amount of visitors to make the experience fun and safe for all. I know during the summertime they will have baby cows, but overall to me there should be more transparency around not actually seeing cows when you visit the creamery. Other than that there is a small parking lot that can get very busy at times, but plenty of places to sit. We did love the kids playground outside but all of the bikes were broken/didn't work and the bags put away for corn hole. Overall we were really disappointed at this trip. We chose…read morethis location because it offered a relaxing environment access a variety of activities write on the farm. We had no idea what to expect but good grief ... We were blown away! Upon arriving, we were not even sure we were in the right place. This was a very small family-owned farm and we thought we were going to a large commercial business. I was further confused because I had previously visited Provence France where the lavender Fields are miles and miles of purple in every direction. I was sure we were in the wrong place. However, we walked up to a small building and said hello to a young lady standing out front. It turned out we were in the right place and the young lady was the owner's daughter. This young lady, who appeared to be a young adult, stood and talk to us for a while. She welcomed us to the farm and told us we were free to roam around until they were ready with our activities. In the background, we could see someone busy moving around the property as if she relate for an important date. We happily walked off onto the property to get a good view of what was available. What an amazing property! There were miles and miles acres and acres (more than 40 acres of farmland). Every visitor is free to roam the farm until they are ready to leave, but many, we were told never take advantage of the opportunity. Unknown to us, when we first arrived, the farm is still recovering from a major flood 5 years ago where 90% of its lavender fields were wiped out. Our wonderful host explained their efforts to restore their lavender fields. Let me tell you about the amazing host. She calls herself MJ. She hails from Hawaii and says that most people do not correctly pronounce her name so she just shortened it as a kid to MJ. After our wonderful experience on her property, I will dub her Lady MJ, " The Amazing." During the off season, Lady MJ, her husband, and family tend to this farm to get it ready for the very short tourist season. She never knows until March. What the land will yield. Because she is a naturalist, she honors the land and uses holistic practices. Some of her offerings include a lavender facial, a lavender foot, soak, a lavender charcuterie lunch, a lavender picnic basket, and lavender spritzers. She has so many other things to offer on her property. This is a small family business so the entire family is involved. Currently, she is down a chef because her eldest daughter is away on a mission. The rest of the family, however, including the dog seems to be involved in the business. Lady MJ is the spark that keeps the business running. When you arrive you immediately experience time slowing down. There's no rush. There's no push to buy products. Everything just stops and you start to relax. My friend and I chose to do a foot soak, a facial, and the charcuterie board. Board. It was a package deal and we loved every minute of it. When we received our receipt, the time indicated was 1.5 hours for the entire package. Once we got there however, we ended up staying almost 7 hours. We actually wished there was a hotel on the property that we could have just stayed in. I might have even been willing to stay in a tent! If you have a chance to take a trip to a lavender field in Baraboo, Wisconsin, you absolutely must give up going to the larger commercial farms. Support this family! Lady MJ has an amazing product. However, her season is very short. We were lucky enough to be among the last visitors to the farm this season. She warned us to book next year and March. That's when she knows what her season will be and trust us, we will be looking for another wonderful experience at Rowley Creek Lavender Farm! When you come, plan to stay. Abandon your cares. Abandon your plans. Just relax and enjoy the stay. Lady MJ and her family will make you feel welcome just by being there with you. She is truly an amazing woman. I have no idea how she does all the things she does but I'm super glad that she does! Thank you lady MJ! We can't wait to come back next year! We wish your whole family a restorative off season. You're amazing people are we're glad we chose Rowley Creek Lavender Farm! See you next year!!!

I believe they require/recommend purchasing a farm visit pass prior to going, it's $5 per car and can be used towards your purchase of $10 or more in the store. It's a small price to pay for an hour or two of enjoying the views and the scents. A great place to spend a fall day with the kids. There is so much to do here! Feed or pet goats,…read moredonkeys, kittens, rabbits, pigs, turkeys, chickens, peacocks, geese and more. A bag of feed is $2. Get active on the playground equipment or try and tackle the corn maze. (beware no clues inside!) Then you can take the wagon ride every 30 minutes out to the pumpkin patch and sunflower field. They have food and beverages including hot apple cider and delicious, warm, fresh donuts! Do note that the price of a pumpkin is not included with admission. They are priced separately based on size.

THEY'RE ALSO A WEDDING VENUE!…read more I would not recommend using! The venue itself is unique and definitely fun for people who love the farm and animals. I got married here in November of 2019. When I first went to see the place I loved it, the owner even seemed pretty down to earth and easy going she talked about all the success she's had with previous couples and how she really got to know them. Well, after I signed my contract and paid my deposit, it couldn't have been more different! I had to contact her multiple times to even get a response. Usually a text a few days after my initial call or text "hey did you get my message" I would contact her about once a month with questions or to pay her, so it's not like I was some sort of crazy picky bridezilla. During my engagement I was working full time another part time job and planning the wedding, the owner was of zero help. Until the week before the wedding then most of my questions were answered in a timely manner. READ THE CONTRACT! I ended up paying a little over $7,500 JUST FOR THE VENUE FOR THE DAY!!!! You will be nickled and dimed for everything EVEN FOOD TO FEED THE ANIMALS! The day before the wedding and the morning of the wedding the pipes in the bathroom were frozen. We planned to get ready in the provided barns which they put some space heaters in the one for the bride that barely kept it warm. The groomsmen waited until just shortly before the wedding to go in that provided barn since it was so cold. The bathroom is a trailer that was quite a distance from the barn where your reception is (or where you get married during inclement weather.) On our particular wedding the floors in the bathroom were not kept mopped so, I had multiple guests slip in the bathroom, one had actually mentioned it to the owner and she just said "okay" and then did nothing about it. The barn where the wedding and the reception were was not heated very well either so I had guests wearing coats the entire time and even leaving early because they were so cold. We were also charged a $200 fee taken out of our damage deposit for the heat, that really didn't seem to be working. The owner also stepped on the bottom of my dress as I was walking into the barn and left a muddy shoe print on the bottom of my dress right before I was to walk down the aisle. I will say at that point there would've been nothing we could do to clean it off since there is no running water in the barn, and it was ceremony time, but she could've at least aknowledged it later and compensated me somehow for it. I'm attaching a picture! I will say a positive was one of the employees Megan, she was so kind and helpful throughout the wedding, she offered to get me drinks and even helped with clean up. She was there till the end while THE OWNER WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!!! I felt bad for her since many of the things had gone wrong were out of her control. IF I WAS REVIEWING JUST HER SHE WOULD GET 10 STARS! Since the wedding I have contacted the owner regarding these issues to try and get my money back for at least the heat that we were charged for that wasn't even working adequately. I work in the service industry and I understand we can't always please everyone, and things can go wrong, but It's necessary to aknowledge them and let the people you're serving know that and try to make them better somehow. I'm really an easy going person, and especially a bride. At the end of the day I got to marry the man of my dreams and the love of my life! so that aspect of the day went perfectly. I wish I knew a little more about the particular venue and other people's experiences before I booked it, so I do hope that this information helps a future bride.
