The plaza is surrounded by Placio Paz on one side, another huge palace on another, and the park opens up to a big, long mall with a clock tower and a monument to the children killed at the Malvinas Islands battles. There's a subway stop here, so it's easy to access. Watch out for people sleeping by the entrance. The park opens up to Florida Street on the other side, which is a great shopping district. "Cambio! Cambio!" It's a bit of a bummer that someone decided to fence off the giant statue of San Martin on horseback, so you can't get too close. There's plenty of parking along this square, and it's a nice place to get situated. It's up a hill from the central train station. There are no public restrooms here.

What a treasure, located right in the middle of the city…read more We didn't do enough research prior to arriving in Buenos Aires, to be honest, but it led to such a brilliant surprise when we just WANDERED into the ecoparque. We learned that it was once a zoo but is now a free nature reserve. Many of the animals roam entirely at their own will throughout the park - no fences, cages, or barriers. IMAGINE OUR SHOCK when a Patagonian mara just .... walked right by us. Also, capybaras! Tapirs! Monkeys! Ducks! Peacocks! & more! I was just gobsmacked the entire time. We spent about 2 hours in the park & could've easily spent another 2 more. I wish we had more time. I want to go back. If you're planning a trip to Buenos Aires, the Ecoparque is an absolute MUST-DO.

Had very poor customer service tonight The hotel offers…read moretransportation service to and from local restaurants.. after having dinner at a restaurant less than 2miles away we contacted hotel for pickup . Had to make 3 phone calls and waited close to 1hour to get picked up ( promised over and over driver on his way , ) Spoke to Diego hotel manager on the last call and we were informed driver was picking up other people at other restaurants. When driver picked us up , no other customers in van . In addition , when we informed driver of our lengthy wait , he stated he was never informed by the concierge. Very disappointing service and very unsafe to be standing on street waiting for a service that cannot be delivered timely or with honest communication from hotel staff .

The location is a bit out of the way although it is within walking distance of the Casa Rosada and Ave de Mayo. My only disappointment was that I booked the hotel using points and as a Platinum IHG member it would be normal to be put on the executive floor, however, this was not the case with this property. They forced me to pay a surcharge for the upgrade to the executive floor. Had I known this beforehand I would have booked the Hyatt Palacio Duhau instead, which is what I will do next time around.

On the corner you can find Freddo or a local ice cream store on the other corner. Other than that it's very clean and neat, they do have a lot of shades so even on a sunny day it will be good option. If you are not in a rush, check out the museum near by.
