My first time reviewing an entire town, but Eureka Springs deserves the praise. This place has become my favorite get-away for the past 20+ years. Between staying here for a few days or doing day trips while staying in nearby Bentonville or Fayetteville; Eureka Springs is a magical destination with something for everyone. The steep, narrow and winding streets adorned with incredible architecture - residential and commercial - provide a reason to slow down and enjoy a vigorous hike or leisurely drive through the city's multiple scenic thoroughfares and loops. The shops are as eclectic as the residents and those that come to partake of the culture for a short stay. Diversity is the rule of law in Eureka Springs; with religious attractions, gay pride festivals, biker weekends, the hiking / canoeing crowds, fine art and folk artists, a strong music, coffee, beer and food scene, along with the tacky souvenir t-shirt shops. All of this and lots more in a remote mountain town of 2,200 residents! My wife and I became engaged at a small cottage 21 years ago here and we returned for our 5th visit this week for our 20th anniversary. We are already planning a return visit next year for the solar eclipse.

Awesome little place! Make sure you like dives!!

What a unique gem of a place! Yes, I used a cliché word just bear with me. I am seeing some reviews on here and I understand the mixed viewpoints because of the great divide in our country right now. People not being kind to one another saddens and disappoints me, because I love people regardless of race, wealth status and/or creed. Put your feels aside and just enjoy. Eureka Springs is a BEAUTIFUL, artsy, eclectic place with amazing natural beauty, incredible eats, and fun shopping. If you are not new agey you can easily avoid those places which I did and I still LOVED shopping and looking around. There are incredible spas, visit the natural springs in the area, go on trail runs or hikes. Take a JOY RIDE (I did in my Jeep) through the wonderful winding roads up the Ozark mountains. Stay in a Victorian home or adorable cottage. Eureka Springs will always have my artsy heart. I drove up solo after visiting family and friends and had a blast. Cannot wait to plan another trip and bring peeps up there to explore.

Parking can be a problem on a busy day. We paid for space on lot and walked around the main street. Not too busy in Nov before Thanksgiving so I imagine summer crowds would overwhelm the city. Lots of stores to sell stuff for tourists. We went to War Eagle Mills for lunch (see separate review).

I didn't expect what I got. It's a steep hilly downtown that descends quickly into various coffee shops and bourgeoise stores. It's remoteness in the Arkansas mountains opening up to this surprise makes it more of a bucket list place to go to.

I had the turkey and Swiss sandwich. It was amazing! The service was great and we didn't wait long for our food. I'll definitely be back.
