They allow one group at a time into the shop for a fully curated Jamon Beurre experience. Yep, that is all you can get here. Ham sandwiches, but it's a much more involved experience than that. When you walk in, there is an entire wall with a cooler displaying every kind of ham possible. You have to pick whether you want cured or just baked ham. What region? They offer Italian, French, Spanish and then you have to narrow it down to the region! Then you do the same with the cheese. I ended up getting two sandwiches, the cured ham from Spain's basque country paired with Ossau-Iraty, or basque sheep milk cheese. My other sandwich was a French baked ham sandwich with comte. Which was the winner? I have to say, the cured meat from Spain was out of this world and in our taste test, was the top winner. I know, I shouldn't say that in France!

This chain is sort of a convenience store, sort of a small urban grocery store. The food, especially their store brand and prepared foods tasted great and the prices were VERY good. If you go, definitely try their prepared chicken with potatoes. Store brand frozen macarons are also incredibly tasty.

Dish of the day was hachis parmentier with salad, excellent beef and mash with properly gratiné'd cheese on top. The ability to serve such a simple dish in this neighbourhood showcases their (justified) confidence in the quality of their products and is a refreshing lack of bs in Montparnasse. Suggested Languedoc red was perfect match, and not too raspy for a vin de pays. Café gourmand underlined their consistency with quality of desserts. Everything exceedingly fresh, biscuit à la cuillère crispy on outside, soft and melting on inside, hadn't had a non-industrial one in years. Epicerie next door stored with very fine and surprising products, mostly demonstrated through the restaurant's menu. They also have a bar and seem to be well stocked in liqueurs. Service was what traditional French should be: relaxed, not pushy in any way, excellent advice and humour. The atmosphere would work well for a cosy romantic dinner. The staff was heavily staffed with stockers and check-out staff. There was an option to grab a scanner and to pre-scan items to expedite the check-out process... quite interesting. There was a good selection of fresh fruits/vegetables, fresh meat, frozen foods, cookies, chocolates, and wine. Wine is all in the low single digits, same with their cured meats! Checkout took a little while despite having numerous self-checkouts. In order to open the gates after checking out, one has to scan the barcode on the receipt.
