Unfortunately, the customer service was the biggest disappointment of the evening. One waitress seemed to deliberately avoid speaking the language the guests were using, only to later reveal that she actually speaks six languages. Not exactly the kind of interaction you expect from a place of this reputation. Another waiter was running around trying so hard to be helpful and pleasing that he seemed to forget what his actual purpose was... sad. Toddlers policy needs to be enforced as sometimes it makes it uncomfortable when the little ones are shouting and crying. Food was a mixed experience. The prawn paella was nothing particularly memorable, while the deer was surprisingly good - juicy, tender, and easily the highlight of the meal. The wine selection felt a little on the lower side for the price level. The dessert wines, including the port and Riesling ice wine, were left behind as they didn't at all impress. The bathrooms were a pleasant surprise - very cute, modern, and automated. Overall, an interesting location and something worth experiencing once, but considering the prices and the service, it felt a little overpriced for what was delivered. For five of us, definitely a one-time visit rather than a place we'd rush back to.

My wife and I felt like taking a bit of a drive in the countryside, and we just happened onto this little restaurant and guesthouse. He decided to stop off and have a quick beer, which turned into an early supper. The setting is absolutely beautiful, its on a little farm, where they rear their own cattle, lamb and have a small trout pond. We sat outside where they were boiling a large copper pot of Glühwein, which was offered to guests on the house. My wife ordered the creamed fish and potato soup, which was thick, rustic and packed with flavor. I had the knüdel duo, basically, savory bread dumplings, one cheese (which is fried) and the other with speck (cured Austrian ham) covered with chives and Parmigianino and served with hot sauerkraut. The sauerkraut was very different, made with a bit of curry powder and bayleaf. Again, just packed full of flavor. The meal came in at about 20€ including drinks, which is outstanding value for money. Rustic, simple cooking done 100% in the right way. We'll be going back as often as possible.
